Mag-log inJARED'S POV
I stared at the bright faces before me. The sparkle in their eyes caught me unaware and made me wonder what was going on.
We stepped out of the car, hoping to enter the new house Sterly said he bought for our fake marriage, but instead, we met four strangers standing at the entrance with radiant smiles on their faces.
An older scentless woman, an older Alpha man, and two younger Alphas... a man and a woman.
The middle-aged couple looked really good. The man looked handsome, and so was the woman, but the younger ones weren't left behind either. Especially the female, she looked more like a doll, and if I were still a beta, I would have thought she was a strong omega.
I stared dumbfoundedly, waiting for them to say anything. But my eyes lingered on the younger female more because I couldn't stop thinking she looked familiar.
I stared more intently, and my eyes slowly widened. I turned around swiftly, my eyes fell on Sterly's exquisitely handsome face, and then I glanced at the lady again. While Sterly's beauty transcended gender without tipping into androgyny, the lady's beauty wasn't so exaggerated. But their lips were exactly the same, and the coldness in their eyes was identical.
"Oh my goodness!" The middle-aged woman exclaimed and moved forward. She caught my hands in hers and drew me closer to her. "Look at the adorable little thing. This is my son-in-law, isn't he?" She didn't seem to be asking anyone, though.
Her fingers moved to my hair, and she gently stroked it down. "He's so adorable." She cooed. "Look at those big pearly eyes. Where did Sterly find a partner this adorable?"
The word 'adorable' never left her mouth. She raised a hand multiple times, seemingly planning to touch my cheeks, but stopped herself at the last minute. Her eyes wouldn't stop flashing.
I could tell she was dying to touch my cheeks.
But wait, were my cheeks that charming? No one ever told me that.
I couldn't help but smile too. The woman was too nice, and the aura around her made someone relax. I couldn't muster any resistance with her, and judging by her earlier words, I could tell she was Sterly's mother.
Although the relationship between Sterly and me was fake, his mother had no idea, and the love in her eyes was genuine.
My eyes caught the smiling middle-aged man beside her. His smile widened every second, to the extent that it looked like his cheeks might tear, but he wouldn't stop. He kept rubbing his palm, almost nervously, and his eyes lingered on his wife often, as if waiting for her to let me go so he could also speak to me.
I also looked at the young man and woman by the side, but they, too, were staring back. The female's cold expression had morphed into a pleasant smile, and the man was smiling hard, too. Looking closely, the man really looked like his father...
"Let's go inside, shall we?" The female proposed.
"Inside? Which inside?" Only then did Sterly reply.
His cold tone was a stark contrast to the cozy atmosphere.
"How did you even find this place out? I hid it enough." He questioned with a bit of annoyance in his tone.
The mother rolled her eyes and sneered. "Did you think buying the house under your partner's name would stop us from finding out?" She released my hand and approached Sterly. She pinned his ear and pulled. "Say, were you really adamant on keeping my son-in-law away from me?" She sounded angry.
Sterly's expression crumbled into a painful groan.
The father rushed forward, but the two younger ones beat him to it. "Mum, Sterly is in pain." The female pointed out. Her tone sounded agitated, which surprised me.
Sterly wasn't a life doll, was he?
He wouldn't break from a simple ear pinch... right?
But I seemed to be the only one with that idea...
The brother also held the mother's arm. "Mum, you know Sterly is always like that. You don't have to hurt him for this." He pleaded.
The father covered the mother's hand that was pinching Sterly's ear with a perplexed expression on his face. Anyone else would have thought he was the one being punished. "Don't hurt our son, dear. He's in pain already."
The mother snorted and pulled away. "I only wanted to teach him a bit of a lesson. Why are you all treating me like a violent woman?" She clicked her tongue in annoyance and returned to my side.
"My darling, come with me, let's go inside." She took my hand again.
I nodded, still in a daze. I still found it hard to comprehend the drama that took place before me.
The family was still with Sterly, pacifying him like he was broken!
And he... his expression was still as cold as ever.
I followed his mother inside, warmth still lingering on my hand where she held it. I shouldn't have felt envious... but I did.
