Chapter 2

Jaclyn Rae

My dad introduced me to his friend and his wife officially and we all sat down. I looked at the empty seat beside me and I'm one hundred percent sure that it's for the man that I'm arranged to.

"Noah will come soon, Jaclyn." Ivonne said as she looked at me a little worried. I smiled at her. "It's okay, Mrs. Clayton."

"Please call me Ivonne."

"Very well, Ivonne." I said politely and I saw Ivonne kept looking at her phone. I can assume that she's trying to contact Noah to come faster. We decided to order our food first and wait for Noah.

The food came but there's still no sign of Noah. It seemed like he's rejecting his mom's call. I really can't judge this man because he's a doctor. He might be jn a surgery or something. I can say that I'm quite disappointed with the arrangement.

I'm not the type to agree to this type of arrangement easily but I'm trying to be polite and not let my dad down. Harrison and Ivonne kept apologizing to me and my dad about Noah. I checked my watch and it's been 2 hours since we came here. We already ate our food and desserts but still not sign of Noah showing up.

"I'm so sorry but I think I have to go." I said as I looked at them one by one. My dad gave me a nod giving me permission to go. "I'm so sorry, Jaclyn." Ivonne apologized again.

"It's okay, the meal was nice. Excuse me." I got up from my seat and walked out from the private room. I took out my phone from my small clutch as I made my way out from the restaurant.

The valet chauffer immediately drove my car to the lobby and I paid him. I got into the car and closed the door. I checked my schedule on my phone for a second before putting on my seatbelt. "I wasted my time." I mumbled to myself.

Noah Clayton

I ignored the calls from my mom. I bet she will only ask me to come meeting the woman that she arranged me with. My parents dropped the bomb last night and I can say that I don't like the idea of it. We're living in the 21st century, I'm a doctor and I'm still young so why arranging me with someone?

I'm busy working and I don't have time to handle women.

The next day, my mom came to the hospital to work and she walked into my office angrily. "I couldn't believe that you didn't come yesterday!" She put her hands on her waist looking at me like she's ready to murder her own son.

"I'm busy, mom." I said as I gestured to her to sit down.

"You're embarrassing me and your dad!"

"I never ask you both to arrange me with someone, I was busy yesterday. I had two surgeries." I said and she sighed as she sat on the chair in front of my desk.

"I checked your schedule and you had none."

I ignored her as I kept checking my patient's condition through my computer. I'm not interested in having a relationship right now because I'm basically dating my job. It's not that I won't settle down, I will but maybe in my 30s which it's still far away.

"Noah."

"What?"

"Meet her once please.." She begged and I turned to her completely confuse.

"Who exactly this woman that you're trying to arrange me with? Usually you always send them here acting like my patient when they're not even hurt or have something wrong with their heart." I said with a slight hint of anger.

"Jaclyn Rae." I looked at her with confusion. Who doesn't know Jaclyn Rae? That woman is basically every man's dreams and fantasies. She's the model and the icon of Rae Motor Industry. When Rae Motor decided to launch a new product her face is everywhere billboards, magazines, posters, youtube ads, i*******m ads.. you name it. "Jaclyn Rae?" I asked her to make sure.

"Yes, that Jaclyn Rae. She's Jose Rae's daughter and you met him a few times before." To be honest, I was aware that Jose Rae is the owner of that company. He doesn't look like a billionare who owned that company. Maybe since he never appeared a lot in all those billboards and news about the company.

"Yes, but I never thought you will arrange me with her."

"I can say that she's disappointed that you didn't show up yesterday." I pushed the idea of the arrangement and her because I'm not trying to agree with the arrangement. My mom looked at me sadly and I turned my attention back to my computer.

"Next week, there will be a charity event. You will join us and there won't be any excuse, Noah." She said as she grabbed my hand, taking my attention.

"Mom, I seriously don't want to be with anyone."

"Meet her once and then I won't force you to see her again if you don't like her. I can arrange your brother with her." She held my hands tightly like her life was depending on it. I nodded and she squealed in happiness. "You will like her, I promise you that!"

She walked out from my office just like that. I turned to my computer and decided to dive on g****e. I typed her name because I wanted to know what kind of girl she is.

I'm quite curious to be honest because it's Jaclyn Rae. Who doesn't know her? Even my friends talked about her when we're in the resting room. I can't deny that she's really beautiful.

Her emerald eyes stood out the most for me when I see her photos online.. and her eyes.. her small dimple on her right cheek.. I found myself admiring her beauty. I wonder if she's that beautiful in real life?
