LOGINWarning!! This story is a long-running serial with escalating reveals and chapter-ending hooks. The chapters may somehow appear slow but trust me, you’re in for a long ride of steamy emotions and thrilling adventures. “I had been married to this man for six years. Six years of building a life in this house, in this city, with this person. Six years of trying to have a baby with him. Year after year of negative tests and doctor visits and one specialist telling me that my blocked fallopian tube was the reason I wasn't getting pregnant. When I found out our surrogate was pregnant with my husband, I moved to his wealthy cousin.” Lila and Daniel’s third wedding anniversary celebration was going on well until Maya, Daniel’s best friend’s wife, shows up declaring she is carrying Daniel’s child. But that shouldn’t have been a problem since she was their surrogate, but Maya claimed she was the mother and Daniel, the father. Daniel claims it was a one vulnerable night. But Maya says they have had a full blown relationship for over a year. So, what really happened? Burdened by pain and anger, Lila asks for a divorce but in the midst of the divorce proceedings, she finds herself wrongfully attracted to Gray, Daniel’s distant cousin and boss.
View MoreDaniel grunted when Lila’s palm rubbed the head of his thing before she circled her hand around his raging length.
She knew how much he hated that. Except today she was doing it to tease him. He took his mouth from her ears and then back to her swollen lips.
She kissed him passionately, gratified that her husband returned the same eagerness she ventured.
It had been about two weeks since he last touched her this way. He had been so busy with work and the expansion of his company that he came back late and tired.
Therefore, swollen lips could not stop her from enjoying what she had been missing for the past two weeks.
Lila didn’t disappoint him, she ground her hips against him that it almost let out a pleasurable sigh upon their bodies rubbing each other.
Lila Coleman was the kind of beauty that didn't need to try. Not the kind that came from effort and early mornings and the right lightings. No.
She was the kind that just existed, easy and uncomplicated, like it had never once been a question. She was a brunette with fair skin and a tender face.
She had the relaxed posture of a woman completely comfortable in whatever room she walked into.
“ I love it when you dress in lingerie and wait up for me.” Daniel murmured into her ears as he kissed her neck.
She leaned in and kissed him softly, but his hands were already leaving her body.
“Ughhh.” She cried, trying to pull him closer. In as much as she would have wanted that night to tarry, her wish couldn’t be granted.
They had been in the act for over three hours since 3:15am. Maybe she thought she could regain all the lost time but that was certainly not today.
Daniel pulled back slightly, his chest still heaving from the exertion of the past hours. A lazy, satisfied smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he gazed down at his wife, her skin flushed and glowing under the dim bedside lamp.
Lila’s fingers lingered on his shoulders, reluctant to let him go, but he gently disentangled himself and rolled off the bed.
“Where are you going?” she murmured, her voice husky with lingering desire, propping herself up on one elbow.
The sheets pooled around her waist, revealing the delicate black lace lingerie that had started all of this.
Daniel didn’t answer right away. He padded across the room, his naked form moving with that confident stride she’d always loved. She squealed a little as his butt cheeks came in view.
The first hints of dawn were beginning to filter through the curtains, casting soft gray light over their bedroom.
He stopped in front of the tall wooden wardrobe, the one they’d picked out together during their honeymoon in Tuscany years ago.
He opened the left door, reached inside, and pulled out a sleek, matte-black gift box tied with a simple silver ribbon. It wasn’t large, but it looked luxurious. It was clearly something he’d hidden away for the right moment.
Turning back to her, Daniel climbed onto the bed again, settling beside her. “I’ve been carrying this around for days, waiting for a night like tonight,” he said, his voice coming out low and warm. He placed the box in her lap, his fingers brushing her thigh. “Open it.”
Lila’s eyes lit up with curiosity, the post-orgasm haze momentarily forgotten. She sat up fully, tucking her messy brunette waves behind one ear, and untied the ribbon with careful fingers.
Inside, nestled in soft tissue paper, was a stunning necklace. A delicate rose gold chain with a single teardrop diamond pendant that caught even the faint morning light.
Beside it lay a small card with his handwriting: For the woman who makes coming home worth every late night. I love you.
“Oh, Daniel…” she whispered, her tender face softening further. She lifted the necklace, letting it dangle between them. “It’s beautiful. You didn’t have to—”
“I wanted to,” he cut in, taking it from her hands. He moved behind her, sweeping her hair aside to clasp it around her neck. His lips pressed a lingering kiss to the nape of her neck as the cool diamond settled against her warm skin, just above the swell of her breasts.
“Happy anniversary my forever. Two weeks was too long. I’m sorry, baby. Work won’t come between us like that ever again.”
Lila turned in his arms, the necklace glinting as she straddled his lap once more. She kissed him deeply, pouring all her gratitude and renewed hunger into it.
“Thank you,” she breathed against his mouth. “Now… are you going to help me christen this properly, or do I have to beg?”
