Dante

A loud bang on my door jolted me awake. My heart was pounding like it might stop any second. I sat up trying to catch my breath.

“Hey, new guy. C’mon, open the door,” a familiar voice called from the other side. It was Mateo.

I sighed, half annoyed and half relieved. What a nuisance.

I lazily dragged myself to the door and opened it.

“You aren’t dressed yet?” he scoffed as he scanned me from head to toe.

“Dressed for whatI asked yawning loudly.

“The party, dummy.”

I know I said I wanted to attend the party earlier, but now I’m having a second thought on that. I wanted to return to my sleep.

“The thing is…” I started but was immediately cut short by him. He nudged me on my shoulder letting himself in.

“No excuses, Dante. You don’t have to sulk yourself in the room forever. You need some social experience.” He walked to my closet and started throwing my clothes unceremoniously on the bed. I grunted in frustration as I watched him. He suddenly stopped at turned to look at me with disgust written all over his face, and a black turtle neck top and a pair of pants in his hand.

“Dude, what are you? A nerd? You need to work on your closet,” he bluffed rolling his eyes, “Here, wear this.”

I sighed in frustration and walked into the bathroom to change. Don’t blame me, I’m a shy person and can’t possibly expose myself in front of him.

When I was finally done, we made our way to the party venue. When we got there, the first thing that hit me was the loud music. It pulsed through the air and vibrated through the floor. I saw a few guys gather around a girl while she twerked. They were cheering for her.

As a bum lover, I think I’m going to give her a ten out of ten.

We walked into the entrance and were led by a girl to a small room. It was some sort of VIP, which made me start to view Mateo as the life of the party. Everyone around seems to know him. I saw him earlier as someone whose life revolves around the school, but I was wrong.

Opposite the room we were in, I saw two guys kissing and slashing tongues together.

Trust me; I have nothing against the LGBTQ₊ community, as long as they have nothing to do with me. While coming here, I saw girls getting down and dirty on each other. It was a pleasant show to behold and I low-key wanted to join them as well.

But watching these two guys like they were doing now? Watching them explore and touch each other like that? I think I’m gonna pass. It has never been my thing. Maybe that’s because it makes me feel uncomfortable.

But why? Why can’t I keep my eyes off them?

“Dude, you are beginning to stare too much and it’s getting creepy,” Mateo called, giving me a gentle shove on my shoulder.

“Huh,” it took me a while to realize that I had indeed been staring at them.

The door to the room was widely opened, probably because they cared less or maybe didn’t realize the door was still open because they were both backing us.

“I’m not staring,” I cleared my throat, adjusting my cloth around my neck.

“Mmhm!”

A rough husky moan made me freeze. It was coming from the opposite room. Curiosity got the best of me as I turned to know who it was coming from, but all I could see was a manly figure holding the waist of the other guy as he was pounding deeply into him from behind.

He was putting on a watch that I know I have only seen somewhere, but can’t place my fingers on where exactly.

Honestly, I didn’t quite understand why my heart was beating so fast as I stared at them. The back-and-forth movement was intense.

“Shit,” I cursed when I felt someone touch me on my shoulder.

It was a stripper. Mateo must have brought them in but I wasn’t relieved when they walked into the room. The lady walked to my front and bent to unzip my pants. Maybe that’s what I needed to take my mind off those guys. I threw my head against the chair as I closed my eyes to feel every blissful moment the hot lady was giving to me.

She is good at this job. I let out a soft moan when she did a magic thing with her tongue on me.

Just as I was about to climax, I was brought back to reality when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. The screen lit up to my Mom’s face as the ID.

“Who’s calling?” the hot lady asked, but I gave her no reply. She doesn’t need to know.

I gently nudged her to continue what she was doing.

I turned to find Mateo riding on the other stripper. The one I was with must have felt left out as she tried to let me into her honey pot. I gently declined and zipped myself back up. I’m always extra careful when it comes to penetration. I don’t go in without protection. The lady also adjusted herself and said, “No refunds.”

For someone who didn’t know that the whole thing was already paid for, I simply nodded and walked to the mini bar in the room to grab a drink. I took out my phone to text my mom but changed my mind and started going through my I*******m. My girlfriend’s message popped up and I immediately rushed to know what she had dropped.

It was a view-once video with a ‘watch when alone’ description.

I smiled to myself, already knowing what the message meant, and dropped a heart emoji for her.

My mind went back to Mateo and I saw him snoring on the couch. He was completely wasted and had his head at an awkward angle and his mouth wide open. Not to mention the fact that he was drooling as well. I checked the time and it was the dorm’s curfew time. It’s still my first day in school and I wouldn’t like to be breaking any rules. It’s a good thing the party venue wasn’t far from my dorm but that was only with a taxi.

“Fuck, you are heavy,” I groaned, not wanting to be the one to carry him to his dorm. I didn’t even know his dorm. I tried carrying him up but stopped when a female voice spoke. It was one of the strippers.

“You don’t have to worry about that, someone is coming to pick him up.”

I groaned in frustration, gently dropped him back, and made my way out of the party. The party was still booming loudly and people were still dancing and cheering.

It was a ten-minute ride back to my dorm, and thank goodness I arrived on time. I made my way straight to my room but was met with a bizarre scene. My room was wide open. Someone must have come to steal my stuff.

