“I'm not a whore.” I snort glaring at him.
“No one said you are.”
“Paying me for sex insinuates that.”
“Just wanna feel how a tomboy tastes like.”
“If you don’t need anything else, I will leave.” He is starting to irritate me.
“I need something else tomboy.”
“I’m Frankie sir. It’s on my tag.” I say showing him the name tag.
“I know. I can see that.”
Some nerve he has.
“Good.” I turn to leave.
“Not done asking for what I need.”
“What!” I snap turning to look at him. I shouldn’t be rude at the customers but this one is really getting on my nerves. I’m trying to be nice to him.
Yeah. This is me being nice. When I decide to explode I will be fired so I rather play it cool.
“No way to talk to customers. I want you tomboy. Just one round and we will be done.”
“I’m not doing that.” I turn to leave again.
“Bring me water.”
I shut my eyes trying not to snap at him. I open them, calm this time round and give him a smile.
“Right away.”
I walk to the counter and take a sharp breathe. He is so exasperating. Annoying. Irritating. Any word that you want to fix there.
“Any hope?” Tim asks propping his elbows on the counter.
“The dude is a jerk.”
“Why? Can’t crack that one?”
“I can but I don’t want to.”
“Why? You can win the bet.”
“He wants to pay me. I’m not a whore Tim.”
“Can’t see any difference with what you do.”
“You are a dickhead. Give me a bottle of water. He needs it.”
“Seems like you are going to be fixed on that table the whole day. Wait until the manager sees it.” He grins.
“Customers first. Isn’t that his policy?” I bat my eyelashes at him and walk to the table. I pour some water into a glass and place both the bottle and the glass on the table.
He smiles and takes out a pen from his t-shirt pocket. He takes out a piece of paper and raises his eyes to look at me.
“Is that all sir?”
“Nope.” He scribbles something on the paper and hands it to me, his mouth twitching with a slight smile. “Call me in case you need to hook up. That’s my number.”
I shake my head at him. “Don’t need this. It’s never going to happen.”
“Give me that paper.” He takes it from me and scribbles something else. “That’s my number and a room we can have fun in. Will be waiting for your call in the evening. I assume you are working day shift.”
I draw in a sharp breath trying not to glower at him. This is disrespectful. He might have the good looks but he needs to calm his balls down a bit.
I’m not interested anymore. This is where my crush ends and it’s also where I say to hell with the bet. I can work for the hundred dollars and not have to sleep with an asshole.
Yeah, he is one. The biggest we have in town. Probably the whole country.
And?
He is broke so he can’t offer much.
Well?
You can’t come to have drinks at Lex and I should think you are rich. He is just some broke, rude douchebag who thinks he can have his way with girls by just giving them money. Peanuts I assume. I know his type. I have interacted with lots of them here. It’s not worth the struggle. I don’t want him to mess up with my body and waste my time.
“I will think about it.” I smile putting the piece of paper in my jeans. I know so well that I’m not going to call him and I won’t show up at the address. Let him keep on dreaming.
I walk away and stand at a corner waiting for other customers to show up. I don’t look at him again but I can feel his eyes on me. He can go screw himself. I’m better than this.
“You good?” Selina joins me.
“Yap.” I give her a smile.
“The guy at the corner needs to pay his bill.”
The broke dude of course.
“Can you attend to him please?”
“He wants it to be you. I offered but he said his waitress should do that.”
Geez!
He is something else.
“On it. Thanks Selina.” I walk to the counter biting my lip angrily. “The guy’s bill.”
“You look mad.”
“You have no idea. It will get worse if you don’t shut the fuck up and give me the bill!” I snap at him.
I should probably go and rest. I don’t know why I accepted to stand in for Sera. She should be going through this not me.
“Calm down tommie.” He shakes his head and hands the bill to me.
“Next time don’t fucking keep me waiting.” I snap and walk to the infuriating customer trying to compose myself.
“Your bill sir.” I hand it to him.
“How much is it?”
“Hundred dollars.”
I should ask him whether he can’t read the figures on the bill but I decide to shush and get done with it.
“Here.” He hands me hundred and fifty dollars.”
“It’s a hundred dollars.”
“That’s your tip for the 'good service.’ He emphasizes the last part using the quotes gestures.
“I will be waiting for you.” He gives me a lopsided smile and stands.
“Don’t count on it.”
“I will. See you around.” He grins and walks out leaving a half bottle of tequila on the table.
Did he have to order for the whole bottle? I roll my eyes and clear the table.
