ELISE

I close the remaining distance between us with three confident steps and lean in to press my lips to his. However, a gasp tears from me when his fingers wrap around my throat in an even tighter grip than before my lips even meet his.

The transition from apparent calm to violence happens so quickly I don't even see him move. One moment I'm approaching, the next I'm caught.

His jaw clenches visibly and his eyes burn with a fury I've never experienced from anyone. They're no longer cold but blazing with an emotion so intense it's terrifying.

Fear course through my veins with vengeance and my life flashes before my eyes.

He's livid that I attempted to kiss him. Does he despise the idea because of Alexander? Or is there something deeper, some principle I've violated by trying to use seduction as currency?

"It's obvious you have a death wish," he snarls through gritted teeth.

His grip is firm enough to restrict my breathing without cutting it off completely.

Golden Butterfly
Kieran is concealing a lot of things, which will become clear as the plot develops. Regarding your question about whether they are supernatural, you know I enjoy taking my readers by surprise. Hehe!

Is Kieran or Elise supernatural? I wonder if this means that her n Kieran will become a team by them secretly getting married instead. I think he’s also testing her to see if she’ll sleep with him or maybe he’s always had a thing for her n Alexander just got to her 1st under false pretenses…

KIERAN~Few Hours Earlier~Thunder growls low in the distance, the sound crawling into Kieran’s awareness like an unwelcome intruder as he lie still beneath the tangled sheets. However, his eyes twitch frantically behind his closed eyelids and his breathing uneven. The nightmare is back with a vengeance. It’s stronger this time, darker even. The darkness shifts and gives way to a landscape of utter devastation. The sky looms heavy and bruised, swirling with storm clouds that seem ready to collapse under their own weight – above the scorched ground littered with bodies of human and beasts twisted into grotesque shapes, their final moments frozen in agony.Blood mixes with the rain, turning the dirt into thick, crimson mud that clings to his feet.Kieran stands watching carnage beyond comprehension. In the center of this apocalyptic mess stands a lone figure. A man with shoulders squared against impossible odds. His stance is that of someone who's fought beyond exhaustion yet refuses to

ELISEAnother video of Alexander and Natasha once more entangled in passion fills the screens. This in an entirely different setting. Different lighting. Different cloths. Same betrayal. The timestamp confirms it in glaring digital clarity. The location is unmistakably the presidential suite at the Ritz. This footage shatters any possibility of a drug-induced, one-time mistake. The date flashes in bold red at the bottom of the screen. The same weekend Alexander claimed he was on business trip. The same weekend Natasha swore she was visiting a sick friend in Boston. The evidence stacks up with ruthless precision. The video plays on, brutally clear. The Ritz logo is visible in the silk sheets with Alexander and Natasha intertwined. Their voices are unmistakable. Their actions deliberate. Their betrayal undeniable.“When will you end this farce with my sister?” Natasha asks on screen, nothing like the trembling, teary act she put on earlier.“After the merger,” Alexander replies between

ELISEThe room that once buzzed with moral judgment now simmers with doubt and suspicion.Natasha lifts her tear-streaked face to the crowd and her voice drops to a whisper so fragile it could snap in the wind. “We couldn’t understand why… until the incident in the bridal suite. That’s when it became clear. She’s been unfaithful all along. She created this scandal to distract everyone… from her own betrayal.”Her fingers stretch toward me, trembling and hollow with wounded affection. “I’ve protected you my whole life, Elise. Even when you made it so hard to love you.” Her voice cracks. “But this? This… how could you do this to me? To us?”Camilla draws her daughter close as if shielding her from the world. “You’ve tormented my child since the day I married your father,” she hisses. “Your jealousy. Your cruelty. The manipulations.”She pivots to the crowd, sweeping her eyes across their stunned faces. “I stayed silent for the sake of peace. For the sake of appearances. But this?” Her t

ELISEHeads whip around when a tech guy bursts through a side door with a face drained of color. He whispers frantically to a security guard who immediately starts talking into his radio. The big screen on the wedding hall walls suddenly flickers to life and all eyes shift from me to the massive screens. Instead of the planned wedding photos for the reception, they display Alexander and Natasha locked in passionate embrace.Gasps ripple through the crowd. The video plays in high definition. There's no mistaking who's on screen. Alexander's distinctive crescent birthmark he proudly attributes to his Westfield heritage is visible on his shoulder and Natasha's diamond ankle bracelet catches the light when she wraps her legs around him."Harder, Alexander," Natasha moans on screen. "Fuck me harder. Show me what she'll never get."Their voices echo through the cathedral with perfect clarity."You've always been better than her," Alexander responds. "Always. This merger is worth the inconve

