Chapter Four

I woke up in fright my heart pounding hard in my chest.

What was that dream about? I questioned myself as I wiped off the beads of sweat from my face, I was startled deeply by the abrupt bang on my door

.

“Amelia dear are you okay?” my grandma asked her voice filled with worry.

“Yes Grandma I’m okay just a dream,” I said convincing myself and her.

“Okay come downstairs quick we have visitors,” she said excitedly and I felt my heart drop into my stomach, I was just being paranoid it might just be the neighbors next door.

I quickly put on my bra and brushed my teeth, washing my face I tie my hair into a messy bun, clipping it with a hair clip, I put on my slippers and rush downstairs.

“Grandma!?” I called as I rushed downstairs only to stop at the last step fear gripping me; sitting on the couch was the mafia King and his men talking to my grandma.

“Oh Amelia come here," she said gesturing with her arms for me to come over.

I walked meekly to her side avoiding eye contact with the Mafia King.

"Uhh mum what are they doing here?" I squeaked out my voice filled with fear.

"Oh darling don't be scared, they are here from that job interview you applied online, which you didn't even tell me about," She said in a happy tone.

"Job interview?" I said as my eyes trailed to the Mafia King, his eyes squinted to a cold glare as if to say.

"Mess this up your grandma would be gone" I shivered with fear as I looked into his eyes.

"Yes dear the one you applied for as a chef in Italy," She said overexcited.

"Italy" I gasped out loud without meaning to and the field glare that fell on my face made me shiver biting my tongue.

"Uh.. yes mum the job interview I forgot I applied online for Italy I must have forgotten," I said with a tight smile.

"Ohh my baby is gonna be a chef in Italy" She squeaked clasping her hands together.

"Yeah.. a toasted one" I gritted out, and one of the men that accompanied the Mafia king chuckled softly, speaking of the Mafia king I finally got a good view of him, his striking green eyes which had flecks of brown in them gazed at me with a cold look, he was clad in a Black dress suit and black trousers, his raven black hair jelled neatly to the side, he was well built his muscles rippled whenever he moves.

"We would be taking Amelia Starling today to the airport as she is to start work tomorrow," The Mafia King said his eyes trailing over me.

"Oh my so quick?" My grandma pouted.

"Yes ma'am but we promise to send money for your upkeep every month as Amelia would no longer be with you," he said.

Grandma quickly stands up from the couch her eyes filled with tears as she hugged me.

"Oh Mia dear I'm going to miss you so much, your parents must be very proud of you wherever they are," She said patting my head.

"Mum please don't cry, I'll come to visit you during the holidays hopefully," I said softly hoping she would calm down as I wasn't even sure if I would be alive till then.

"Yeah hopefully" The Mafia king replied with sarcasm dripping from his words.

"Yeah I know you would, you will always want to taste your grandma's lasagna," She said sweetly kissing my forehead, I smiled softly tears pricking at the corners of my eyes as I swallow the huge lump in my throat.

"Yeah mum"

"Let me go pack my bags," I said turning around.

"Hold on there is no need to, your clothes have already been set for you in Italy," the Mafia King said.

"And what about my clothes don't I need to change them?" I asked with raised eyebrows.

"No you do not need to, now let's go" he gritted out fist clenched at his side.

I frowned deeply before turning back to look at my grandma, kissing her forehead I hid her one last goodbye.

"I'll miss you grandma make sure you take your drugs at the appropriate time and don't stress too much," I said with tears in my eyes, I finally willed myself to turn around grabbing the picture of us from the side table and walked out of the house with the Mafia king in my front and the three guards at my sides enabling I don't escape.

As if I would anyway.

They guided me to a black limo, one of the guys by my side opens the door and I get in the Mafia king following the other way as the others went in front, the guy who opened the door for me sat in front of me while the Mafia king sat by my side.

Fear gripped me as I tightened my hold on the frame which I held, staring at my house my grandma staring back at the limo tears streaming down her face, I feel my tear fall as she turned her back to me and entered inside, shutting the door behind her.

My tears streamed faster as I realized I was in the same car with killers, I visibly gulped my tears running like an open tap, I kept clutching the frame hard while staring at my house get smaller and smaller till we were out of my street into another.

"Grip it harder and it will break" the Mafia King finally spoke up, I don't glance at him or acknowledge the fact he had spoken to me I just kept staring out the window, my face filled with dried salty tears.

"I have a few rules I would like for you to know before we get to Italy"...
