HE IS A DISAPPOINTMENT

My parents' forever home now appears deserted. I haven't been a good son, neglecting my parents and failing to appreciate their watch over me. I have been cheated by the time all these months, but I'm here, standing before their abandoned dwelling, hoping to reunite with them.

I gently place the bouquet of white roses I brought for my mother on the ground and lean down, offering it to her. "Hello, Mum. I hope you've been well. I know, I've missed you too. These are freshly picked flowers for you, I hope you like them." I swept the dust off her concreted plate, "it's hard to find turnips nowadays, hope you love them."

Mum's favorite flower was white roses. I couldn't find them at the florist shop, and I bought the readily available ones. Thankfully, they are still white.
