The armored SUV glided through the darkened streets like a shark cutting through black water. Bella pressed herself against the door, trying desperately to create distance between her body and Lucian Cross. The city lights outside the tinted windows streaked by in blurs of gold, red, and neon, but she barely registered them. Her mind was a whirlwind of fear, rage, shame, and the lingering ghost of his touch from the night before.

Lucian sat beside her like he owned the vehicle, the city, and her. His long legs were spread wide, one arm draped along the back of the seat so that his fingers occasionally brushed her shoulder. Every accidental touch sent unwanted electricity racing across her skin. She hated how aware she was of him — the subtle scent of his expensive cologne, the heat radiating from his powerful body, the way his mere presence filled the entire space and made it hard to breathe.

“I still don’t understand why you’re doing this,” she said, breaking the heavy silence for the third time. Her voice was tight with barely contained frustration. “You could have said no to my father. You could have let me disappear somewhere safe. Why take me in if you hate him so much?”

Lucian turned his head slowly. Those piercing grey eyes locked onto her face with unnerving intensity, as if he could see every secret thought she tried to hide. “Because refusing would have been the easy choice. And I stopped making easy choices a long time ago, Bella. Especially when it comes to you.”

Bella let out a bitter, humorless laugh. “That’s not an answer. That’s just more of your control games.”

“It’s the only answer you’re getting tonight,” he replied calmly, turning to look out the window again. “You’ll learn soon enough that I don’t explain myself to anyone. Not even you.”

The rest of the drive passed in suffocating silence. When they finally arrived at the safe house — a nondescript industrial building on the outskirts of the city, surrounded by high fences and armed guards — Bella’s heart was pounding so hard she felt nauseous. Marcus and two other security men flanked them as they entered the dimly lit building.

Her father looked like a ghost of the man she had grown up admiring.

Victor Vale rushed forward the moment he saw her, pulling her into a desperate, crushing hug. “Bella… my God, you’re really here. I’ve been losing my mind worrying about you every single second.”

She clung to him tightly, burying her face in his shoulder as hot tears spilled down her cheeks. For the first time since this nightmare began, she felt a sliver of safety. “Dad… please. Take me with you. I can’t stay with him. He’s controlling everything. He kissed me. He touched me without my permission. I don’t feel safe there at all.”

Victor stiffened in her arms. He pulled back slowly and looked over her shoulder at Lucian, who stood several feet away like a dark, imposing statue, arms crossed, watching the emotional reunion with cold, calculating eyes.

“Is that true?” Victor asked, his voice low and strained with barely contained emotion.

Lucian didn’t flinch or look away. “She’s under my protection now. How I choose to protect her is between me and her. You made that choice when you begged me to take her in.”

Bella’s father looked devastated. Guilt, fear, and resignation warred across his tired face. “Bella… I have no choice. The people coming after me are ruthless. They’ve already killed two of my closest associates. Lucian has the resources, the security network, the power to keep you hidden. If they find you with me, they’ll use you to destroy us both.”

“I don’t care!” Bella cried, her voice breaking with raw desperation. “I’d rather be free and in danger than locked up with him like some kind of pet or bargaining chip.”

Lucian moved then. In two long, purposeful strides he was beside her. His large hand wrapped around her upper arm and pulled her firmly away from her father. The grip wasn’t painful, but it was unyielding. She tried to yank away, but he held her easily, as if she weighed nothing.

“Enough,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “This isn’t helping anyone. We don’t have much time.”

Victor looked between them, pain etched deep into every line of his face. “Sweetheart… survive. Play along for now. I swear on my life I’ll find a way to get you out of this. Just stay safe and trust the process.”

The goodbye was rushed and heartbreaking. Victor hugged her one last time, whispering desperate promises he couldn’t possibly keep, then they were being ushered back outside toward the waiting SUV.

The moment the doors closed and the vehicle started moving, Bella exploded with all the fury and fear she’d been holding back for days.

“You’re a monster!” she shouted, turning on Lucian with tears streaming down her face. “You enjoyed every second of that, didn’t you? Watching my father beg. Seeing him broken while you hold all the power. This isn’t protection. This is revenge wrapped in a pretty lie!”

Lucian’s hand shot out, gripping her chin firmly and forcing her to meet his eyes. His touch was warm but unyielding. “Watch your tone, little girl. You have no idea what I’ve sacrificed to keep you safe these past few days. The enemies watching your father are more dangerous than you can imagine.”

“I hate you,” she whispered, voice trembling with raw emotion. “I hate everything about you and this situation you’ve trapped me in.”

His thumb brushed slowly across her lower lip, the gesture almost gentle despite the intensity burning in his gaze. “Good. Hate me. Fight me. It keeps you sharp and alive. But you will stay with me, Bella. Even if I have to chain you to my side every single day to make sure of it.”

The threat hung between them, thick and dangerous. Bella’s body betrayed her with a shiver that had nothing to do with fear. The worst part was the small, traitorous voice in the back of her mind that whispered how safe she had felt when he shielded her during the earlier confrontation with her father.

Before she could respond, the SUV swerved violently.

“Ambush!” the driver shouted.

Gunshots exploded in the night air. Bullets slammed into the armored sides with terrifying force. The vehicle rocked as the driver accelerated, tires screeching on the pavement.

