46. The escape

Owen’s POV

What do I do now?

How do I hide Ruby from my father? All I know is that I can't let anything bad happen to my mate, it took so much to have her with me, and I'm not going to let go of her easily. I will fight until my last breath for her, and this is my promise. I have to take her back home, I know how much she misses her family. All I want is to make her happy.

“Where do we go from here?” She asks, clinging to my hand tightly. I stop in my tracks to assure her, I don't want her to worry about a thing, I will do all the worrying.

“Baby.” I mutter looking at her closely, I feel her heart beating so loudly. “I'm here with you and won't let anything happen to you.” I say, but she doesn't look convinced.

“That's not what I'm worried about Owen, I'm just so afraid that you might abandon me like you did all in the name of saving me.” She purrs, pain written all over her beautiful face. I only did that to save her life, but it doesn't justify my behavior, I literally gave her
