CHAPTER 4 - Engaged To My Troublesome Mate

CHAPTER 4

BRYAN’S POV

She continued to stare at the pictures in front of her I did not want to make things worse so I didn’t see anything yet. But the fact that she’s seeing The truth now it’s making me feel at ease. I always knew that’s good for nothing idiot was up to no good. Yes I do come from the worst pack around and everyone else ask it to associate with us. Who cares about all that? My pack isn’t all that bad though.

She is very beautiful and I can’t take my eyes of her it is quite strange that we only get to meet now. I’ve been with her almost all her life but she didn’t know that. Not exactly all her life, but for a few years now. Of course I have not been stalking her, I’ve just been do you know what I am supposed to do as her mate.

Looking out for her even though she’s annoying and I am not in love with her. I’m just doing what my father asked me to do before he died. I found out she was my mate when I shifted a few years later. Then I have been seeing what is going on.

I am Alpha Bryan of the Diamond pack and it is one of the most powerful packs in the world. Everyone else doesn’t want to associate with us, I also didn’t want my mate to be from another pack. Let alone this troublesome girl who is well known for the way she causes trouble and fights people. To be honest, I didn’t expect to even be doing this. But there’s a big reason and secret behind everything.

“ seriously? You like me so much that you can go to the extent of lying to my face just to get me to be with you? I am very disgusted by people like you I hate when someone doesn’t have any shame at all!” She insulted.

I shook my head. I’m trying to save her and she’s doing this? Of course I have my own benefits of saving her but why is she so bent on believing this guy?

“It’s called love. Something I don’t think you have and will never have.” She got up and left after giving me the middle finger to show her displeasure. I was left dumbfounded and don’t really know what else to say.

I mean I did try my best to help her but she is too stubborn to listen so I wish her good luck. I hope she learns her lesson. She’s going to come back when she has no where to go.

I walked upstairs to my room. I still wanted to hunt but I will leave that for another day. It’s late already. I took a long bath and helped myself to sleep. Yet, I couldn’t sleep because I kept thinking of what to do next. I have to marry her, so I can get what I want.

“I’m going to kill you!!!” I heard her voice in my head.

She’s the first woman who is this bold to talk to me this way. I guess she’s always ready to fight for herself.

……… FEW DAYS LATER ………

I still haven’t heard from her and the news have spread like wildfire. Everyone is now talking about how disgraceful she is and how she’s not supposed to be a Luna. Most people are secretly enjoying the drama. I know I should feel bad for this but I don’t. I am a cold person and I am doing what is right.

My assistant who is my Beta named Billy came to my study to talk to me. I have given him some tasks for the past few days and he has been busy. He’s the one who took the pictures of me and the trouble princess, then he sent it to her fiancé with my order.

How did we plan this?

We got information from our spy that she was on her way to her boyfriend’s place. I knew she liked to hunt but I wasn’t expecting her to do it. She probably planned to kill an animal for her boyfriend. I’m just shocked that I was able to lure her into my trap. I just took a wild guess.

“We already caught the deer Alpha Bryan.” Billy said.

I nodded, “You should release it when I give you a signal. Make sure to stay side by side until she runs to the other side of the woods which would be our territory. I don’t want you to waste this opportunity today.”

He nodded, “Yes, I’m quite aware of that. Nothing would go wrong as I did my best to make it work well.”

I smiled, “That’s good then. Whenever she’s out, start immediately. I would follow her and attack when she does.”

We remained hidden until we saw her coming. She was talking to herself when I signalled them to let the deer go. The deer came out, stopped and ran away after seeing her. She started chasing after the deer, and eventually we attacked at the same time.

While exchanging words with her, I saw Billy hiding in the bushes so I decided to carry out my plan. I then signalled him to leave with my eyes. He came back after she left me alone.

“You can get someone to carry the deer. Send the pictures to her boyfriend now and start the rumour.” I ordered him.

“She’s on her way here.” He informed me.

I nodded, “Is that so? I should probably prepare myself before she attacks me again.”

“Do you want me to tighten security?”

I shook my head, “You don’t need to. I think I can defend myself from her, I’m not going to be a coward and hide behind you people right? You should leave us alone and do not interfere. Complete your other tasks.”

“What have you found out?” I asked him.

“Everyone about what happened now and she’s getting into a lot of trouble. What I still don’t understand is how she is still stable after all of this. I don’t think I can be sane and strong if that happened to me. It’s totally messed up like seriously.” He replied.