“Good news Frankie.” Sera approaches me excitedly.
“What’s up? I thought you went home.” I place the bottle on the counter and look at her.
“Nope. Went to meet the dude was telling you about.”
“For a shag?”
“Nope. For a certain job. It can change our lives.”
“What do you mean by change our lives?”
“My life and yours. He has two openings. I recommended you to him and he is willing to take you too.”
“What type of work is that?”
“First tell me whether you are in.”
“I can’t decide without knowing what type of a job it is.”
“He is paying a fortune bitch. Just say yes and you will be rich as fuck. Go to vacations, get a decent place, get a decent meal and all the shit you have ever wanted.”
“I don’t know Sera. This feels like a dream.”
“It’s not.”
“Okay. Give me a hint about what it entails. I have to know about it before I get into a deal.”
“Just delivering stuff to some places.”
“What? Drugs? Don’t tell me it’s cocaine.”
“Nope. Of course not. You ain’t doing illegal drugs and what if you were. I’m sure I won’t miss a joint in your bag.”
“There is one but delivering illegal drugs is different. Don’t want trouble with the cops.”
“Relax. It’s not illegal.”
“Good. I’m in then.”
“Yeeey! That’s my girl.” She grins and takes a gulp of the leftover tequila.
“When do we start?”
“Will tell you. I will talk to him and get back to you. Can’t wait to make real money.”
“Same here Sera. Same here.” I nod my head and lean against the counter.
“You are my bitch. I got you covered.”
“Too much ghetto in you.” I laugh.
I hear a loud bhang outside and look at Sera.
“Did you hear that?”
“Yeah. It’s noth…”
She is interrupted by a scream.
“There is something.” I say running towards the door.
“Come back Frankie!” she runs after me.
“Help!” a woman screams pointing towards someone and I see a retreating figure.
Stone?
The hell?
Frankie.” Sera is still calling after me.”“Stay here.” I tell her and run after Stone who is really fast. I feel the need to protect him so I won’t let the mob hurt him.“What the hell Stone?” I shout after him.“Fuck! Just go away.” He shouts still running. I’m now closing in on him.“No way.” I grab his hand when I catch up with him. “Follow me.” I run towards an abandoned alley with him trailing behind me.“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I ask once I’m sure no one is following us.“Needed some cash tomboy. The lady was careless with her phone and I had to take it.”We are now leaning against the wall, breathing fast.“So you are going to sell it?”“Yap. That’s what we do.” He says and looks at the distant.“You need to stop this.”“You ain’t my momma.” He snaps.“I have saved your ass you fucker. You should be grateful.” I snap back at him.“Thank you but I don’t need you to take care of me.”“You do.” I take my cap off and hand it to him. “Here. You will be less noticeable.”“
He gives me a kiss and pulls out, lying next to me. He pulls me to him and kisses my hair, something that comes as a surprise. I didn’t expect it.“So tomboy, tell me about yourself.”“I'm not telling you anything.”“You don’t want to or you have nothing to say.”“Both options apply. I don’t know your name so you are not supposed to know anything about me.” I unwrap myself from him and walk to the bathroom to freshen up.“You can’t know my name.” He shouts from the bed.“You can’t know about me either .” I shout back trying to straighten my hair. Damn! It’s hard and doesn’t work. I groan and walk back to the room. His eyes don’t leave mine as I dig out a comb from my backpack.“You amaze me.”“Do I now?”“Very. You have nice hair and a very nice body. Why do you cover it with a cap? Why do you cover your body with these baggy jeans ?” he asks gesturing at my clothes.“Because I want to. Because it’s what satisfies me.” I answer not daring to look at him.“You are one hell of a myst
“Jim?” I widen my eyes moving closer to him.“I’m not Jim. I told you I’m Stone.” He opens his eyes and they are soft, looking at me with confusion written all over them.“You are Jim. You called the name Isa.”“It’s a random name.”“We both know that’s a lie.”“And you are Frankie not Isa.”“My real name is Isa and you are my brother.”“Fuck Isa.” He groans shutting his eyes again.“See? You called me Isa again .”“Yeah.”“Why did you hide that you are Jim from me?”“Because this,” he looks around pointing at himself and the bed. “Is what I don’t want. I don’t want you to take care of me Isa. That’s what you are doing.”“Yeah. Because I want to. No one is forcing me to.” I move closer and take his hands in mine.“When I saw you at Lex, the urge to help you overcrowded me. There was that sudden feeling I got and compared you to Jim. I will help you Jim. My place is small but I’m waiting for another job and we will move to a better place.”“I should be the one doing that Isa. I’m the
