"I asked again, are you in love with my enemy's daughter?" He roared like an angry lion.
Herald stared at him for a while and then burst into laughter.
"Is this really funny?" he asked with a long face. "Yes, infact you are a joker. You are aware I am a playboy; how can someone like me fall in love? I know Nathaniel loves you a lot, and I don't want you to make a mistake you will ever regret"
"Please Khalid, think about it," he said, and he sat down on the sofa.
"Stand up and get out of my house," he ordered authoritatively.
"Are you serious right now?" He asked, standing on his feet.
"Since you don't understand the excess of my revenge and have chosen to support my enemy in spite of everything, I think you are no longer needed here," he said, and put on a fierce look.
"I am not supporting your enemy; in fact, I want you to punish those old people very much. But not the innocent girl; can't you get that?" He tried to make him understand.
"Get out, or I will be forced to throw you out myself. Get out," he pointed towards the door.
He stood for a while, surprised. He didn't believe Khalid would walk him out of his house just because he was trying to persuade him not to punish an innocent girl for his parents' crime.
He gulps down his lumps and glares sternly at him.
"If I ever step foot here, call me a bastard," he said and walked out. Khalid took a deep breath and sat on the sofa.
Khalid POV
Why can't he understand anything? Even Jenny, whom we met ten years ago, understands me perfectly.
She always supports me in everything, but he's against me, knowing fully well how much this means to me. Why can't he understand this?
I feel really bad walking him out of my house, but I was hurt when he said he would never step foot here again.
I thought he was my brother; he always had my back, but today he stood against me. If he wants to cut me off from my revenge, then so be it. It is what it is.
I get up and push the table angrily, causing the glass on the table to fall and break.
"James, get this mess cleaned." I ordered my guard before dashing to my room.

Herald
I can't believe Khalid walked me out of his house, after everything. I gave up on my life just for him. All my life I have lived for him, just to make him happy after he lost his parents.
I am not great like my parents claim. Indeed, I am a fool. My best friend is doing well, and I leave my own job just to come and help him with his revenge. But today he didn't think twice before breaking the bond between us.
I have never been hurt like this in my entire life. My heart was deeply shattered.
My phone beeps. It was an unknown number. I picked up the phone and waited for the person to speak up.
"Hi, is this Herald Brown?" A feminine voice asked from the other end.
"How may I help you?" I asked.
"Okay, I will go straight to the point. "I am the person you book tonight," she said, and that got me mad.
"So you are the b*tch I am supposed to spend this night with. I must say that you are senseless, since I don't call you. Must you call? How foolish can someone like you be? Excuse me, don't ever call this number again," I snapped, and I ended the call.
Her call came in again. I didn't want to pick up, but I changed my mind as she wouldn't stop calling.
"What do you want exactly?" I asked angrily.
"I called you back to tell you that you are very stupid for insulting me in that manner. To hell with you and your problem. I cancelled all my deals today because you booked earlier, but I didn't realize I was talking to a fool. Screw you, guy," she snapped, and she ended the call.
She doesn't mean it. She actually called back just to insult me. human with strange behavior. I don't want to think about it. my head is already full, how can I stop Khalid and how will I save Nathaniel.
Should I call her and told her everything. I think for some while and resorted against it, I can't let Nathaniel know about this, she can tell her parent.
Khalid already come too far than to get my betrayal. No I won't do that. When I couldn't get myself together, I choosed to lay on my bed, glaring at the ceiling.

Edward
"So what's your plan after the wedding?" My wife asked.
"What do you think I could be planning?" You know me too well, so why ask?" I replied, drinking from a glass.
"I am confused, because you've never agreed to take 30% of anything from anyone before. So that's really hard for me to figure out. Just tell me your interior motive," my wife insisted.
"Mrs. Edward, I thought you are answering that name because you are as smart as me." But I realized your brain isn't like mine; your daughter actually inherited your short memory. "I scowled, but she hissed.
"I told you not to compare me to that girl; can't you see she's very dull, while I am so smart? Die with your plan then." She shouted and went to bed angrily.
"Hey woman, are you really mad at me? I was just joking" I said, and went to join her.
"If you can't tell me your plan, then there's no need to talk to me." She jerks my hand.
"You know I don't always have any better plans than to make sure all his wealth becomes ours. The marriage was just a pretense. I can't believe that little Brat makes me dance to his tune.
He made me agree that I will get 30% from my own business; I only asked him to invest in it because I am having issues, but it's obvious he's a glutton.
Who did he think he was? I have dealt with many people like him, and they paid with their life. It's a matter of time. He will regret ever giving me that condition.
I will really deal with him, even if he has to pay with his life. I don't care; all I care about is that I will own all of his wealth," I said, and I stood up from my bed, laughing hysterically as a smirks dance by the corner of my lips
. "Khalid, how dareyou joke with the lion in his den. You will regret joking with Edward. You are close to your death, son-in-law." My beautiful wife also stood on her feet.
I like that look. I love it when she's ready to hurt our enemy.
"We are going to conquer all our enemies together," she said, and she walked to the window.
"Then I will just say his days are counting." I said, and we both laughed.
