Chapter 10

Fear engulfed me immediately, and I stood up from the chair at the sound of that far too familiar voice. I have only spent a few weeks here, but I have become so accustomed to that damned voice that I see myself craving to hear it just for a second. I turned around to see him staring at me while wearing a mischievous grin.

I had longed for him to be back, waiting by the window just to be the first to see him when he got back, but seeing him right now, the only thing I felt was fear for my life.

I moved hastily away from him, but I guess I wasn't careful with my steps. I stepped on one foot with the other, and I fell.

"Is this fate or something? I might not let you go if you fall the third time," Damian said, smiling at me.

I was speechless, staring at him wide-eyed, but I didn't move an inch as he held me in his arms.

"Damian, it's your funeral, not fate." His voice brought us back to reality.

"Capo!" he called out and quickly let go of me.
