the maid's eyes softened. “ I heard what happened to Marsa and I'm sorry princess ” Maria smiled,at least someone was here to offer comfort. “ it is okay, I am to die tomorrow so the suffering will end ” she looked out of the hole , looking at the moonlight. it was beautiful, standing elegantly in the sky. all on it's own, waiting for the stars to catch up.

“ he is not the beast you think he is ” she turned to look at the maid confused, who was she talking about ? . “ the hatred between your people and ours were caused by your people. ” the maid continued .

Maria was surprised, humans were the cause of the war that happened thousands of years ago?

“ a long time ago , two brothers were born, Lycan and Claus. Lycan like Thier father was strong ,fast , agile . he was everything his brother wasn't. Claus was weak and had no abilities. Lycan was destined to rule . ”

“ they grew up and Claus hated Lycan with an hatred that could burn him , each day his hatred for Lycan grew, each day he wished to end Lycan 's life . a witch , in a bid to destroy both sons of the Goddess Luna saw into Thier hearts and found Claus's hatred for his brother Lycan. she called Claus and offered him the idea of power in exchange for the soul of his brother Lycan. Claus wasted no time to accept the offer without knowing that once his brother's soul was destroyed then he himself would have no soul . he would be empty, chasing after things to make him whole and complete but nothing will fill the void in his soul.

the witch stated that she only needed Lycan 's blood . and Claus was willing to give , forgetting that he shared the same blood with his brother. when he got back home, he asked his brother for a favor, he said ‘ brother,ever since we were kids we have not spared each other. pray take up your sword and spar me.i would love to beat you in a brotherly battle ’ he knew how much Lycan adored him and Lycan would never hurt him. they spared and spared and spared, when Lycan knew that his brother wanted to hurt him to feel better he let him hit his shoulder and draw blood.

Claus tore his garment and in a show of care used it to soak his brother's blood , his excitement made him run back to the witch with a cloth soaked with his brother's blood. the witch used the cloth to curse Lycan into a beast and a man. two residing in one body . and then she cursed Claus to be a wanderer and undeserving of his brother's forgiveness that when the two sets eyes on each other, the urge to kill each other would emerge but Lycan being a man beast would have the greater power because Claus and his descendants would always be weak.

when Claus found out he had been deceived he killed the witch and ran to apologize to his brother, but it was already too late because the curse had taken effect and Lycan was a beast , residing along with a man. Lycan launched at his brother in a bid to tear him apart and was separated by Thier mother the goddess.

in hopes to save her sons and Thier descendants the earth was divided, the descendants of Claus ruled in one and Lycan's descendants ruled in another. ”

the story made everything make sense , why no human was allowed into the land of the wolves.why greed seemed to take a better part of the human mind , a need to acquire and own things . it was because both the wolves and humans were brothers betrayed by the human need for power and greed .

“ thank you, I know the truth now and I offer apologies for my ancestors mistake. Claus indeed was stupid ” he really was . the maid smiled. “ do you prefer bread baked with ginger or unleavened bread with no yeast ” she also smiled “ bread baked with ginger is fine . ” the maid nodded and turned to leave but. said

“ you can come take a bath when you're done with your meal . however before your execution tomorrow, tell the emperor that you know how to cure sleeplessness that will give you a chance to live one more day. ” and she left.

Kaliel's pov :

the Sharma smiled . “ the stars are finally aligning and Claus's mistake is going to be forgiven. the goddess Luna did not abandon both her children. finally Lycan would get his apology.” then he laughed.

Kaliel for the life of him did not understand what the mad Sharma was talking about. apology ? mistake,? stars ? he came here to ask for a cure to his sleeplessness not to listen to stories of Lycan and his useless brother Claus.

“ she has come “ the Sharma stated. who has come? “ the one to finally grant the goddess her wish after thousands of years. the moon has chosen her to birth heirs for Lycan.“

Kaliel sighed and sheathed back his sword, at this point he was convinced that not only was the Sharma fake, he was also mad and might need to be cured. he watched the old Sharma dance about and chant some ancient tongues happily, conversing with beings only he was able to see.

“ worry not Sharma, I'll see to it that you are cured“ he stated in pity for the old man, instead of appreciating him the Sharma used his walking stick to hit him. “ curse you boy ,for thinking that I'm mad. I am not mad , I have seen the wonderful future... ” then he chuckled softly.

“ ah yes , Emperor Kaliel what are you here for again.? ” Kaliel wanted to scream at the man , but he knew he wouldn't dare , even his wolf knows that. “ cure Sharma to my sleeplessness.”

the Sharma pretended to be in deep thoughts and then proceeded with “ I cannot help you ” at this point he lost it .

“ what do you mean you can't help me, give me herbs to make me sleep. you helped me the first time “ the Sharma pretended to be confused. “ did I? I cannot remember ” “ you did ! I want you to make the herbs again for me. ”

“ what is it that makes you unable to sleep? ” the Sharma asked even though he has asked this question a hundred times before.

“ I see a woman in my sleep. she keeps waking me up everytime I fall asleep, red hair like the roses , beautiful green eyes like the forest trees in spring. procelein skin so clean and pure . somehow she disturbs my sleep and I cannot help but hate her for it. ”

“ so a woman is the cause of the great Emperor's sleeplessness. ? ” the Sharma laughed teasingly. “your cure is not in my shattering old house, it's in your palace . someone there can cure you. go home Emperor. ”

then the Sharma proceeded to push him out and shut the door. Kaliel stood glaring angryly at the old Sharma's door . “ stop glaring at my door Emperor it won't open for you. go home. “

at the same time. the high general galloped towards him , it would only take a sudden news to make the high general come out to the outskirt of the Empire to look for him .

“ Emperor, a prisoner was caught at the border of the Empire by our men on patrol. she was unconscious when found. ” she ?

“ End her ” he stated caring less. “ she's human Emperor. ” Kaliel and his wolf half became interested,a human? it is impossible for a human to arrive unaccompanied at the border of the wolves unless it was a message, a declaration of war.

he let his wolf emerge , a big brown wolf , dominant and mernancing enough that the high general bowed showing his neck as a sign of submission.

“ what does she look like high general ” his wolf half Kusam asked.

“ she has hair as red as roses and skin like procelein, clean and pure but covered in dirt and blood ”. his heart almost stopped beating. it was impossible.
