Luna’s POV

I watched Jimmy drive into a different direction with Elina, she seemed happy with him. It feels like yesterday when they were just awkward around each other.

The city lights and cold breeze welcomed me.

The gala shimmered with blinding lights and polished smiles. Crystal chandeliers sparkled above our heads, spilling their glow across marble floors that seemed too glossy to step on. Every corner echoed with laughter, champagne flutes clinking, and the kind of conversations that only powerful people knew how to have. Everyone here was dressed to kill, women in dazzling gowns that glittered like falling stars, and men in sharp tuxedos, their presence as commanding as the deals they struck in hushed tones.

I felt… out of place.

My mother walked beside me with her head held high, her emerald silk dress flowing behind her like a river of wealth. She was immediately greeted by a group of her business associates, men and women who smiled a little too wide, their voices coated in

Jaden’s POVI drove home from the gala without escorting Leah home. I needed a moment away from her and her annoying voice. Everything about her made my skin crawl.I didn't care where my dad disappeared to during the gala but I knew he was somewhere doing something he shouldn't be doing.I reached home and headed straight to my bedroom, slamming my body against the bed.Vivid memories of Luna playing in my mind.Fuck I should not be thinking about her.I drifted into sleep as soon as I let my thoughts run.Sunlight streamed through the blinds in thin stripes across my bedroom floor. I sat on the edge of the bed, lacing and unlacing my fingers, tension coiling in my chest. The front door slammed downstairs, followed by the heavy thud of footsteps.“Jaden!” my father’s voice carried up the stairs, firm, unyielding. “Come down. Now.”I pushed myself up and strode downstairs, jaw tight. Liam was leaning against the kitchen counter, perfectly dressed as always, the kind of calm that made

Luna’s POVI left the bathroom hallway and slipped back into the hall where the main event was.The gala hall glittered like a frozen galaxy. Crystal chandeliers hung overhead, scattering light across polished marble floors, reflecting in every satin gown and polished shoe. The murmur of conversation, the clinking of glasses, and the distant hum of music blended into a low, sophisticated roar. My fingers twisted nervously around the strap of my clutch. I hated the spotlight—but tonight, my mother had thrust me into it.Her name echoed through the microphone: “Will the guests please turn their attention to the stage?”My mother stepped forward with a graceful ease that only came from years of public life. Her voice rang clear, commanding the room’s attention as she spoke of dreams, dedication, and the legacy of her work. Applause erupted when she finished, warm and admiring, and I felt a flicker of pride prick at my chest. Then her voice softened. “My daughter, Luna, will join me on st

Jimmy’s POVThe carnival lights danced around us in a blur of color—reds, yellows, and blues spinning through the air like falling stars. Elina’s laughter was still ringing in my ears, soft and wild at the same time, and I swear my chest couldn’t contain how alive it made me feel. She wrapped her small hand on my arm, the closeness between us made my tummy flatter. It felt like a dream, how did I not see her all these years we were schooling together? When she always hung out with Luna, but now she's so different. She wears a little make up, some heels and walks like she owns the streets. We’d just gotten off the rollercoaster, and my heart was still pounding—not from the ride, but from the way her small hand had clung to mine the entire time. She screamed at the drops, squeezed my fingers, and then when it was all over, her cheeks were flushed, her hair slightly messy, and she looked at me with eyes that made me forget gravity existed.“That was amazing!” she said, brushing a strand

Luna’s POVThe hours dragged on, the steady hum of the office filling the air as I worked at my mother’s company desk, her assistant kept checking on me, maybe to see if I'm making any errors but her guidance saved me. My fingers were cramped from sketching and redrawing the same pendant design, tweaking tiny details until it was perfect. The diamonds had to sit just right, the engraving had to flow naturally—it wasn’t just jewelry anymore, it was a test. A challenge Jaden had unknowingly thrown at me.Every now and then, I caught myself sneaking a glance at the waiting room, beats of sweat formed on my forehead, I had never done this before, even though I've studied so much about it and new every move. I looked again and he was still there, lounging on the velvet couch like he owned the building. His arm draped over the backrest, tattoos peeking out from under his sleeve, eyes occasionally flicking toward me with an unreadable expression. It made my pulse spike every time. Finally

LUNA'S POVThe cold night air smacked me in the face the second we stepped out of the party house. My laughter died in my throat when I saw him.He turned and walked back to the car.“I'm so disappointed in you guys,” He was leaning against the car, arms crossed, jaw tight, and eyes burning like coals. He didn’t even have to say anything—I already knew we were in deep trouble. My stomach flipped, and all the adrenaline that had kept me buzzing inside the house instantly drained out of me.“Get in the car,” Richard said, voice low and dangerous.I froze for a second, my brain spiraling. What if he told my father? I’d never hear the end of it. Jimmy and Elina slid past me quickly, choosing the smart option—silence. I followed, keeping my eyes on the ground, sliding into the back seat with my heart pounding so hard it hurt. The ride home was suffocating. None of us spoke. Even the hum of the tires on the road felt loud. I kept stealing glances at Richard’s reflection in the mirror, wait
