Chapter 9

(Caleb's POV)

After our wedding, we were the talk of the country. Our photos were printed in every magazine and newspaper, and paparazzi followed everyone and everything related to us. It was getting on my nerves, but thankfully the spotlight will go away in a few weeks.

I will be having a meeting later with some of my investors at the event, and I worked the entire morning together with the paper works, compiling it on my table.

After hours of working, I lengthened my arms and opened a drawer to take some painkillers. But as I was about to reach it, the phone suddenly ring.

"Yes?"

"Mr. Carter, the charity event will be moved by two hours earlier, as requested by the investors." it was Kent, my secretary on the other line.
