Chapter 5

Author: Elora Faye
It had to be Kai!

I'd let him stay the night out of the kindness of my heart, and yet, this was how he repaid me?

No wonder my neck had felt a little ticklish sometime last night, as if I'd gotten bitten by a bug.

Bastard!

Disgusted, I hurriedly washed that part of my neck with soap and water.

I bet Kai must have been a dog in his past life. How could he still be such a pervert and bite me when he was still drunk out of his mind?

The more I thought about it, the angrier I felt. So, I grabbed a hoodie, pulled it over my head, and set off to find him. I was going to get even with him!

However, I never expected to walk into Kai breaking up with Liesel outside the pizza shop as soon as I turned the corner.

Liesel was begging him not to break up with her, but he just looked unbothered.

That bastard! How could he steal them away then treat them like shit afterward?

Liesel was well-known as the prettiest student in the community college. I'd spent months trying to pursue her before she finally agreed to be my girlfriend.

They both caught sight of me at the same time.

Liesel immediately grabbed a glass bottle from a nearby table and rushed toward me, looking like she'd been harboring a grudge against me for the longest time.

"It's all your fault!" she screeched. "It's your fault that he's now breaking up with me! Go to hell!"

Her face was twisted into an angry sneer as she swung the glass bottle above her head, ready to smash it against my skull.

Just then, Kai rushed over and stood in her way, hiding me behind him.

The glass bottle hit his forehead, soda spraying all over Kai and me as the glass shattered.

Kai just groaned softly in pain. Then, he asked me in a low voice, "Did the glass get you?"

Hearing no reply from me, he said, "Say something! Cat got your tongue?"

No, wait. What was going on?

Weren't they the ones who betrayed me first? So why did Liesel still want to hit me after breaking up with him?

I could feel the rage bubbling in my chest. When I saw blood trickling down Kai's forehead, I combusted into flames.

When Liesel saw that I wasn't hurt, she got indignant and grabbed another bottle from the table.

I snatched it from her hand before she could hit me and flung it to the ground by her feet. The glass bottle shattered into a million pieces, showering glass fragments everywhere. Liesel was so shocked that she quickly shielded her head.

Before she could react, I grabbed another bottle, but Kai immediately held me back. "That's enough, Aiden."

I set down the bottle and glared coldly at Liesel, who was shivering in her feet. I snapped at her, "Wanna do that again?"

Liesel didn't dare to look at me. She'd probably never seen me lose my temper like this before, and she ran away crying.

I brought Kai to the community hospital to get him cleaned up. It was only then that I saw there was quite a gash on his forehead.

"Does it hurt?" I asked. "Aren't you mad that you're disfigured now?"

Kai just stared back at me. "Are you worried that I'd get an ugly scar on my face?"

"Nobody would care if they liked you."

Kai suddenly pried my legs open with his knees and started stroking my crotch. "Oh? Then do you like me?"

I shuddered. "Cut it out! This is the hospital!"

He chuckled quietly and grabbed my hands tightly.

After he was bandaged, I sent him back to his apartment. Then, I turned to leave.

Kai grabbed my hand and said, "Your shirt's still drenched. Change into something dry before you go."

He then found a plain white T-shirt and tossed it at me. I was just about to change in the bedroom when he pushed me into the bathroom instead.

"Shower before you change."

When I finally came out wearing his shirt, I saw Kai engrossed in watching something on his phone. The tips of his ears were red.

I crept up behind him and asked, "Oh? Watching some pornstar's sexy videos?"

To my utter shock, I saw him staring at a photo of me in my swimming shorts at the community pool.

This was getting ridiculous. How could a man stare at another man's half-naked swimming pictures and get all red and shy like this?

"You pervert!"

Kai suddenly reached out to grab me. Then, he snatched my phone from my pocket.

He quickly keyed in my password, having me curse internally, wondering how the hell he knew it. He tapped into my apps one after another, then finally handed it back.

He'd deleted all of my selfie photos on my Facebook and Instagram.

Kai just looked at me smugly, as if he'd been thinking about doing this for a long time.

