INICIAR SESIÓNChapter 2
In the day-to-day mundane routine, I'd lost touch with the world. The money on the card was what I'd saved from living expenses. I'm not so high-minded - I convinced myself to see it as compensation for all these years.
Levi wasn't stingy with me; the living expenses were always generous, though this wouldn't help much in fighting for custody of Celestia.
I knew one of Levi's private email addresses. He'd said if I was busy and couldn't reach him, I should send it to his email, and he'd handle it when he saw it.
I found a divorce agreement template, edited it briefly, and sent it to him. I only asked for custody of Celestia. If he disagreed, he should contact me after seeing it.
Now I just needed to resign.
The office was still bustling as usual, though my job was pretty idle.
Levi said I couldn't help him much, so he just had me make tea, pour water, and handle some of his daily small tasks.
He had several secretaries and a senior assistant.
When they saw me show up with my suitcase, they joked, "Blair, you don't need to be this dedicated - coming to the office without even going home?"
I pressed my lips together. "Yeah, the office is my second home."
I wanted to keep some dignity, so I joked back as usual.
"Aren't you on a long vacation? Why are you back now?"
I actually didn't want to hide it, I wanted to just say I was here to resign. I knew that for someone as insignificant as me, whatever I said wouldn't matter much to anyone, but I still felt my resignation might bring some tiny negative impact to the company.
"I'll take it next time."
I brushed it off. What next time? I brought my suitcase because I hadn't found a suitable place to stay yet.
Levi's assistant passed by and saw me. We made eye contact, and I followed him into the office. Over the years, though he didn't know my relationship with Levi, he knew I had a special connection with him.
Because Levi had told him not to make things difficult for me.
"I want to resign."
I stated my purpose directly.
The assistant stared at me. Maybe he thought since I didn't have much work at the company anyway, and I was someone Levi had asked him to look after, so he was a bit surprised.
"I need to report this to Mr. Morgan."
I'd expected this. "How long will it take?"
Levi hadn't replied to my email. Until now, he hadn't called me either. He might have even forgotten I'd contacted him last night. He was probably still being sweet with Jessa, not even knowing I'd gone to find him.
So busy as he was, how could he quickly deal with my resignation?
"Mr. Morgan has a video conference in ten minutes. I was about to have someone take documents to the conference room - why don't you deliver them?"
On any normal day, I would have done my best to handle these small tasks, but right now I didn't want to.
"I have another appointment. Please process my resignation as soon as possible, and just text me."
I left under his surprised gaze. I didn't want to stay another moment in this place where I'd worked for six years. Back then, to avoid special treatment, I'd returned to work right after maternity leave. Now it seemed kind of ridiculous.
Who would care about her? Levi wouldn't care one bit.
The white envelope fell on the desk. My heart finally settled, at least for now. My decision to leave was my last bit of tenderness toward Levi.
The hotel's aromatherapy was a bit overwhelming. I put down my coffee, and my eyes drifted to my phone - no messages.
Levi hadn't sent me a single message.
Dozens of hours had passed. My nose tingled, and tears almost fell again.
How pathetic. Why did I have to think of them, especially Celestia?
I wondered if Celestia would think of me, if she'd be angry about me leaving without saying goodbye. Would she still care about me? Was she happily playing with Jessa right now?
I had no way of knowing. I had no news about them at all.
On impulse, I searched for information about Jessa Greer.
All these years, I thought Levi had moved on from her. I thought I knew everything about his regular daily routine.
But the truth was, he hadn't changed - he still had feelings for her.
Jessa Greer, an excellent violinist.
That familiar name now carried such a title. In the time she'd been out of my sight, even if her family had helped boost her career, she'd gained a certain standing in the industry.
And me? I seemed to have been away from the flowers and applause for far too long.
No one cared about me. I guess I'd gotten used to the ordinary life.
Who wouldn't envy me for having a husband like Levi? But he'd never seen me as his ideal wife. He wouldn't even trust me with an important task.
"Blair, you need to change."
I made a secret vow - this time, leaving Levi, I would become a better version of myself and shine.
I found my good friend Nola Skye's number in my contacts. As soon as she picked up, she teased me.
"Hello, well, well, well, Ms. Blair Ember, how do you have time to contact me?"
"Stop it. Let's talk business. How's the company doing lately?"
Chapter 5No grand entrance needed - that's already good enough.Back at the hotel, I kept replaying tonight's banquet in my mind. Nola had prepared everything for my fresh start, and I was truly grateful.Despite the awkward run-in with Cleo, my close friends probably wouldn't notice my embarrassment anytime soon.My phone kept flashing - I'd forgotten I'd put it on silent."Hello, Mrs. Morgan. Mr. Morgan is back and wants soup. You know I can't make it taste like yours." It was Indigo, our housekeeper.I smiled bitterly. "Indigo, you're such a good cook. Anything you make would be better than mine.""Mrs. Morgan, you're being too kind. Mr. Morgan specifically asked for the kind you usually make. Nothing I cook satisfies him."A bowl of soup - does it really matter who makes it?In the days after I'm gone, will Levi think of me because of a bowl of soup?"It's already quite late. Let me tell you how to make it, and you can give it a try." I checked the time - it was already 10 PM."A
Chapter 4The phone kept ringing. I stared at the message, hesitating. The company had received an invitation.Nola was asking if I wanted to go.She said this school anniversary wasn't just about inviting outstanding graduates back to share their experiences - it was actually a pretty big industry gathering. The entire design institute would showcase many excellent works for discussion, and special guests could directly purchase finished pieces or even invest in them.I was torn.If I went, it would pave the way for my comeback. And if someone appreciated my work, it could bring funding to the company.Over these years, I'd done some designing in my spare time, but I knew it probably didn't fit current trends.I'm a bit stubborn - I won't cater to the market, which is why the company was always just so-so back then. But Nola is different. She grew up in a business family and goes after whatever makes money, so under her management, the company has gained quite a reputation.Could I r
Chapter 3Nola perked up immediately. "Wait, Blair, have you suddenly grown a conscience? How many years has it been? Tell me, how many years have you left me to manage the company alone without asking about anything?"Every word stung. I felt ashamed."You're keeping up with the times, while I...""While you what? Everyone knows how talented you are." Nola sounded frustrated. "But your Mr. Morgan having you focus on family - that's kind of a waste of your abilities."Hearing words like "focus on family" made me sad. It used to be something I enjoyed doing. But I really need to work now. At least it would help with fighting for custody of Celestia."I'll come back to the company soon. I'll contact you then." I wasn't sure which day exactly. Without a response to my resignation, I couldn't settle down."Blair, did something happen?"Nola could tell I had problems from just one phone call. Why didn't Levi ever care when I contacted him? I was such a failure. I'd been so slow to realize.

Chapter 1When I arrived at the villa entrance, it was already evening. The alarm went off right on time, with a reminder: celebrate Levi's birthday. Two weeks ago, my husband Levi Morgan brought our daughter to attend a summer camp abroad. I originally wanted to come along, but Levi said there were things at the company I needed to handle, so I had to give up the idea.Levi was the only son of the Morgan family, spoiled since childhood. For his birthday, he never appreciated any gift I gave him. Before coming, I had only one thought in mind: to cook him a meal myself."Mrs. Morgan, you're here!" Bianca tugged at her apron and came forward to greet me."Yeah."I handed her my suitcase. "Is everything I asked you to prepare ready?"Bianca's eyes showed hesitation, then she replied with determination, "Yes, everything's ready.""What are they doing?"I wanted to surprise them. If they were home, I planned to quietly go to the kitchen first to prepare dinner."Mr. Morgan went out, and Ce
