Aaliyah’s POV

Lisa’s words hit me like a slap: “You love him, Ali.”

“You know what they say; denial is a river in Egypt.”

I shook my head, gripping my wine glass, the penthouse air thick with her accusation. No way was I falling for Orrin

Not when there's a lot holding me down like this. Our marriage was a deal, and love was a complication I couldn’t afford.

“No, Lisa. You’re way off,” I said, forcing a laugh, swirling my wine.

She leaned back on my couch with her eyes glinting with mischief.

“Fine, I’ll let you lie to yourself.”

I rolled my eyes, setting my glass down, dodging her stare. “Can we talk about something else? What about you? You’ve been quite busy too. Spill the tea—what’s new besides the Met?”

Her eyes lit up, and she leaned forward, voice dropping like she had a secret.

“Okay, you won’t believe this. Last week, at my event for that tech startup, this guy comes up to me—Kaito Tanaka, some mega-wealthy Japanese investor. Owns half of Tokyo’s skyline. He asks me out, s

Henry’s POVMy heart pounded in my chest when I heard her voice. My grip tightened on the phone as I stood in my office, the frozen image of her running from the scene of my betrayal still showing on the computer screen. I was surprised, curious, and nervous all at once. My mind was scrambling to make sense of why she’d reach out now. Was it about the partnership? Or a chance to gloat? Or something else entirely? My throat was dry and my voice caught somewhere between an apology and a plea, unsure where to start.“Aaliyah,” I managed to say hoarsely, barely recognizable. “I… I didn’t expect you to call. I—”“I’ll make this fast,” she cut in briskly with that same edge of control she’d wielded last night. “I want to meet you. Just you and me. I’ll text you the time and place.”My breath caught, a rush of hope and dread flooding me.Just us? Her silence after that statement gave me intuition that she'd end the call so before she could, I blurted, “Wait!” My voice cracked, and I w

Henry’s POV“Here's the footage, Sir.”Margaret handed me a USB drive and by the look on her face, I could tell she already knew what was going on. She must feel bad for Aaliyah too—not for me. “She didn't deserve to be treated like that.” I bet that's what she's saying in her head“You can leave, Margaret.”The door to my office clicked shut behind her as she left me alone with the USB drive she’d handed me.I plugged the USB into my computer. The screen flickered to life and the black-and-white CCTV footage loaded with agonizing slowness. My throat tightened as I clicked play. The reception area was empty at first, Margaret’s desk bare under the lights. The timestamp read 11:10 AM—It was my birthday and I had just gotten to work.I leaned closer, watching and waiting to see if Aaliyah's face would surface. Then she appeared. Her blonde hair caught the light as her silk dress clung to her frame. She stepped out of the elevator with a velvet cake box clutched in her hands. A sic

Henry’s POV“Smith Enterprises CEO Slapped by Wife in Public Meltdown!”“Aaliyah Hayes Humiliates Henry Smith at Gala!” “Aurora Smith’s Outburst Tanks Company Stock!”The headlines had been merciless since this morning. Each one was a fresh wound to Smith Innovations’ already battered reputation.I sat at the head of the table in the boardroom which seemed like a battlefield with the air thick with tension and the bitter aftertaste of failure. My jaw tightened and my hands clasped to hide the tremor in my fingers. The board members’ voices clashed around me, their faces a mix of anger, panic, and accusation as they tried to salvage what was left of our image.“Sir, we’re bleeding investors,” Margaret, my assistant, said, her voice low as she leaned down to speak to my hearing only. “The stock’s down twelve percent since those videos hit the internet. We need a plan, and we need it fast, Sir.”Mike, the CFO with a bald head glinting under the fluorescent lights as he waved a tablet

Aaliyah’s POVThe knock on the door cut through the haze of desire like a bucket of cold water.Elias’s wail followed, a piercing cry that snapped me back to reality, my heart lurching with a mix of guilt and urgency. I pulled away from Orrin even with my body still thrumming with the heat of his touch and scrambled to my feet. His eyes met mine, dark and frustrated, but he nodded, understanding the moment was over. I grabbed a silk robe from the chair, tying it hastily around my waist and hurried to the door. When I opened it, Mary stood there, her face etched with exhaustion and her hair slightly disheveled. Elias was in her arms, his little face red and scrunched, his cries loud enough to fill the house. “I’m so sorry,” Mary said, her voice heavy with apology. “He’s been fussy for a while, and I couldn’t calm him down. I think he needs his mama.”My heart softened, the guilt fading as I reached for my son. “It’s okay, dear,” I said while cradling Elias against my chest. His c

Aaliyah’s POVBy the time I opened my eyes again, I was cradled in Orrin’s arms as he carried me through the newly purchased duplex we marked as our home here in New York. His cologne, woodsy and warm, enveloped me, and my gaze drifted to his face, the sharp line of his jaw shadowed in the dim light. My heart skipped, a flutter of heat spreading through my chest as I realized I was staring, drinking in every angle of him like some lovesick teenager.“Hey, Firecracker,” his lips twitched into a teasing smile as he caught my gaze. “You’re awake.”I flushed, the heat creeping up my neck, and swatted his chest. “Why did you let me stare at you like a freak?” I muttered, my voice thick with embarrassment and the lingering buzz of the champagne. He chuckled as he carried me into our bedroom with the door clicking shut behind us. “Because it’s cute. And I like it when you look at me like that.”He set me down on the bed, the silk sheets cool against my skin, and I felt a jolt of awareness

  • He Divorced Me, I Marry A Bigger Billionaire!   Chapter 65

Aaliyah’s POVThe event came back to life, as if Aurora and Henry’s humiliating exit had been nothing more than a fleeting shadow. I moved through the crowd with Orrin at my side and his hand brushing mine often.I felt the cool fabric of my gown against the warmth of the room, and I felt alive, like every piece of my heart was finally knitting itself back together. I leaned into Orrin as we approached a group of tech moguls, their eyes lighting up as I introduced myself. “Aaliyah Hayes, CEO of Elevations. I’m thrilled to be back in New York, and I’m looking forward to shaking things up a little.”The men exchanged glances, clearly impressed. One of them—a silver-haired CEO with a shark’s grin—extended a hand. “Your campaigns have been the talk of the industry, Mrs. Hayes. I’d love to discuss a potential collaboration.”Orrin’s hand rested lightly on my lower back like a subtle claim. “She’s the best in the game. You’d be lucky to work with her.”I flashed him a sidelong glance, m
