MATEO'S POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring, jolting me out of a deep sleep. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the clock, realizing I had overslept by 20 minutes. I jumped out of bed and rushed to the bathroom, quickly brushing my teeth and washing my face. I barely had time to splash some water on my face to wake myself up.

I ran to my closet, grabbing the first outfit I saw and quickly getting dressed. I rushed to the kitchen to make a quick cup of coffee, but the coffee machine was on the fritz. Frustrated, I chugged a glass of water and grabbed a piece of toast on my way out the door. I slept well in my old house. Very fancy, but clearly I knew it was for me. I thought about what Jim's father said. If any of my men get to see me, I might have to spend the rest of my life in prison.

I sprinted to my car, praying it would start on the first try. Luckily, it did, and I was on my way to work. It doesn't really work, but I guess that's what people call it. I have to get my vis