Authoress
"How could they be planning on killing the man I love?" This isn't going to happen. Noooooo, I won't let this happen. Even if it's going to cause the Edward's life's
He moved closer to her with a cold and void expression, his eyes brimming with anger. Her heart pounded in her chest, and she moved back her pace in fright. She bit her lips, regretting why she asked him. He glared at her eyes. He wanted to scare the life out of her, but he found himself admiring her beauty instead. He didn't know what came over him; he wanted to bawl at her, but he couldn't as he slowly lost his voice with some desperation built in him. Then the word revenge pops up in his brain, bringing in some sparkles."Who are you?" He asked, and they were filled with confusion. Why is he asking who she is? "I am Nathaniel," she replied, her voice stripping off her throat. Herald wanted to laugh but couldn't; she never imagined Nathaniel would answer his question, and moreover, a question deserves an answer. He asked a question, and she gave him the right answer."Who told you I am not aware you are Nathaniel? Whenever I ask you who you are, you reply by saying you are my slave.
Author POV"Why are you always like this? You know I cannot fall for her. She's just my slave," he said, trying to act cold but ending up losing his voice. "I got it; that's unlike you. Just accept it already; you are in love with her," the Herald said, smiling."Can you cut the crap? I said I didn't love her. She's my enemy's daughter. I hate her a lot. I can't imagine seeing her face every day; it makes me mad." He said angrily, running his hand through his head. Herald chuckled dryly.",I wish you could see the sweet side of her. I am sure you won't regret this. You know I have choices when it comes to ladies, but this one is different. Everything about her made me wish I was the one to get married to her, then I would have treated her with all the affection in this life. Nathaniel doesn't deserve all this. The sooner you realize, the better for you," Herald advice."Didn't you say you weren't in love with her?" he asked, glaring dangerously at him."You can go to hell all I care;
Khalid POVI didn't know the reason why she went inside with Michelle; I wanted to know, but I couldn't bring myself to ask her that. So I just decided to keep quiet about it. I can't always cause nuisance every time. I don't really think it's something I will need to know. If I were supposed to know, I am sure she would tell me. Flashback"Khalid, thank goodness you are here." She shouted, and I scoffed. "What's up, Michelle? Where's Aunty?" I asked after her mom. "Mum is with Nathaniel, she had refused to eat because she got scolded by her father. Mum is trying to persuade her, can you please help her?" she asked, holding my hand. I was shocked to hear that. "I am here now; she will be fine.Let's go to her room," I replied, and we both ran to Nathaniel's room. She was crying on Michelle's mother leg. "Why are you not my mother? Those people really bad? How could they be my parents? "She cried and hugged her tightly. I looked at her with some pity. Then I wonder why I was pitying
Author POV"There’s nothing, we aren’t just a good term." Nathanial tried to cover up again, but Michelle didn’t believe her. "It’s obvious you are lying, how much lies are you going to tell. Common what’s going on" She asked holding her shoulder. She chuckled staring at her. "I am in a total mess, Michelle," she said with teary eyes."What is that? Stop scaring me," she asked, putting on a sad face. She explained everything to her. She felt really bad for her. "This is so bad, you are going through a lot. I wish I could bear this pain with you. I am sorry, sis. I promised to always be there for you." But I couldn’t even see your pain, but Khalid never leaves any trace. "He was even nice to me down there; why is he doing all this?" she said, trying to hold back her tears. "Common, you don’t have to blame yourself; this isn’t your fault at all, infact, and you are such a nice person..So stop blaming yourself—this is my parent's fault; maybe it was a mistake choosing them as my pare
Author POV"This is my time; tonight I will be with him." I will not invite Herald, as he asked. I want to be alone with him so I can make sure he's not falling for her. I can't lose the man I have loved for the past ten years to an enemy's daughter. "I don't mind if they die, what matters is that Khalid will be mine no matter what," Jenny thought and smiled. "Let me see you out," Khalid said, and he saw her out to the garage. *****Nathaniel room "I had the feeling that Jenny was up to no good, and I was right. I confirmed that today. What did she think—that she could take Khalid away from me? Not possible. I will go against anyone just for him. "My happiness lies in him, and I will make sure that wasn't taken away," Nathaniel growled, pacing back and forth in her room. Her phone beeped, and she checked the caller ID. She picked it up immediately. "Star girl, what's up?" Herald said from the other end of the line with an imaginary smile. Nathaniel couldn't control herself and la
Khalid POVI was still thinking of how to tell Nathaniel about the party, but I don't think I can do that. So, I passed a call across to Herald, but he refused to help me and told me to do that myself. I am the husband, right? Why am I being shy to ask her this? When I can just command her, this guy has really placed me in a very big situation. I will try my best. I kept rummaging on how to do that when I heard Jenny and Nathaniel's voices from downstairs."Oh, my goodness! Jenny can actually harm her," I thought and rushed to the living room. But it's obvious I was already late, as Nathaniel was coming upstairs with anger written all over her. I haven't seen her in this way before, she really looks like a Lucifer bride with that face. On getting to where I was standing, she stopped and smiled. "I love you, Khalid, with everything, and I will fix this no matter what," she said to me with teary eyes, then gave Jenny an eyeroll before leaving for her room. I was dazed for some minutes,