"Why? Worried about competition because I'm better-looking than you?"

He suddenly pulled me into his arms, his chest flush against my back as he slid his arms around my waist and rubbed his fingers against the sides of my hips, pressing gently.

"Worried you'd get stolen away because of how good-looking you are."

I struggled in his arms for a bit. My nether regions were starting to heat up with him palming me everywhere.

"Why did you put a hickey on my neck?"

Kai just lowered his head and pressed his lips against the mark on my neck. He then kept licking it with his warm, wet tongue, making my legs turn into jelly with his ministrations.

"Just wanted you to think about me."

I shoved him away, my face burning up in embarrassment. "Stop talking. I'm going back. I refuse to sleep in your stupid apartment!"

Kai's lips slowly curled upward as his gaze locked onto mine. The tent in his pants was getting more and more visible. "But what if I'm also here with you?"

"Kai Valentine, I swear I'm going to chop it off if you continue spewing nonsense again!"

He shut up at once. But before I left, he just looked at me with a knowing expression on his face, as if he was sure that I'd come back to him.

When I got back to the apartment I shared with Mick, I found him watching porn on his laptop.

I nodded in approval. This was the proper way for a man to get off.

After all, who would do such a thing with his close friend's pool photos?

Mick hurriedly closed his laptop when he saw that I was standing behind him. "I thought you weren't coming back tonight."

He then started gaming on his phone, asking me nonchalantly, "So, Aiden, was Kai the one who gave you that hickey?"

"Who told you that?"

"It was there when you both woke up this morning. Who else could it have been if it weren't him? Come to think of it, do you think he's only stealing your girlfriends because he likes you?"

Mick didn't even see the shocked expression on my face as he continued, "Do you like him too?"

"Mick, am I going crazy, or have you completely lost your head?"

Antonio's face was stern, but he smiled subtly at me."Hey, Aiden. It's been a while. How have you been?""I've been alright," I answered.Antonio sat down on the couch and said, "Kai's stubborn. I'm here today to get you to convince him to come back. He's my best right-hand man, you see, and I don't want him to think that he's… not straight."He added, "You understand what I'm trying to say, don't you?""I can't do much to change his mind, Antonio. You—""Aiden," he said, cutting me off. "I helped you when your family ran into trouble back then. Now, it's time to return the favor. "Why did you bring Cody with you?" I asked Mick, giving him a pointed look. My lips were drawn in a tight line.Mick just shrugged. "I thought you were the one who said you owed him a meal anytime."I'd totally forgotten about that. I had to repay him for his favor, of course."Any place you'd like to go to for dinner?" I asked with a small smile."Your call. I'm fine with anything," Cody replied, smiling brightly at me.However, while we sat down for pizza, Cody wouldn't stop staring at me. It was like he was burning a hole through my head with his eyes.Mick excused himself as quickly as he could, and I felt a little restless after that."You seem busy. Why aren't you picking up your phone?" Cody asked, inching closer to me.His hot breath was right up against my ear, and he smelled fresh and citrusy like a lemon."I just wanted to explain… about last time.""It's fine. I was just trying to make a new friend," Cody replied.I sighed in relief. Cody was easy to hang out wit

That night, I dreamed of the streets in Wooklyn back when we were still kids.Kai was still new to the area and rarely ever spoke. I thought he was just acting cool.I caught a stray dog and tried to get it to go after Kai to tease him. However, the dog turned on me and went berserk, biting me in the butt instead.Kai immediately rushed over and grabbed a branch to chase it away. He managed to pry the dog's teeth from my butt, but in doing that, he got bitten on his leg and bled everywhere. He ended up needing stitches.I cried as I grabbed his hands in mine. "You can't die! I promise I won't bother you anymore!"Kai just chuckled and said, "I won't die. I like it when you bother me. I'll always protect you in the future."I couldn't believe that he still remembered that stupid promise he made such a long time ago.I woke up from the heat, covered in sweat.Kai's arm was draped around my waist. I carefully moved it aside, but it woke him up. He narrowed his eyes as he sat up, p