I raise my brows at her.“What’s this?” I ask raising the piece of paper.“Was told to give it to you my some gentle man.” “Whom?” I ask looking around. There is no sign of the weirdo so I wonder who it is.Of course I do. He must be hiding somewhere. Otherwise, no one else knows me in this hotel.“He left. I will leave.” She smiles and walks away.“Having secret admirers here?” Sera asks with a grin.“Oh please Sera! With this tomboy look? You think anyone would fall for this?” I chuckle pointing at myself.“Yes. You are so beautiful. You just need to lose the tomboy look and every man will go crazy.”“It’s never going to happen Sera. I love my look so cut it.”“If you say so.” She shrugs. “I don’t mind giving you a make over though.”“I said you should cut it.” I snap at her making her laugh.“Okay. Open it or you will never know who sent that.” She urges me on.“Cool.” I open the paper and catch a whiff of some cologne. It’s a sweet scent and I’m sure it’s some expensive shit.“M
Sera walks to me and props her elbows on the bar counter, giving me a suspicious look. Tim sees it and moves closer.“What?” I ask her rolling my eyes. Can’t believe I’m doing this. It’s like her. She is used to that and hanging out with her makes me do that I guess. Something I shouldn’t be doing. As I said, it’s for the divas like her.“What’s going on?”“With what? Told you we will talk.”“Not that and don’t bullshit me bitch. What’s up with the guy at Trust?”“He is a guy I know from somewhere.”“Doesn’t feel like so. Have you two banged?” “Tomboy got smashed?” Tim grins propping his elbows on the counter.“Just shut up Tim. This is a girl’s talk.”“Frankie shouldn’t be counted as a girl. She is a tomboy. Where is your cap by the way? Must admit you look good this way. You have great hair.”“Just fuck off Tim! If you don’t want me to wring your neck just fuck off!” I snap and look at Sera. “Nothing happened.”“Really? Because he is here and he can’t get his eyes off you. You shou
I wake up feeling like crap. Don’t know why because I slept well last night. I turn on the bed and Jim is still asleep, snoring softly. This warms my heart and I know I will do anything to help him. That’s what mum would want, right?I push the quilt off me and step out of bed with a groan. The distribution starts today and I can’t afford to be late. I’m covering night shift today so it’s no big issue.I walk to the small closet and settle for black jeans and a white crop top. I have to look good today and these are the best clothes I have in my collection. Can I really call it a collection? Nope. I need clothes. Once I get enough money, my life is going to change.I look at myself in the mirror and force a smile. Everything is going to be okay soon. I know that. I can feel that. I owe it to mum to make everything work for Jim and I.I unhook my towel from the door and step out slowly, careful not to wake Jim up. I’m not calling him Stone anymore. He is Jim from now on. I walk into
TREYI swing tomboy's cap in my hands and slump on the bed. I take a long look at it, trying to think of a reason I have it in the first place. How do I describe her? I don’t know much about her but she is reserved. There is something going on in her life and she is trying to mask it with the tomboy look.Even so?She is beautiful. Never seen such a beautiful woman before. No matter what she wears, no matter how baggy her jeans are, how hard she tries to cover her hair, she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Her body? How do I describe it? She has a great body, an awesome figure which drives me crazy when I remember it.The problem is, I haven’t seen her smiling even once. Something is wrong. I’m trying to figure it out but she is rude and arrogant and won’t let me in. Why do I care? What’s happening to me? She was a casual hook up who I shouldn’t be thinking about but here we are again.Same story. Same girl. Same beautiful girl who won’t leave my mind and I can’t do anyt
FRANKIEHe is here.Again. Again? What sort of a game is he playing? Is he supposed to come here every time? I come from my errands and the first person I see is him? I cross my arms on my chest and glare at him. He raises his face and our eyes meet making me scoff in annoyance.“What’s the deal with the dude on that corner?” Ally asks. I don’t like her. She doesn’t like me too so I wonder why she is here talking to me. Her shift is over anyway.“Nothing. Why do you care?”“He was asking about you. Said he would order when you get here. Better solve that shit or I will snitch on you to the manager.”“You wanna go and do that right now? Don’t bullshit me Ally. The customer is always right and what he wants comes first so don’t give me this crap.” I snap glaring at her.She is some snitch. A bitch who everyone hates but our hatred for each other is intense. We didn’t click on the first day and we have never. She knows how much I hate her and I know how much she hates me.“Don’t think
