CHAPTER 14: HOME SICK

Breakfast was as uneventful as it had been the previous night, other than Erika and Winston who joined them halfway through it, no one else came. Erika chatted nonstop, while the others listened and commented once in a while to her, no one missing the sight of Winston carefully selecting her meals and watching over her in a loving way that could make any woman envious. He carefully told her to eat slowly whenever she chewed too fast, and to finish chewing before she spoke, whenever she spoke with food in her mouth, causing Anna to smile at them.

This was the life she had imagined for herself, a life filled with love, laughter, and the care of her mate, just like in the fairy tales she had read, but instead…, she glanced at Myron, who did not even say a single word to her or anybody as he ate and sighed.