I smirked, “That’s why I like her. She’s the definition of a real Luna. She’s going to help me a lot in future.”

“Do you think she’s going to accept being with you? I’m sure there are others like you who wants her. As much as the society thinks she’s not good, some people like her.”

“She doesn’t have a choice, does she?” I replied confidently.

Someone suddenly barged into my office without knocking. What on earth is that?!

“I’m so sorry your highness but you need to come quick. It’s an emergency.” He said hastily.

“An emergency? Is someone attacking the pack?” I asked without moving from my seat.

He shook his head, “It’s her… she’s here and she is bleeding too much.”

With that, I jumped up and ran out of my study. I met her at the entrance of the living room sitting weakly and her clothes covered in blood. I rushed to her and held her, she’s not supposed to die yet no matter what happens. And she’s not supposed to be bleeding too much like this. Where is the healing power in her?

“What’s wrong?! Are you okay?” I asked her.

“I don’t know what they stabbed me with. I think there’s poison in it, help me.” She said quickly before groaning in pain.

I looked at Billy who’s also kneeling with me. “Go get the doctor right now!”

He rushed away while I carried her up to my room. I used some clothes to suppress her tummy while waiting for him to come with the doctor. They arrived a short while later and he treated her while I waited.

You see, my doctor is not just an ordinary doctor. He’s a wizard with great healing powers, he’s helped me a lot. He gave her something to drink and she fell unconscious immediately. She isn’t moving and I hardly heard her breathing. I turned to him worried my plans are going to fail.

“What is going on Achilles? She’s not saying anything. She is not breathing.” I asked him.

He smiled, “She’s going to be fine when she wakes up. I still have to find out what kind of poison it is though. I will take a sample of her blood and update you later.”

With that, he took a sample of her blood and left. He did prescribe something to give her before leaving. I sat beside her wondering what exactly happened. Who are the people that did this to her and where did she get this injury from?

I’m very sure she went to cause trouble again and this is the result of it. I also do not know why she chose to come to my place of all places. She could have gone home to her father and brothers but she chose to come here. Probably because she doesn’t want them to see her in this condition.

I’ll be patient till she awakens and tell me all that happened. Billy came into my room right after escorting the doctor out.

“I want you to investigate what really happened. I want to know the entire truth and who should pay for this.” I told him.

He nodded, “I’ll get that information out as soon as possible. Should I get you anything? I don’t think you’ll be able to attend the meeting today. I’ll postpone it.”

“That’s good.”

She didn’t wake up until the next day. I saw her body slowly healing up and I am relieved. I already had breakfast when I came to check on her. I checked her temperature and her eyes fluttered open, she was glaring at me the moment she woke up. She never ceases to amaze me. I can’t believe she is giving me that look after I saved her life. Her clothes already got changed by someone from my workers, but I’m going to enjoy teasing her. She looks uncomfortable, this would be fun.

“You seem to be unhappy to see me.” I said smirking.

She sat up with the continuous glare, “What am I doing here?”

I arched a brow on inquiry, “Are you saying you don’t remember what we did last night? Are you trying to be innocent now?”

“What do you mean what we did?” Are you joking right now?” She asked again. Her voice getting hard, ooh I’m scared but not scared.

“You really don’t remember anything?” Is she playing dumb or does she really not remember anything?

She got up from the bed and winced in pain, holding her lower abdomen. She looked at me with widen eyes. What on earth is she thinking about me? I think I should stop teasing her since this isn’t funny anymore. She really doesn’t remember anything?

“You seriously don’t remember anything?” I asked for the umpteenth time.

She nodded, “Why would I be here in this place with you and having pain in my abdomen? You better tell me what you did right now before I snap your neck out of your fucking body!”

She loves snapping of necks surely. That’s all she keeps saying to me. I literally saved her life. I should call my doctor right and ask him what is going on. I suddenly got an idea.

“I think you should go take a bath first. After all, we just got engaged. You promised to marry me yesterday, you have to fulfill your promise. You swore with the moon goddess.” I lied.

Her eyes widened again. “No I didn’t!”

“You remember what happened now?”

She sneered, “F**k you! I’m not going to thank you for saving my life. Everything is your fault!”

She walked into the bathroom. Wow. What a powerful girl, she cracks me up every time.
