Sylvia's P. O. V

"Why?" Alex asked.

"I-I don't know..." I stuttered, surprised. Why wouldn't Patrick tell me that Alex sent an apology? Could it be what he wanted to tell me that he changed his mind about?

"Maybe he forgot, " I suggested, shrugging.

"Could be the case." Alex agreed with a bop of the head.

We talked for a few more moments till it was time for them to leave. I walked them out, waving goodbye to Hazel.

"Goodbye. And I'll visit tomorrow." I had told her. She squealed in happiness. How did she get to like me so much?

Once they left, I walked inside to meet my mom at the end of the stairs, her hands crossed and her speculative glance at me.

"Didn't know you had so many 'male' friends." She said, raising her brows at me.

"Come on, mom..." I said scoffing. " They're not my friends. Patrick is the one who saved me and Alex is the brother to the girl I babysit. It's not as if we're that close." Yeah, no need to tell her that I have a lifelong crush on that elder brother of Haze