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 200

Asher’s POVThe day Dante walked across the stage and accepted his diploma, I swear my chest swelled more than his mother’s.He’d done it. Despite everything, the bullying, the cruelty, the way the world tried to make him feel small, he had risen above it.His eyes found mine in the crowd, and in that moment, I saw more than the shy boy I once met. I saw the man who would one day rule beside me.Afterward, when the cheers died down and the caps had been tossed into the air, he came straight to me. No hesitation, no glance over his shoulder.Just him, my mate, my equal. He didn’t even ask. He just laced his fingers through mine, in front of everyone, and said, “I’m ready to come home.”And so he did.***The first weeks in the pack house were…a storm. Whispers followed him in every hall. Some bowed too quickly, others refused to bow at all. Some called him Asher’s boy, others called him dangerous. But then came the training. When Dante shifted fully for the first time before the counci

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 199

Dante’s POVLife in the pack house was even more weird than the first few weeks I spent here. When Asher insisted I moved in after finals, I thought maybe, just maybe, it would be easier now. And that killing Elijah had put an end to the whispers, the suspicion. That the pack would see me as Asher’s mate and nothing else. But I was wrong.Everywhere I went, I still felt their eyes on me. Some were cautious, some hostile, most just…uncertain. I wasn’t one of them. Not born here. Not bonded the way they all believed fated mates should be. I was an outsider who had somehow caught the Alpha’s heart, and no one knew what to do with that. One night, I overheard two Omegas in the kitchen.“He can’t be his mate,” one hissed, voice low but sharp. “The Moon Goddess doesn’t make mistakes, but this… this feels like one.”“Keep your voice down,” the other muttered. “If the Alpha hears… ”“He should hear! How can we follow someone who mates outside the bond? It’s unnatural.”I didn’t wait to hea

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 198

Dante’s POVThe first time Asher showed up at school, I wanted the ground to swallow me whole. It was a Tuesday morning, gray and dull, and I was half-asleep walking toward the gates when the roar of an engine shattered the air. Heads whipped toward the street as a sleek car slid into view, the kind of luxury that did not belong anywhere near our cracked pavement and rusting bikes. The car stopped directly in front of me. The door swung open, and there he was.Asher.Dressed in black, his injuries barely visible beneath his clothes. His eyes locked onto me, burning with that unwavering intensity I’d come to know too well.Murmurs spread like wildfire. “Who is that?” “Damn, look at the car.” “Is that Asher, damn! and he is waiting for Dante?”My stomach flipped.“Asher,” I hissed under my breath, stepping toward him before anyone else could. “What the hell are you doing here?”He leaned casually against the car, his grin smug, confident. “Picking you up.”I wanted to strangle him. “Yo

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 197

Dante’s POVI’d never seen so much blood on Asher's body before. Asher was limp in the arms of the guards as they carried him back to the pack house, his fur matted crimson, his breathing shallow. I walked beside them, numb, every step felt like an eternity. My hands shook, and I kept them clenched tight at my sides so no one would see. I had to hold it together. But inside, I was unraveling.I could not erase the image of him collapsing, and I could not forget the way his eyes dimmed right after Elijah’s body fell still. For a moment, I had thought I’d lost him. The terror of that thought had not left me, and I wasn’t sure it ever would.“Set him down,” the healer ordered as we reached the infirmary. The guards obeyed, lowering Asher onto the wide bed. His wolf form shimmered, breaking apart until his human body lay bloodied and broken before us.I sucked in a shaky breath. Cuts tore jagged lines across his chest and arms, bruises darkened his skin, and his side looked caved in.

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 196

Asher’s POVThe smoke curled thick in the air, swallowing the trees, twisting them into what looked like monstrous shadows. My lungs burned with every breath I drew. Here, in the heart of the forest, it was me, Elijah, and the weight of everything that had led us to this moment. He stood across from me, his eyes glowing a sickening gold in the smoke. Anna trembled behind him, she was struggling to stay alive and it was too evident, her face streaked with ash and terror.Elijah had dragged her here like some trophy. My chest ached when I saw her flinch as his claws hovered close to her throat.“This has no reason to drag on beyond now Lowell,” Elijah snarled, his voice cutting through the night like broken glass. “Let's go one on one. You versus me, Asher. The great Alpha against an aspiring one, a fight to the death. Whoever lives, rules.”I felt Dante’s hand brush against my arm, the faintest touch grounding me in the storm. His voice cracked when he whispered, “Don’t. Please, Ashe

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 195

Dante’s POVThe night had been quiet before it broke. I was sitting near the porch steps of the pack house, thinking of how strange it still felt to call this land ours, when the silence fractured with a crack like splitting bone. Flames licked the edge of the woods before I even understood what I was seeing. One tree lit, then there was another, and soon the horizon was smeared with angry red.The first scream tore through the darkness, a sound that made every wolf jerk to attention. I stood frozen for a heartbeat, watching shadows dart between the trees, figures moving too fast, too fluid to be anything human. It was not a hunt. It was more of an invasion.“Asher!” I called out, spinning toward the door. He was already there, pushing it open, his eyes sharp, his body half-shifted as if instinct had dragged the wolf out before thought could catch up.“Elijah,” he said flatly, as though the name itself explained everything. His gaze raked over me once, firm and unyielding. “You are
