Captured Again!

“Ugh!”

She was still in a state of bliss when pain radiated from her chest and made Carissa spurt out blood from her mouth.

She wiped her mouth and took a quick look at the unconscious Aischylos on the ground.

‘It’s good that you’re still alive.’

Carissa didn’t let Heidrich rest after his fierce battle. She needed to kill him fast.

She was still speeding towards him when she saw a black shadow appearing above her.

Within seconds, Carissa found herself inside a net that was held by four vampires.

She was about to use her fire to burn the net when her power bounced back and hit her.

“Argh!”

Carissa clutched her burning hand with a pained look on her face.

Not giving up, she tried it one more time but received the same result.

She reached towards her foldable sickle on her boot when she heard a chuckle, “Give it up. The net is embedded with magic.”

“Ma..magic?” Carissa’s eyes widen.

“But, how? Magic...witches...they don’t exist!”

Heidrich smirked, “Well...It looks like you still haven’t got enough experience in life. But, don’t worry...”

He bent down to her eye level, “I’ll make sure you see more than what you’ve ever dreamed.”

“You’ll regret this!” Carissa snarled.

“I’ve never regretted anything since I was born. I’m looking forward to regretting this, then.”

Heidrich then disappears into the night.

One of the vampires pulled a bottle of black powder before splashing it towards Carissa’s face.

What a sweet smell...

Carissa’s eyes turned blurry the more she inhaled the scent. It wasn’t long before she was knocked unconscious.

****

Carissa stirred up when she heard the sounds of a fight. Grunting from her headache, she squinted towards the group of vampires who were fighting a group of werewolves.

It was nearly dawn and the forest was cold and dark.

Carissa noticed that she was lying in the bushes with the net still hugging her tightly. No one notices that she has regained consciousness.

She struggled not to make too many noises and movements in the bushes as she pushed both her hands out of the net holes and did the same for her legs.

If someone were to see her now, they would have mistaken her for some kind of animal or weird creature.

If she can’t remove this net then she would escape together with it. She crawled under the bushes and had gone a few meters away from the battles.

She looked back, checking if someone had noticed that she was gone as she continued to crawl forward.

Her eyes lit up when she saw that no one noticed her and turned her head back in front with glee and accidentally bumped into a tree.

“Agh!” Carissa straightened her back and rubbed her bumpy forehead as her eyes looked at the tall tree in front of her.

Hmm? Why is this tree wearing shoes...and... pants...and shirts...?

Carissa scanned the tree in front of her from toe to head before she finally saw a purple-eyed man looking down at her.

“Hi...” Carissa stood up slowly and greeted him with a forced smile as she retreated.

The man didn’t show any reaction at all. He keeps staring at Carissa like he is looking at his prey.

“Uh...bye...” Carissa turned sideways to try to bypass him.

A gasp exited her mouth when she felt her body floating in the air. Wait. Floating?

She looked back and realized that the purple-eyed man was holding her up with one hand by the net.

“Let me go!” Carissa struggled helplessly inside the net.

She hadn’t even finished her words before she was thrown by him into the middle of the battle. A beautiful arc was seen under the dark sky.

“Aghhhhh!!!!” she screamed when she saw the oncoming ground that would catch her.

Surely, she would break a bone or two.

Carissa was about to close her eyes when she saw that she was moving towards Heidrich. A playful smirk appeared on her face as she prepared her claw.

Of course, there was no claw but she still had nails right? Plus, it would only hurt him for a while before his wound would heal.

Carissa set the timing perfectly before she slashed her claws on Heidrich’s face at the same time she landed on his back.

“Ugh!” Heidrich was taken off guard and fell onto the ground with a loud thud.

“Hahaha! Purple eyes, nice shot! I like this very much!” as Carissa said this, she clawed a bit more here and there as well as grabbed on Heidrich’s hair and messed it up.

She took advantage when Heidrich was stunned before she quickly retreated at the back of the werewolves, hiding with her mischievous smile.

Heidrich growled as his eyes turned red and veins bulged out from his head. He stood up in a flash and shot Carissa a piercing look.

If looks can kill, Carissa had died several times already.

Carissa poked her head out behind one of the werewolves and said, “Young master, it’s almost down. Are you sure you want to catch me?”

It was true. The sun was setting and the earth was slowly warming up.

The vampires hissed when they felt the sun’s heat on their skin and immediately retreated into the dark shadows except for Heidrich, who was a royal vampire.

“This is not over. You almost annihilated one of our clans. I will not be the only one who wants your head!” he snarled.

Carissa muttered under her breath, “Young master, you should be worried about yourself...”

It was heard by all of them.

Heidrich’s face darken. He looks at the werewolves with hatred before saying, “You werewolves have breached our territory. You should be ready to face the consequences of doing this. However, if you give me that woman, I will not report this to the court.”

The werewolves didn’t answer him but only looked in the direction of the purple-eyed man.

“Young master, what do you mean? They breached your territory. Of course, they have decided to face the consequences. After all, this land would sooner or later be theirs.” Carissa poked her head and provoked him once more.

“Shut up, ghost! I’m not asking you!” Heidrich was furious.

However, it was too late. The werewolves got the hint Carissa gave them and didn’t move from their position at all.

It was just as Carissa said it. They have decided to breach the territory and they know the consequences and dared to risk it. Most of the vampires were still fighting with werewolves in the south.

This would be a great opportunity for them to attack the north and occupy it. Plus, they heard that Carissa almost annihilated a vampire clan.

Who wouldn’t want to ally with her?