Lucian reacted instantly. He shoved Bella down across the seat and covered her completely with his own body. His weight was heavy and solid, his heartbeat strong and steady against her back as chaos erupted outside.

“Stay down,” he growled in her ear, one hand protecting the back of her head. “I’ve got you. They won’t touch you. Not while I’m alive.”

Bella was terrified, her heart hammering wildly, but the feeling of Lucian shielding her with his own body did something dangerous to her mind. In the middle of gunfire and fear, she felt strangely, horrifyingly safe.

The shooting seemed to last forever, though it was probably only seconds. When it finally stopped and the car sped away into the night, Lucian slowly lifted off her. His hands immediately checked her for injuries, lingering on her waist and arms with surprising gentleness.

“Are you hurt?” he asked, his voice rough with something that sounded dangerously close to fear.

Bella shook her head, tears still falling silently. She was shaking uncontrollably from adrenaline and terror.

Without a word, Lucian pulled her into his lap, wrapping his strong arms around her and holding her tightly against his chest. For once, there was no overt dominance in the gesture — only raw, protective instinct.

“You’re safe,” he murmured against her hair, his voice low and soothing. “As long as you’re with me, no one will ever hurt you. I swear it on everything I have.”

In that moment, wrapped in the arms of the man she was supposed to hate more than anyone else in the world, Bella realized the terrifying truth with crystal clarity:

She was starting to believe him.

And that scared her more than the bullets ever could.

The car continued speeding into the night, carrying her deeper and deeper into Lucian Cross’s dangerous world — a world where protection felt a lot like possession, escape seemed more impossible with every passing second, and her own body and heart were beginning to betray her mind in ways she never imagined possible.

She had no idea how she was going to survive this… or if she even wanted to escape anymore.

Bella spent the entire next day testing the limits of her golden cage. She woke up determined. She would not let Lucian Cross break her spirit. After breakfast (which she ate in silence while he watched her like a hawk), she waited until he disappeared into his home office for a conference call. Then she made her move. The mansion was huge. There had to be a way to get a message out. She found a small study room on the second floor with an old desktop computer. Her heart raced as she powered it on, praying it wasn’t monitored as heavily as the main systems. She managed to open a web browser and started typing a desperate message to her best friend’s private email — just a few words: “I’m with Lucian Cross. Please tell Dad I’m okay but I need help.”The screen suddenly went black.A deep voice behind her made her jump. “Did you really think it would be that easy?”Bella spun around. Lucian stood in the doorway, arms crossed, expression thunderous. He looked like he hadn’t slept much ei

Bella woke up the next morning in a bed that wasn’t hers, in a house that felt like a luxurious prison. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the guest suite Lucian had assigned her. The room was beautiful — soft grey tones, a massive king bed with silk sheets, a private balcony overlooking the city — but it did nothing to calm the storm inside her.She sat up, pulling the covers to her chest even though she was wearing pajamas. Her mind replayed the night before on an endless loop: Lucian’s mouth on hers, his fingers inside her, the way he’d denied her release and walked away like it was nothing. Her cheeks burned with a mix of shame and lingering arousal.*This is wrong,* she told herself firmly. *He’s my father’s enemy. Twice my age. Dangerous.* She couldn’t let last night happen again. She wouldn’t.A soft knock sounded on the door.“Miss Vale? Breakfast is ready. Mr. Cross is waiting for you in the dining room.”Bella dressed quickly in jeans and a simple swea

Bella followed Lucian through the vast marble foyer into the main living area. The mansion was breathtaking — modern luxury at its finest. Soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass walls revealing a sparkling city skyline, dark leather sofas, and expensive artwork that probably cost more than most people’s houses. Everything screamed wealth, control, and power.“Sit down,” Lucian ordered, his deep voice echoing slightly in the large space. He didn’t ask. He commanded.Bella lowered herself onto the edge of the oversized sofa, tugging nervously at the hem of her short white sundress. She was still bare underneath from her earlier masturbation session, and the cool air kissing her sensitive skin made her hyper-aware of every movement.Lucian poured himself a generous glass of amber whiskey from a crystal decanter, then turned to face her. At 6’4” with his broad shoulders and powerful build, he looked every bit the ruthless billionaire. His black shirt was unbuttoned at the collar, reveal

Bella Vale lay naked on her king-sized bed, the cool silk sheets caressing her flushed skin. The bedroom was dim, lit only by the soft glow of her bedside lamp. At nineteen, she was supposed to be the perfect, innocent daughter of Victor Vale — but behind closed doors, she was anything but.Her legs were spread obscenely wide, one hand kneading her full, perky breast while the other worked frantically between her thighs. Two fingers plunged in and out of her dripping pussy with wet, obscene sounds. She was soaked, her arousal coating her fingers and dripping down to the sheets.“Fuck…” she moaned softly, eyes squeezed shut. Her mind filled with the same forbidden image that always pushed her over the edge: Lucian Cross. The 41-year-old billionaire. Her father’s most dangerous enemy. Tall, muscular, commanding — a man who looked at her like he wanted to devour her whole. She imagined his large, rough hand replacing hers, his thick fingers stretching her virgin hole while he growled dir
