"Tae Jin, are you okay?" Hae Jin asked, worried about Tae Jin.

Tae Jin sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor, lost in thought while Hae Jin stood a few steps away from him.

"I'm fine hyung, just leave me alone" he answered but Hae Jin wasn't having none of that.

"If you're this jealous, just......." He began but Tae Jin didn't let him finish.

"I'm not jealous okay! How many times do I have to say this! I'm not jealous! I'm not jealous! I'm not jealous!" He yelled out in anger, glaring at Hae Jin.

"You should just tell Shin Hye you love her, she......."

"I do love Shin Hye but is not the same damnit! Is not the same!" Tae Jin yelled out, getting up.

"Is not the same? What do you mean?" Hae Jin asked.

"I've never loved Shin Hye the same way. And I really hate myself because I made it look like I did. I've always loved Shin Hye as a friend and it will remain the same!"

What?! So......he really wasn't jealous? He wasn't angry seeing Shin Hye with that boy.....what was his name again?

Oh, yes, Jay.

So,.....he wasn't pretending. He really didn't mind seeing them together because he felt nothing for Shin Hye.

He loved Shin Hye but only as a friend.

What the heck?!

Then why did he date her in the first place?!

"Is not the same hyung. I only love Shin Hye as a friend! I don't see her as a woman! I'm not attracted to her! Am really angry with myself right now"

"Tae Jin"

"I only agreed to go out with her because I didn't want to hurt her. I didn't want to disappoint his parents. I wanted to pay them back for all their kindness. Everything they did for me and my parents, my mom. Her parents gave her job, pay her well and they even gave me a place to live when I left for the states. They've done do much for me and my mom..........my dad as well. And I don't want to be ungrateful"

Oh,.......so he was right. Tae Jin..... really felt indebted to Shin Hye's parents and dating their daughter was his way of paying them back.

He was right, Tae Jin.......he has been paying them back all this time.

Dating Shin Hye, was it.

But......this was wrong, right?

He wasn't only hurting Shin Hye but himself as well.

"I thought I can do my best! I can do my best and return the same feelings! But........I could never do it. I can never feel the same way and....and...I feel really sorry......and am really angry with myself but I don't know what to do anymore!"

"Tae Jin" Hae Jin called out his name, not knowing what to do for him.

Tae Jin was crying.

He must be feeling really miserable right now.

"Such a beautiful, amazing girl and I can't fall for her! Then there's something definitely wrong with me hyung! How can I see her only as a friend?!" Tae Jin yelled out, crying and at that very moment, the door suddenly opened, drawing their attentions.

Looking at the direction of the door, they found Shin Hye, the door opened.

She entered the room, still in shock.

"Shin.......Shin Hye" Tae Jin called out her name, his eyes screamed fear.

And he felt even more miserable.

"Who are you talking to?" Shin Hye asked. There was no one in the room.

It was just Tae Jin.

And........ what did she hear? Who was he calling hyung?

She heard everything!

Everything!

"What do you mean, you only love me as a friend?" She asked. Still in disbelief.

"Shin Hye" Tae Jin called out her name, tears streaming down.

This wasn't the way he wanted her to find out.

"You never loved me?"

"Shin Hye"

"You only went out with me because you didn't want to hurt me by rejecting me. Because of my parents. And here I thought you loved me too!" Shin Hye yelled.

"Shin Hye, please listen"

"No! I loved you Tae Jin!! I was willing to give up everything for you damnit! But you.......you pitied me. An obligation........ that's why you agreed to date me right?! Because you wanted to please my parents! Repay them for what they did for you?! You didn't want to hurt me?! What do you take me for Tae Jin?!!"

"I'm sorry Shin Hye" Tae Jin cried out.

"I don't need it! And guess what? You already hurt me. And seeing you talk to nothing,..........I guess they were right. You really, are a freak" Shin Hye said and turned to leave, slamming the door behind her.

"Shin Hye" Tae Jin called out to her but she was already gone.

"Tae Jin"

"Leave me alone hyung!!" Tae Jin yelled at him (Hae Jin)

Devastated, Hae Jin hesitantly left the room.

Walking out through the closed door.

Left alone, Tae Jin sat on the edge of the bed, crying and blaming himself.

It wasn't just that.

Shin Hye knew he could talk to ghosts but didn't say a word. Her last words said it all.

She got proof just now.

And she.........she called him a freak.

Just like the others did.

He........he has lost her forever.

Coming out to see who it was after the door bell rang, Jay found Shin Hye in front of his door, crying and looking so angry.

"Shin Hye" he called out her name but then,.......he really couldn't stand this. Seeing her cry.

And so, Jay pull her into his arms, hugging her tight.

Seeing her like this, he was no longer angry with her.

"He never felt the same way Jay. He never did" Shin Hye cried out as she hugged him back.

"Is okay, is okay" Jay said, gently stroking her back.

What happened? He asked himself.

"Are you calm now?" Jay asked as he placed a cup of warm chocolate drink before Shin Hye.

They were now inside his house, at the dining table.

He took a seat opposite Shin Hye, waiting for her to say something.

"Yes" she answered before thanking him for the chocolate drink,

"Thank you" 

"What happened?" He asked.

"Tae Jin never loved me the same way. He only love me as a friend"

Oh,........so that was it. Shin Hye.......she was going through a lot. 

"You know, I really gave him my all. I always believed in him. Even though some people said some pretty bad shit about him, I never stopped believing in him. I thought I knew him more than anyone else so I never believed in those shit! I dismissed everything and didn't even think about it or ask about it. I never tried to find out the truth........but then.....then again, I guess I was waiting for him to tell me everything. I trusted him!"

What was she talking about? What did she hear about Tae Jin?

Also,......... should he be this relax hearing this?

Listen to the girl he was in love with talk about another guy.

The guy she loved.

"I trusted him. That's why I even let him hang out with that Clara Newton without saying a word!" Shin Hye said.

She was getting angry again.

But seriously! It really hurt!

"What's did they say about him?" Jay asked.

"In our former school, a week or so after my grandma's death, there were rumors about him. They said he's a freak and that, he can speak to ghosts or something. I never pay them any attention and I dismissed everything because I thought I knew him better than anyone"

Oh,......so that was it.

Tae Jin......he went through a lot as well. Jay thought, feeling sorry for Tae Jin.

"And some time ago, I caught him talking to......nothing! himself. He was saying some stuffs about loving me only as a friend and his reasons for going out with me and there was no one else in the room. It was just him!" 

And Tae Jin wasn't on the phone either. She didn't see it!

She really didn't know what was going.

It couldn't be Tae Jin was mentally ill right?

Okay now she was really worried about him.

"Shin Hye, I don't think they were lying. Tae Jin can really see ghosts" Jay said, surprising Shin Hye.

"What the heck are you talking about?! There's no such thing as ghosts" she yelled out.

What the..... ghosts?! Seriously?!

How come she can't see them?!

And like Jay heard her question, he answered,

"There are chosen ones. Only chosen ones can see ghosts. And,.......you can also see ghosts when they show themselves to you"

What?! She was confused! What was he talking about?!

"Shin Hye, the world has come this far and you still believe there're no ghosts? Haven't you heard of famous mediums? Talking about ghosts, souls, connecting people to their dead love ones?"

"What?"

What?..........well yes she has heard but she doesn't believe in such things.

She can't believe in something she hasn't seen with her own two eyes.

"I know is hard to believe. But you can only believe us. The proof we lay down"

Us? Why was he saying us?

"Actually,............truth be told Shin Hye..........."