Daniel’s hands slid down to grip her hips, pulling her closer with a low chuckle. “No begging needed. But later tonight, I am going to devour you Lila Pérez.”
He kissed her again, “But today, today is for us to reminisce over everything we have been through these past years. Our planner should be here any minute.”
Lila smiled against his lips, the new diamond pendant warm against her skin from the heat of their bodies. “Four years already,” she whispered, tracing her fingers along his jaw.
“It still feels like yesterday when you spilled coffee all over my dress at that awful summer networking event and then spent the rest of the night trying to make it up to me.”
Daniel laughed softly, his thumb brushing the curve of her waist. “Best mistake I ever made. From that night to this one… you’ve made every late night at the company worth it.”
They stayed tangled together for a few more peaceful minutes, exchanging lazy kisses and quiet memories.
They talked about their chaotic honeymoon in Tuscany, the night they closed on their first house, the wild celebration when his company landed its biggest contract.
The morning light grew brighter, painting their bedroom in soft golds.
A sharp knock echoed from the front door downstairs.
“That must be the planner,” Daniel said, pressing one last kiss to her forehead before reluctantly sliding out of bed. He grabbed a robe and tossed Lila hers. “I’ll get it. You stay here and look gorgeous.”
Lila stretched languidly, the silk robe slipping over her shoulders as she admired the necklace in the mirror. She heard Daniel’s footsteps descend the stairs, the door open, and muffled voices.
Then came a sudden, tense silence. “Daniel?” she called out, frowning. But there was no answer.
Instead, she heard strange voices in her sitting room. Just as she was about to tiptoe down the stairs, she ran back to her room.
Her blood ran cold as she stepped toward the bedroom door with her heart hammering against her chest.
By the time she left the café, Drew had gone very quiet. The initial shock had hardened into something colder and more focused. He had asked the same questions more than once — whether the report was authentic, whether Sophia could have known, whether Daniel had been part of the deception or merely another person used by it. Lila answered what she could. Those were the exact same questions she had asked herself when the report came to her. What she could not answer hung between them just as heavily.Drew had not raised his voice. That almost made it worse. The restraint suggested a man already moving past disbelief and into decision. He kept the copy of the report. Before Lila stood to leave, he looked at her one last time and said, “Sophia doesn’t get to keep this story. Not anymore.”Lila nodded, then walked out. Behind her, Drew remained seated at the table, the phone still in front of him, the truth now fully in his possession. Whatever came next, be it confrontation, legal actio
Lila looked at him. “You think it was intentional.”“Lila, I think nothing about this situation has been accidental,” he replied. “And I think you should be careful who else knows you have that report.”Alex studied her again for a while and then gave a small nod. “I’ll look into the source,” he said. “Quietly. If someone inside the clinic or the legal chain is leaking results, we need to know who — and why they chose you.”Lila held his gaze. “And if it was deliberate?”“Then it means someone is already playing a deeper game than Daniel and Sophia, or someone is feeling sorry for you,” he replied. Lila gave a small nod, then stepped back toward the entrance of the building. This time he did not stop her.“Get some rest,” Alex said. She went inside without answering.Lila woke to the sound of her intercom buzzing. She rose, pulled on a robe, and answered.“It’s me,” Sonia’s voice came through, brightly and unexpectedly. “Surprise. I brought breakfast.”Lila blinked, still half caught
Lila stared at the phone in her hand for a long second, then looked up at Alexander. “I need a moment,” she said. “Alone.”Alex studied her face, then gave a slight nod. “All right.”He turned and began walking back toward the ballroom doors, his footsteps measured and unhurried. Lila watched him go for a few steps before she unlocked her phone and opened the full DNA report. The corridor around her seemed to narrow as she read. The first lines confirmed what the earlier message had claimed — the child did not biologically belong to Sophia in the way everyone had been told. Then the paternal markers appeared. Lila’s eyes moved down the page, her pulse climbing with every line.It wasn’t Daniel’s, It wasn’t anyone she had prepared herself to see. Her breath caught. The implications hit so hard and so fast that the phone nearly slipped from her fingers. For a moment she could only stand there, staring at the screen as the full weight of the result settled over her.“Gray.” His name ca
Daniel’s gaze snapped to him.“The company is no longer called Coleman Capital,” Alex said evenly. “That name was retired tonight. The correct one is Gray Holdings. You should get used to it.”The correction landed harder than a raised voice would have. It was quiet, factual, and absolute — another reminder that the ground under Daniel’s feet had already shifted.Daniel’s jaw flexed. For a second he looked as if he might lose the last of his restraint. Then he forced the words out through clenched teeth.“I just received the security footage from your building,” he said. “The two of you leaving together that afternoon. Looking very comfortable with each other.”Lila felt the accusation settle over the corridor like a weight.Daniel let out a short, bitter breath. “So that’s what this is. You take my company. You take my office. And somewhere in the middle of it, you start sleeping with my wife.”“Ex-wife,” Lila said coldly.Daniel’s eyes snapped to her. “The papers aren’t signed.”Ale
