“Oh my goodness, babyyyy! Yes! Yes!! I will marry you!!” I screamed, trying so hard to make it believable.

He smiled even more as he slid the ring onto my finger. He then got up and pressed a long kiss on my lips.

“I really love you baby. I can’t wait to marry you.” He chimed in while I smiled too.

“I know right… you know what, we have to tell Kate. Oh my goodness, she will be so happy. I can’t wait to see the look on her face!” I screamed as I rushed to pick up my phone.

Will pulled me back then, “it’s late already. Do we really have to tell her tonight?” He quizzed while I smirked.

“Of course, you know how she is. She’s not going to forgive me if I don’t tell her right away. It’s called betrayal, I’m sure you know more about that,” I said before he could say a word.

I was already calling Kate, and in a second, her face popped up on the screen. She was still at the hotel, and I could see the sexual satisfaction glow on her. That should have been me, but she stole it. Now I’m going to cause her misery too.

“Guess what! My man just f*cking proposed!!” I screamed so loudly, while flashing the diamond ring over the screen.

“What the f*cking heck?!!! That’s not poss…” she came to her senses before she finished the sentence.

I saw the fury on her face as she tried to compose herself, but I pretended not to see.

“Will just asked me to marry him and I said yes!" I screamed again. This time, I dragged Will’s face onto the screen. I licked his lips so deep till Kate had to cough to stop us.

“I’m so happy for you…” she finally let out, but her face says it all. She was everything but happy for me.

“Of course you are, and that’s why I’m inviting you to our engagement party tomorrow night.” Her eyes almost popped out then. Will too, as he turned to me.

“An engagement party?” They both asked while I chuckled.

“Yes, of course, I know it’s sudden, but that’s how we all like it right. Surprises…” I let out, and before they could reply, I continued.

“You know what, I need to get in the bathroom and clean this mess off. You are going to get the craziest ride of your life tonight, babe.” I said, and then kissed him again.

“Here, you two go on. But I need my man by the time I’m back. Bye husband…” I teased as I passed him the phone and disappeared into the bathroom.

The fake smile and excitement vanished the moment I closed the door behind me. The betrayal was back in my head, and I started seeing the picture of their shameful makeout again.

I slowly took off my trousers and then saw a small card fall off. I picked it up and saw it was a business card with a note on the back.

“Call this number if you want help.” I stared at it briefly and then threw it into the trash.

I got in the shower and took a cold shower. I scrubbed every part of my body so hard as if it would get out all of Will’s touch in the last three years.

By the time I got back to the room, he was already asleep. I got into bed, shut my eyes, and forced myself to sleep too.

I woke up the next morning to a kiss on my forehead. Will was all dressed for work and was out in a hurry. I went over to the window and watched him drive out. I then sat down with my phone and played the video.

Last night, when I left the two on the call, it was intentional. That was the only way to get them to talk freely. But they didn’t know I was recording the call.

“How could you propose to her with my f*cking ring? I can’t even believe this! That ring was damn expensive, and I gave it to you to propose to me, but you turned me down. I’m still trying to wrap my head around your silly lie of an excuse, and the next thing I know, that b*tch is telling me you proposed.”

“It hasn’t even been two hours since you were in between my legs, and you’re asking another woman to marry you already?” Kate had angrily slammed at Will, who kept raking his hands through his hair.

“I had to do it, love. I had no choice. She accused me of cheating, and you know how annoying she can be. I just had to shut her up with something I know she desperately wants. The ring came in handy, and I just did it.” He tried to calm her down, but it didn’t work as she ranted on.

“You know what, how about I come over to your office tomorrow and explain everything,” he retorted.

“I promise to make it up to you,” he added when she still wasn’t happy.

“Okay then. I love you.” She chimed in.

“And I love you more.” He replied and then kissed the screen.

He literally kissed the screen!

I just couldn’t take the pain anymore when I saw that. I dropped the phone and burst into tears. It hurt so much… more than I thought. It felt like my heart was being ripped out.

Ever since Will came into my life, I’ve done nothing but love him with everything. My money, my body, my heart… my all. Even when he had nothing to his name. He was struggling at his menial job, so I hired him. The board and my dad were against it, but I proved to them that he was competent. I used my influence as the CEO and in six months, he was already high up the chain.

On our first anniversary, he asked me to move in with him but then subtly complained about his small apartment. Without hesitation, I bought a new and huge apartment and we moved in. Every now and then, he would show me properties and then hint about his plans to get them once he had the money. Each time, I always got those properties for us. I thought I was in love… I thought I was building a future with the love of my life. I never knew I was playing into his plan. I was just a pawn in his game.

I cried till my head started to ache, so I stopped. I got up and went into the bathroom. As I washed my face, the first thing my eyes caught was the trash. The card was still there, staring at me as if begging me to pick it up. And I did.

This time, it was out of curiosity. I went back to the room, got my phone and then called the number.

“Heyy…” a man answered, and the voice sounded so familiar. I knew I had heard it somewhere but couldn’t place the face.

He wouldn’t say anything either, other than ask for a meeting in person.

“Hell no, that’s not happening. I don’t even know you!” I exclaimed.

“You do, you just don’t know it yet. I’ll be sending you an address after this call. Meet me there in an hour, and you’ll see for yourself who I am.” There was this confidence in the way he talked that made it impossible to refuse him.

He hung up and truly, my phone beeped almost immediately. It was the address. I initially was skeptical but when I saw it was a secured lounge, I decided to go.

In about an hour, I was at the place. I was ushered into his booth and the moment he lifted his head, I recognized him.

It was the same man from last night who helped me at the hotel.

He must have slid the card in my pants then! Once I figured that out, I got scared and immediately turned to leave.

“Nicole Lancaster. Billionaire heiress and only daughter of Jack Lancaster.” I froze immediately I heard this.

I slowly turned around, while he continued.

“Yesterday was your anniversary but instead of a celebration, you watched him cheat on you with your best friend.”

“Surprised I know you this well?” He finally stopped.

“Who are you? And what do you want from me? Are you one of my competitors out there? Are you trying to blackmail me?” I quizzed, trying hard to make sense of everything.

“None of the above. I’m just here to help you get revenge on your cheating boyfriend.” He replied while I laughed.

“That’s quite funny, because why would you want to help me? You don’t even know me?” I asked.

“I like to think I know you enough to marry you.”

“What!!” I exclaimed, disgust written all over my face.

“Yes, Nicole. That’s all you have to do for me to help you get revenge on your boyfriend and best friend…”
