THIRD PERSON'S POV

Zach knew the plan was too good to be true, but he still couldn't help but pursue it. He knew he should trash the document and forget he ever saw it, but he had already made all the mental calculations in his head. They would make millions of dollars if it were true.

"Snap out of it, Zach. You know it can't be real." He kept telling himself but he couldn't help but open the document over and over again. He read the document over and over again until he could recite most of it by heart.

"This is crazy," he said to himself as he sat down to make a rough estimate and calculations. He took into account the manpower that they would need and how long it would take to have it running. By his rough calculations, the factory would be up and running in eighteen months, at most twenty-four months, and they wouldn't even have to spend one penny. That would also mean employment for the pack members.

A second factory would mean more money for the pack. Maybe they could finally

LUCAS' POV Right before our eyes, Zoey became confident. It was like a switch had been turned in her. "What are you talking about?" "You know what I'm talking about, Alpha. I felt it that day when you shook my hand. I've always felt like there was something strange about my boyfriend, but I thought it was because of my own senses." "So, you are a witch." I said, and she nodded. "I didn't say anything because I thought you were human." "August doesn't know you're not human?" I asked. "To be fair, we were both hiding something from each other." "You never suspected him, and he never suspected you?" "I had my suspicions. He heals faster than normal, and he never says anything about his family's business." "That's not enough." "I know. I didn't know what it was, but I knew he was hiding something." "Let's talk about your family, Zoey." Lucas abruptly changed the direction of the conversation. "What about them?" "What's your angle here?" "I don't understand." "Why are yo

ARIA'S POV "Whoa, whoa, when you say she's a witch, what does that mean?" I said after I picked up my jaws from the floor. "That she's a witch?" He looked confused, but I was, too."A literal one.""Yes, Aria. I wouldn't call her a witch to insult her." He deadpanned."I know. How? She looks so sweet." "And?""I don't know? She just doesn't strike me as a witch.""That's because you don't have any positive experience with witches. Most of them are normal and good. I think that's why she was a little bit stunned when we met. She could tell that I'm not human.""Does that mean they have both been hiding things from each other?""I bet they told her to wait a year before exposing her true nature.""Wow, that's really cute.""I guess it is. She comes from a long line of reputable witches and seers, too.""Are we going to say something to her?""That we dug into her and did a background check on her?""That's not good conversation, I know.""We will figure it out. Come to bed." He did a

ARIA'S POV "Red eyes? What are you kids talking about?" I smiled to hide how bothered and nervous I was.Zachary stood up from his bed, and I picked them both up to sit on my lap. My babies were getting bigger, and it wouldn't be long before they grew taller than me.Rosa spoke up first. "Mummy, when I slept, there was a man.""Did you see his face?" Zachary thought about it for a moment before he answered."No, Mummy.""No, Mummy." Rosa added. "It was really scary.""Yes, Mummy. I was scared." If they were scared, then I was terrified. My babies were having the same dreams that I was having, and that gave me serious concerns.Whatever was going on in my dream was serious, and I needed to find out what it could mean before it hurt my children. "Mummy?""Zachary, Rosa, there's no need to be scared.""Mummy, why?""Why are you seeing the red man?" Rosa giggled, and I tickled them to distract them from the question I had no answer to. "I'm going to reduce your screen time. You might ha

  • HER SECOND CHANCE MATE   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED-TWELVE

ARIA'S POV Of all the things that were happening to me recently, this was the last thing I thought would happen to me. Zoey showing up. "Zoey? You're the Zoey August is always going on about?" I smiled, and that made her relax a bit. "He talks about me?" "Only all the time." I came to my senses and realized that I was keeping her outside. "Pardon my manners, please come in." "Thank you." She followed me in, and I took her to the garden. There, we sat on a bench while we waited for a maid to bring us refreshments. "I would like you to meet my husband, if you don't mind. Then, we can get to why you're here." I know why she was here. She wanted to know where her boyfriend was and why he hadn't shown up to school for a while now. "Um, of course not." If anything, she looked grateful to get some time to pull herself together. She was nervous. I would be, too, if I were meeting my boyfriend's family without any prior notice. Lucas was in the middle of a meeting when I pulled him ou

  • HER SECOND CHANCE MATE   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED-ELEVEN

ARIA'S POV They were back. The voices in my dreams. This was not the first time, and I could only hope that this would be the last time. Like the first time it happened a few weeks ago, I woke up in the thick woods, but I knew I was in my bed. I was scared and cold, and they urged me to stand up. The first time it happened, I refused to stand up from the cold until Lucas shook me awake. The voices roared. The second week, the voices had faces. Red glowing eyes, urging me. What they wanted me to do was still unclear, but I knew I wanted no part of it. They called my name and chanted in some language I couldn't understand. Their voices were deep and grotesque. It was happening again tonight. This time, it was a single voice calling my name. He whispered it as if it were a secret. I could feel the voices coming nearer, and I drew away in fear, but I knew there was nothing I could do. I was trapped in this dream. "Get away." I found my voice, and it was suddenly bright. "Aria, wak

  • HER SECOND CHANCE MATE   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED-TEN

ARIA'S POV Three days later, August was still in a coma. Lucas said it wasn't so much of a coma as it was a deep sleep."Why is he not waking up then?""Because, like the doctor said, he needs to rest. He has suffered from a great shock, and he needs to recover from it. "Still no word from my parents?""Nothing." Lucas sent messengers over to my parents' pack, and I was greatly worried as to what they would find. It's been three whole days now, and there's still no word from them or the pack. It was just radio silence. "Aria, we're going to find your parents no matter where they may be.""What if they have also vanished like the rest?""No, baby, we can't allow ourselves to think that way.""You don't know that.""Your brother escaped. That's enough reason for me to believe that they were taken, not killed. Now, your brother is going to wake up any moment now, and he will tell us what's really going on, okay?"I allowed that piece of information to calm me down. Maybe they were real
