Kevin watched her intently, seeing her body tense up and her eyes darting nervously to him. His heart was beating like a drum in his ear as he waited for her response. But instead of an answer, she dodged his question yet again. "It's getting cold. Let's head back."

Kevin shook his head in defeat, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

She always does this.

Getting up from the sand, the two head back inside. The moment Emma stepped into the room, she paused, shock evident on her face. Glass shards lay scattered across the floor, the bed was disheveled, and his bottle sat in the center, empty.

"I'll call them," Kevin said and took out his phone, but Emma stopped him saying it was too late to disturb them. He beamed, she never failed to amaze him.