ELISEThe wedding march starts, each note feeling like a stab, echoing through the hall.My dad's grip on my arm is tight, his threats from moments ago still ringing in my ears: "Mess up, Elise, and you'll regret it forever. Remember who controls the Blackwood fortune!"I lift my chin, trying not to crumble under all the judgment as the big oak doors creak open.Everyone turns to look at me, the disgraced bride in a dress stained with blood. The red spots have dried into rusty patches on the bodice, impossible to hide despite the stylists' frantic attempts. The makeup artists tried their best to cover my split lip and bruised cheek, but you can still see traces of Alexander’s anger if you look closely. The foundation cracks a bit when I try to smile. The cathedral feels like an endless path I have to walk down.Three hundred guests fill the pews, their judgment heavier than the high ceiling above. The aisle is lined with fancy flowers: white roses and lilies picked by Natasha, not me,

ELISE"How generous," someone whispers, genuinely impressed."What a man," another guest murmurs admiringly. "Such strength.""That's true love," a woman declares, dabbing her eyes. "So forgiving. Most men would walk away."The crowd's mood shifts again. Admiration for Alexander flows freely, while judgment for me stays. He's the saintly groom while I'm the fallen woman getting a second chance. His violence is forgotten, my supposed infidelity isn't."She doesn't deserve him," a bridesmaid whispers, not quietly enough. "After everything he's done for her.""The Blackwoods should be grateful he's still going through with it," another guest mutters loudly. "Most men would walk away.""Money talks," someone responds bluntly. "This merger is worth billions. No one walks away from that over a cheating bride."Finally, the truth. This was never about love. It's about power, money, and keeping the family legacy intact. My life, my future… just part of a business deal.Natasha’s smile is brit

ELISEThe crowd parts like the Red Sea for a woman decked out in head-to-toe designer gear, making an entrance. Her heels click hard against the marble floor as she struts over to stand beside me and her eyes zero in on my split lip.I catch that flash of satisfaction in her eyes before she turns to the room with all the demeanor of someone who's used to being the main event."Sorry about my stepdaughter's behavior," she says smoothly. "Elise has always been kind of troubled... Clearly I've been gone too long."Camilla Blackwood, my dad's second wife. The woman who swooped in suspiciously fast after my mom's "death." The hot trophy wife who spent more time on Instagram when she isn’t scheming to ruin my life. The woman whose fingerprints weirdly never showed up in the investigation of my mom's death. Now she’s back from her European "wellness retreat" just in time for the spectacle. Her timing seems suspiciously perfect, almost as if someone had made sure she received advance notice o

ELISENatasha’s performance is flawless. She displays the right mix of shock, disappointment, and righteous anger. If I didn't know better, I might believe it myself. But I've watched her rehearse these emotions in countless social situations, deploying them strategically to get what she wants, whether it's a larger share of our father's attention or Alexander's body in her bed while I was too oblivious to notice. Today, what she wants is damage control, and she's willing to destroy me to achieve it.She turns to the gathered crowd, her expression masterfully changing to wounded indignation and rests her hand protectively on Alexander's arm. A gesture not lost on the photographers still capturing every moment, every touch, every tear. The narrative she's constructing with her body language is clear: the wronged man supported by loyal family in the face of ultimate betrayal."Alexander found out barely ten minutes ago. What man wouldn't lose his mind? She betrayed him hours before thei

ELISECrimson droplets fall from my split lip on my pristine white fabric in slow motion. Each drop expands into a perfect red circle against the silk bodice, blooming like deadly flowers. The contrast is oddly beautiful… violence made visible, undeniable, impossible to hide behind closed doors and forced smiles.Time seems to slow as the first witnesses register the scene before them and their expressions transforming in stages: confusion, shock, horror, judgment. The society photographer who'd come to capture "candid pre-wedding moments" stands frozen with camera raised mid-shot. However, his professional instincts override his shock as he presses the shutter button repeatedly, capturing Alexander Westfield's true nature in high-definition clarity.Camera flashes soon erupt in staccato bursts, turning the private violence into public spectacle. They capture everything in merciless detail. Of Alexander's hand still hanging in air, my calm expression despite blood streaming down my ch
