Book 2: Chapter 1: Vincent & Bartenders
-
I was currently driving to Alessia's house to drop off the kids since I had to take care of a problem in the drug department, one of the workers hadn't sent out the shipment the day it was due so now I had Pablo calling me every hour telling me it needed to come soon or I may lose my deal with the Mexican mafia.
I parked my car, before taking the kids out, holding their hands while we made our way to the door.
"Do you remember the rules?" I asked as I helped them walk up the steps.
"We should always say please and thank you!" Nicholai answered.
"No tablet at dinner," Anastasia added, I nodded with a smile.
"Good, don't give your aunt any trouble while I'm gone," I
- Chapter 2: Dinner & Confused - I looked through the racks of clothes, trying to find something quickly since I still had to deal with the drug problem. My eye caught a red dress, that wasn't too long nor too short, it looked simple yet elegant and it seemed about my size. I smiled softly, but that smile soon turned to a frown as my phone rang with a sigh I answered it. "Pablo?" I asked knowingly. "Natalia, espero que ya hayas enviado los envíos. El jefe no se alegrará mucho cuando se entere de que llegaron tarde." I took the dress off the rack joining the short line. (Natalia, I hope you have already sent the shipments. The boss won't be overjoyed when he finds out they were late.) "Pablo, lo estoy manejando. Los envíos llegan en 2 días." I explained while moving further in the line. (Pablo, I'm handling it. Shipments
- Chapter 3: Memories & Pain - For a second I wondered if I was seeing things, my mind didn't want to believe he was standing at the door as my heart wasn't ready for it. I gazed into his brown eyes that stared at me with longing. I looked away knowing it was best not to look at him at all since a part of me wanted to bring him into a hug, but my brain quickly reminded me why we broke up in the first place. I took a deep breath focusing my thought as a way to calm myself as my therapist suggested at our last session. "Can I eat?" Nicholai asked, snapping me out of my trance, I turned to my son whose eyes were pleading for my answer to be yes. "Yeah, I'm going to the restroom." He and his sister waited for the food, happily. "Don't give them too much food," I told my parents, they nodded while I walked towards the door, stopping in front of Alessan
- Chapter 4: Kids & Amanda - Natalia's P.O.V "Could you turn around?" I asked reminding him I was still in my towel. He did wordlessly as I moved over to my bed where my clothes rested. "The kids I saw downstairs...are they mine?" Alessandro inquired softly while I dropped my towel, slipping on a white marina. I pushed down whatever anxiety that had risen in my chest as I answered his question. "They are." "Why didn't you tell me about them?" My brows furrowed, irritated as I p
- Chapter 5: Hold & Story - I looked into Vincent's hazel eyes that were now green, I hadn't realized his deep cherry smell until now, I had to admit I wasn't disappointed. His hold on me wasn't tight nor was it loose, normally I would be uncomfortable if anyone had held me like this, but I didn't mind right now. A grin was on his lips before he spoke, "I just saved you from a concussion." I chuckled amused as I rolled my eyes. "That you caused." His grin brightened. "Between me and you, I saw you falling and I caught you, ok?" I nodded. "I think I can live that." His eyes took in my attire with an appreciative nod. "You look amazing." "Thank you and you look..." My eyes took in his casual attire. "Basic?" He questioned, I smiled. "I wasn't going to s
- Chapter 6: Number & Bear - Even though Vincent's life story had kept my mind distracted for a while, thoughts of Alessia kept appearing once again as I paced back and forth trying to calm myself which seemed impossible at this moment. "Natalia, she's going to be fine," Vincent assured me, I sighed nodding deciding to follow his lead and think positive for once. "Yeah...I know." I said, but we both knew I was trying my hardest to convince myself. "Mommy? Where's aunt Alessia?" I heard my son as he and his sister walked towards me with my parents behind them. "She's...uh doing some work now, why are you asking?" I inquired bending down to his level. "I heard grandpa saying 'we need to find her'." I wondered how my father knew about the situation, but then my mind went to Alessandro knowing he must have told him somehow. "Don't worr
- Chapter 7: Special & Don't - Natalia's P.O.V After I left the twin's old room I decided to go to the indoor bar which still had its wooden interior, I took a seat around the bar where I was immediately greeted by the bartender. "Ms Petrov, I haven't seen you in a while." I heard the bartender, whose name I completely forgot but I gave her a smile. "Special occasion," I replied, she chuckled softly giving me a shot of tequila without me having to order. The minute I drank it I was hit with a wave of memories. -Flashback- "Hmhm, bye." I hung up, taking a seat on my bed. I suddenly had the urge to drink some alcohol, I couldn't remember the last time I drank a good bottle of tequila. With that thought, I stood going to the bar. As soon as I got there, I notice it was empty. I decided to just make my own
-Chapter 8: File & Jail-Natalia's P.O.VAfter I helped Alessia into her bed, I went to my father's office. The second I entered,he, Andrey and my mother were chatting quietly but when they saw me enter they stopped. "It took you a while." My father commented as I took a seat in front of his desk."I was helping a very injured Alessia to her room," I informed him, before he could speak again I spoke. "Can we skip the unnecessary conversation? Just tell me what was stolen that was so valuable that you want to call a meeting with all the mafias, a day before the annual ball too." My father spared my mother a nervous glance before he met my eyes, worry hidden deep beneath his usually stoic face."Someone stole a file that has evidence on every leader's illegal businesses, pictures of unspeakable things. If the person who has this
- Chapter 9: Isn't & Deserves - Natalia's P.O.V It was the next day, I was currently leaving the bathroom after taking a long shower. The dress I would be wearing tonight was laid on my bed along with the silver heels. I quickly dried off knowing I didn't have much time before Vincent arrived, I made sure the towel I wore was wrapped securely around my body while I took a seat around my old vanity table that my mother packed with makeup, lotions etc yesterday. I lotion my skin first before applying gloss to my pink lips, my hair was naturally curly so I didn't do much to it except use a bit of the hair spray I had. I slipped on a gold necklace around my neck, then used a bit of perfume before standing silently deciding not to wear makeup as I walked over to my recently bought red dress. It didn't take much for me
