Asher

“Can I talk to other members of the council regarding this issue? I mean, I just can't take only your judgement, how am I certain it would get me back into the pack?” I groaned as I spoke.

“Very well then. I will alert them all to head to the meeting room, you will stand in the center of the room, and you will take whatever verdict is handed to you. Even if they say you will not be coming back to the pack. Have I made myself clear?”

He did not wait for me to give a reply; he summoned the other council members, and I was dragged to the room where they wanted to decide my fate.

“This boy did the worst thing imaginable to man, killing his own sister. I see no reason why he should be thinking of coming back to the pack. He is cursed, and it should remain that way.” One of the elders said.

“I gave him an option. I think it would work for both parties. But first, I would like to address him on something.”

“Asher Lowell, you have no idea what you might be getting yourself into for havin

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 111

Dante’s POVWarmth. Sweet satisfying warmth. That was the first thing I felt when I opened my eyes. Not the ache in my limbs and chest. Not the hum of the dorm’s radiator or the faint scent of fabric softener clinging to the sheets I laughed on. No, it was warmth. Deep, layered warmth that wrapped around me like safety. My heart stumbled. I sat up slowly, blinking into the soft morning light.I was in my bed. My dry bed. And I was wearing clean clothes. The hoodie I had on was not mine. It smelled like Asher's. The memory hit me in fragments. The rooftop. The rain. My fingers so cold I could not feel them anymore. My pride burning even as my body trembled. I remembered pushing him away, snarling at him through clenched teeth, telling him to leave me alone. Or did I? I could not recall everything, but I know for a fact I had tried to fight his help. And then, I remembered arms. Strong arms. Steady hands. He did not yell back, just said shut up and lifted me carefully. He carried m

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 110

Asher’s POVHe did not answer. His head rolled against my shoulder. When we left the rooftop, I removed my hoodie and wore it on him. I bolted back down the stairs, two steps at a time, water dripping from both of us. My arms ached, but I did not stop. When I burst into our room, I kicked the door shut behind me and carried him straight to the bed."Stay with me," I whispered.I walked up to the door and locked it. Dante lay curled on his side in my hoodie, chest rising and falling in shallow breaths. Water pooled on the sheets and hoodie, but the chill had receded. I pressed a hand to his shoulder.“Dante.”His eyes fluttered open, confused and distant. A catch in his breath.“You are soaked,” I murmured. His teeth chattered. I swung my legs over the bedside, scooped him up carefully, and carried him into the bathroom. The tiles were cold, but I did not hesitate. I stripped him of wet clothes, set them aside in a heap. Then I fished fresh sweats and a clean T‑shirt out of his box o

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 109

Asher's POV “Hey, good game today Asher.” Some random dude said to me, on my my way. “Yea, thanks man.” I had replied absent-mindedly, I had been doing that for the past thirty minutes or thereabout. My jaw was starting to ache from the smile I was giving. But I did not stop. The energy buzzing in my veins as I walked back to the dorm was electric. My phone would not stop vibrating, messages, mentions, memes, and very importantly praise from the team group chat. I had my AirPods in, laughing along with the guys on a voice call."Asher, bro! What was going through your mind when you got the ball for that third goal?" Malik asked, his voice full of awe.I grinned, slowing my steps. "Honestly? I saw that gap between the defenders, and everything else just went quiet. It was like... tunnel vision you know. The ball, the goal, it all lined up. Eye for goal, man. You know how it is."They all howled. "That eye needs to be insured!" someone yelled. "He is the goddamn MVP!""For real, we

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 108

Dante’s POVIt was on a Friday afternoon when Asher walked into the room holding a small white card in his hand. I was seated at my desk, half-listening to music, pretending to study, mostly just scrolling on my phone, really. I looked up briefly and saw him standing beside me, sort of, his brows slightly furrowed like he did not know how to start. He held the card out awkwardly.“What is this?” I asked, pulling out one earbud.“It is an invite,” he said, voice neutral. “To the game tomorrow. Quarterfinal match. Should be a real good one.”I blinked, hesitating for a second before taking it. His fingers brushed mine when I grabbed the card, for less than a second, and I hated that it made my chest tighten the way it did.“I would be glad to see you there,” he added quickly, like ripping off a bandage. And then he turned and left the room before I could respond.Just like that. The door clicked softly behind him, and I stared at the card in my hand, wondering why he even bothered. He h

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 107

Mateo’s POVI thought by using my captaincy role, humiliating Asher would bring satisfaction. I thought if I made him slip, fumble, or lose his rhythm during training, I would finally feel like I was in control. But I was wrong.Every smirk I gave him during drills, every subtle elbow, every snide comment meant to rattle him, he just absorbed it and kept going. It did not make him worse. It made him sharper. Hungrier.Despite everything I have tried, he still runs the show around here and everyone just enjoys glazing him. And now here we were.It was the quarterfinal game. Tied at 2-2. The crowd was roaring and hopeful. The sun was melting into the horizon, casting this beautiful light across the pitch, adding to the usual flood lights, and everyone’s heart was on edge.I could feel the tension in my spine, the ache in my calves. We needed a win. One goal would settle it. That is all.Coach barked something from the sideline, but it was lost in the roar.I had my shot deflected, and

  • He Is Mine   CHAPTER 106

Asher’s POV“You have to do something about getting him.” Dean, my wolf argued with me,I want to ignore him, but he would just keep pushing so I cut him short. “I'm trying my best. Now hush.”“Don't tell me to hush, imagine during a full moon, I tell you to hush, would you like that?”“Uhhh, no I wouldn't, and you can't resist a full moon, I'm kind of the higher authority here, I own my body. Durhh.” I responded to him. “Oh yea, you would be useless without me, piece of garbage.”“No I don't think so, I mean, I would be less strong, but I would have a human family maybe and my life would be just great, I would not get kicked out of my pack, because I would not kill my sister. Just saying, I could do without you Dean.” I know that response would hurt him, but I needed him to be silent for a while so I could think about what to do. I needed to be closer to him. It was that simple. Not because I was still filled with anger, though that was part of it, but because something deeper was
