The sounds of swords clashing against one another rang like music in the air , she kept running never looking back,for looking back meant she'd fall , she didn't want to fall.

It was a sight many would not have believed to happen, Maria Alana, the princess of Marsa was running like a common slave without shoes , it would have been hilarious to think about was it not happening in reality . “ get her !!! ” the voices screamed behind her , making her run faster , she must escape them , she didn't know where exactly she was going but running was the only thing keeping her from potential death and so even if she was running towards the moon it was fitting.

It all started with her father's bad choices, a darned marriage choice that should never have been suggested . Her father's greed gave way for the fall of the great Marsa. Right before her eyes ,her kingdom was being reduced to mere rubble's and chaos , women running in all directions and children crying hopelessly, the men were dead , killed in a bid to save Thier already ruined home , there really was nothing left.

It was an unexpected attack, Marsa wasn't prepared for it, an attack by none other than her fiancee the high duke Gerald who had secretly trained assassin's under the seal of the king her father, and usurped the throne on the day of Thier wedding. She had been dressed, dolled up like a bride to meet her groom , it didn't matter to her father if she loved him or not for according to her mother love can always be found in marriage. She had agreed to keep peace for her mother in the eyes of her father because the greedy man would go to all extent to make the queen suffer the consequences of her actions.

But the wedding never happened, instead of being married,she was being chased by the very man she was to marry , how hilarious.

A sharp pain on her ankle made her stumble and fall. stand up and run “ her mind screamed at her but it was a futile attempt because the moment she stood up to continue running,the pain almost crippled her making her fall face flat on the blood soaked floor. She cried, tears of frustrations ran down her dirt soaked face. For once in her life she wished she was the child of a commoner for it would have been better than being the child of a man who caused this chaos , the worst thing was that her father chose the coward's death by stabbing himself and her mother in front of the temple before her tormentors gave her a chase.

Death was near , sweet death. She wondered what death was like? A feeling of eternal emptiness or was it as they say floating around and appearing to loved ones .she had no loved ones left to appear to and even if she had , they would hate her for being the cause of Thier almost destruction.

She looked at her bleeding foot cut by a shard of broken sword. She has done more running than she could ever remember doing in the whole of her existence, perhaps it was time to stop running from the inevitable and finally give up.

“ hello princess “ she looked up to meet the river blue eyes of the high duke , he was here , death was finally here. “ high duke ” she acknowledged, maintaining her regal posture, even though she was a fallen and ridiculed princess she was still a princess no doubt. The high duke smiled.

“ perhaps if the throne wasn't important to me, I would never have missed the opportunity of having you for myself ” he said and she closed her eyes to picture the dying face of her mother,it was filled with shock and confusion. “ why “ she finally asked . If she was going to die it was better to die knowing what had gone wrong.

“ I was meant for the throne, the rightful owner of the Marsa throne. But your father sat on it undeserving. He was a foolish king who didn't deserve Marsa and for that he along with his entire family had to pay. ” she nodded, agreeing to the fact that her father indeed was a very foolish king but he was obviously no different from her father , he has destroyed the land he was so greedy to rule. What would be left of Marsa after this ? Nothing

“my father had no heirs to his name. No male blood to sit on the throne should he die, my husband was to provide the throne with the next rightful king...." he smirked ,then laughed
