Chapter 23

The maid hurriedly brought a bowl of water and placed it in front of Beryl. He drank the water to help him swallow the food that got stuck halfway in his food pipe. But the amount he could lick and drink was not good enough, so it didn’t help him much. 

Just before he could turn into a human and drink the whole bowl of water in one go, Drake lifted his paw and hit his head. Beryl's swiftly moved forward and his face got fully immersed into the water bowl. The water entered his nose and mouth and that made him struggle to breathe underwater. 

Drake and Joyce enjoyed watching him suffer. Joyce even clapped her hands, while giggling at the sides. Drake had a smug look on his face indicating that he did that intentionally and he doesn't feel sorry for his friend.

Anayka stood up from the chair to help Beryl. But before she could do that, Drake tickled Beryl’s waist and made him sit up straight. Beryl couched vigorously and tried to breathe norm