JARED"Jared?" The class had only begun for an hour when I heard my name being called. I rubbed my dizzy eyes and pulled away the jacket I rested my head on. Looking around, I saw the bald-headed professor staring at me with a smile on his face. "Jared?" He called again. He walked closer and stood before me. "The Vice Chancellor requests your presence." He said. My heart skipped a beat. The Omega annual event... I had missed it and didn't even call the school to explain. How angry must they be at the moment?I had no idea what to think, and my head was starting to ache. Stephen rubbed my back. "You can call Mr Sterly and ask for his help." He whispered. Hearing that, my eyes lit up, and I immediately brought out my phone from my bag. While doing that, I also kept the jacket, which still had a bit of Sterly's scent on it inside my bag, hoping the scent could be retained longer. "Let's go," I said to the professor and stood up. Nodding at Stephen, I walked toward the professor
JAREDSterly drove me down to the school and dropped me off at the school gate. Watching as the car drove off, a small smile hung at the corner of my lips while my hands clutched the straps of my backpack... Well... It was Sterly's backpack. The familiar scent of cedarwood surrounded me, creating comfort even in an environment that no longer felt familiar. Right now, only Sterly was familiar. Only his presence could make me feel at peace. This nesting... It was a wonderful thing. After waiting at the gate for more than three minutes, watching as everyone entered and left the school, I still couldn't push down my desire to return home. My lips pursed, thoughts whirling in my mind as I thought of what excuse to make so I could go to Sterly..."Jared?" A cheerful voice called. Turning around, I saw Stephen approaching with a wide smile on his face. He wore a huge hoodie that made him look slimmer than he used to be, along with a scarf around his neck, probably to protect himself
JAREDTime passed, and it was time to resume again. I stood before the mirror with a dejected expression on my rosy face. Having been deliberately nurtured by Sterly for the past two weeks: eating, sleeping, and even enjoying his massage, my skin had long gotten better and flawless. But none of the radiance that was evident in my eyes for the past two weeks could be seen at this moment. I was pretty sad. Sniffing the air, the nice scent of Sterly's body wash entered my nose, and my gloomy heart slightly calmed. To lessen my sadness, I had used his body wash instead and had even worn his used shirt, but this only helped elevate the loneliness in my heart. This had been really strange to me until a week ago, when I asked the omega doctor about my experience, and he explained it better to me. While the mark on my gland wasn't permanent, it had been done twice, and my heart had also been shaken. "You've entered your nesting period." He'd said. Nesting period... a strange term I h
JARED"You got something for me?"Stephen looked surprised. I was, too. Sterly nodded, rubbing his brows. "Yes. Some baby things were shared during the last parents' ceremony organized by the company." He explained, shrugging. Stephen and I immediately understood. So, after getting those things, instead of sending them to charity homes like most rich bachelors always did, Sterly thought of Stephen instead. A smile bloomed on my face, and I couldn't help but hold Sterly's hand. "Thank you," I mumbled. He nodded, his expression as calm as always. Stephen also bowed slightly. "Thanks, Mr Sterly." He appreciated. Sterly nodded at him, ruffled my hair, and headed toward the kitchen. Knowing what he wanted to do, I thought of stopping him but soon thought against it and sat down instead. Stephen also had his seat. "He's so cool." He commented. Pride welled up within me as I nodded. "Didn't Ryan get those things, too?" This had belatedly crossed my mind. If those things were shared
JAREDSeeing Stephen's state, I snapped out of my daze and took his hand to lead him in. Looking around, I realised he had come alone, which surprised me a little as Ryan had always been with him since he got pregnant. I took him to the couch and helped him sit. Stephen grunted with each step. He breathed in relief when he finally sat on the couch, and he closed his eyes, relaxing his whole body like he had no strength. My brows furrowed. The pregnancy shouldn't be more than three months. Why was Stephen so exhausted already? I went in to boil water for him and handed it over. "Take this," I said, sitting beside him. I watched as he drank the water, and his pale face finally regained some color. He dropped the cup and shook his head. "This place is really far. I thought I could get it with the description you gave to me, but even after getting down at the junction, I had to walk for twenty minutes before I could get here." He exclaimed, removing his sweatshirt, and left a white
JARED"Yes, porridge is good," I replied, hiding half of my face under the duvet as if that would cover the dirty thoughts in my head. Sterly didn't seem to notice anything as he nodded his head and turned around to leave. "You should rest. I will wake you up when I'm done." He said when he got to the door. "Hm." Then, he opened the door and left. Watching the closed door that separated me from Sterly, unwillingness brewed in my heart, and the sleepiness immediately disappeared. Without thinking twice, I removed the duvet covering me up and climbed down from the bed. The sore pain from my waist has greatly reduced, but walking is still a bit painful. I endured and slowly put on oversized pajamas. After that, I fixed my hair with my fingers and rushed out of the room. I made my way downstairs and rested my back on the kitchen door as I watched Sterly cook. Noticing my presence, he glanced at me and raised a brow. "Why are you here? I thought you wanted to sleep." He said. I c
