"Went to see your little mate again?" Simon glanced up when Knight walked up to the fence.

Most rogues lived by themselves, but some would live together, sort of as a pack, but with no pack bond to bound them nor protect them.

They had a little fenced-up village for around a hundred rogues that couldn't find any pack. They were the biggest rogue pack around this area, and Knight was their leader.

"It was an investigation!" Knight rolled his eyes at his right-hand man. Simon would have made a good Beta if they were a legit werewolf pack.

"Like if anyone else can hurt you besides that White's kid." Simon smirked, "It really puzzles me, why would anyone get themselves caught and tortured, just to see a heartless mate who doesn't even want them in the first place?!"

Simon was the only one who knew about Knight's mate.

"Well, it puzzles you because you don't yet know love, son." Knight shook his head in a lecturing tone, which got Simon to throw over the wood he was cutting.
