Se connecterI turned my head quickly to see the stranger.
A girl was standing with an amusing smile just a few steps away, Long pin straight luscious light brown hair reached below her waist, her eyes were a combination of green and yellow as she stepped closer I got to see her flawless skin. She walked gracefully in her floral dress like a stream of water flowing down from the mountains.
Her eyes sparkled with a smile as she stood in front of me, "Who are you hiding from?"
I looked at the young girl speechlessly, "Why do you think I am hiding from someone?"
She let out a small rich laugh covering her mouth with her fingers as she laughed, "Look around, this is not a place where you see people walking around daily just for fun."
She grew serious suddenly, "Most people can not even find this place. I guess this place picked you for a reason."
She sat down on the grass and started looking at the water with a smile.
I followed her action and took a seat next to her, "This is a forest, and werewolves like forests. Why don't people come here?"
She lifted her delicate shoulders, "This place is off limits for most people."
My eyes widened hearing this, "I am sorry, I did not know....I will leave.."
Before I could say anything else she started laughing once again, "Relax, I am Flora."
"I am Ruhee," I was still not sure about sitting there with the strange girl but there was a peaceful aura around her.
"Ruhee," she repeated, "you are not from here."
"I...uh...no."
She nodded, "What are you hiding?"
"I am not hiding from anyone," I replied a little too fast, thinking she must be asking her previous question again.
She turned to see me with a knowing smile.
"We all are hiding something in our hearts, some bury their secrets thinking no one would ever find them."
"What are you doing here?" I changed the topic.
She once again lifted her shoulder, "I like the forest."
She appeared young, I assumed she must be a teenager.
"Why is this place off-limits?"
She kept looking at the forest on the other side of the river, "Ask the Alpha."
I bit my tongue hearing his name.
"You must mean something to him if you are here," she further added.
My breath got stuck in my throat, "I...no I did not know this place was not for everyone. I do not mean anything to the Alpha."
She did not respond but turned her head to look at me.
I knew she was staring at me so I kept my eyes focused on the trees. There was a silence between us before the girl decided to break it.
"You should go back, someone might be worried about you."
I scoffed at her words, "Trust me that is not an issue. I am here just for a few more days then I will be gone"
I instantly shut my mouth, what was I doing? Telling a strange girl what I did not tell a soul.
I stood up and started removing the dry leaves from my clothes.
"It was nice meeting you, Flora," I said with a smile as I turned around to leave.
"Sometimes it is best not to hide."
I paused and inhaled a breath through my mouth. Hiding was the only thing I was good at, I hid from my bullies when I was young, I hid from the world once I realized I was a no-one.
I turned around to respond but to my surprise, the girl was gone. I looked around to find her but there were no traces of her anywhere.
"Flora?" I called her name but when no one responded I decided to head back.
I kept on following the trail of crosses I left on the way and pretty soon I was at the end of the forest. I did not realize how many hours I spent away from the mansion but the orangish-red sky was telling me it was more than a few minutes.
Walking slowly towards the front door I opened the door quietly.
I ignored the two men who paused once they saw me and continued walking towards the stairs until a loud voice stopped me.
"Where were you?"
The deep voice sent shivers down my spine, my whole body froze. I dug the nails inside my skin as I felt his presence behind me, my breath was becoming shorter.
"I asked you a question," he repeated, I could feel his breath on the back of my neck.
I gulped.
"I.." my voice was barely audible. I cleared my throat, "I was just outside."
"Aren't you familiar with the rules, princess?"
He was closer to me, his mouth was near my ear. I did not dare to turn around and face him.
"I...I.."
"You belong to me now, did you forget that?" There were no emotions in his voice, just coldness like on his face.
My eyes widened upon hearing this. It was the first time he was talking to me.
"I did not know who should I ask before leaving, Alpha, and I did not want to bother you."
There was a loud silence, my heart was jumping inside my chest. He was standing so close to me, I could feel the warmth of his body. I did not know for how long I could just stand there.
"Hmm..." his mouth was near my neck.
"Orion!" A loud screech came from someone making Alpha Orion growl a little.
I knew Chelsea was standing behind us. I turned halfway but did not look at her directly.
"There you are," there was a relief in her voice, "I have been looking for you. There are some people who want to see you."
Alpha Orion was still standing in front of me because of him I could not see Chelsea clearly.
"Go to your room."
He did not have to repeat those words. I ran without stopping until I reached the room and locked the door thinking about what just happened.
Hi beautiful readers ❤ I really hope you like the story so far. There might be so many mistakes and I want to apologize for them. A big thank you if you are still reading and I love you guys ❤
"How is he?" Rose was sitting on the stairs outside Kai's house, crushing something in a white mortar and pestle. She paused, hearing my sound. "Luna," she acknowledged my presence with a warm smile.I sat down next to her, "Can I see him?"She shook her head, "It would be best if no one meets him until he wakes up. I don't want the influence of dark magic on anyone else."I let out a breath, "When will he wake up?"It had been one day without Orion and I was feeling overwhelmed with everything. Bidding farewell to Celia and others was not easy, I had to make sure no one doubted Orion's absence. "The blue mark is fading," Rose replied as she added a palm-shaped leaf into the red paste and started mixing it. "I am sorry you had to stay here taking care of a person you have never met before."She smiled but the smile was dull compared to her other smiles, "I am helping you. My mother would have wanted this.""Where is your mother?"She hesitated and increased the motion of her hand.
Kai had returned but was unconscious.Flora was missing. The red moon had passed but the shadow moon was another mystery for me to solve. Orion was trying to find the person behind Kai's condition. Bernadette had given him details and footage of the areas around the pack, he was locked in his office trying to connect the missing strands. I let out a long breath and thought about seeing Celia."Luna," I was stopped by a voice, followed by a sound of someone colliding with something. I turned around to find Rose rubbing her knee with a scowl on her face. "Are you okay?" She immediately corrected her posture, "Yes, Luna.""I am just going to meet Aunt Celia," I informed her and waited to know if she was going in the same direction as well. She turned her head right and left to check if we were alone. "I-I need to talk to you," her words were careful. An uneasy feeling settled in my stomach. "The gamma." She stopped. I nodded giving her a sign to continue. She inhaled a deep b
The ceremony was completed 3 nights ago, we accepted each other in front of the whole pack and the pack accepted us in return with happiness For the first time, I had everything I wanted and nothing to wish for. I managed to sneak away from everyone to meet Flora, she had become a part of my life and yet I knew nothing about her. My foot steps were not slow, I was not taking my time to look at the trees and flowers on the way. I was running towards the river to greet my old friend and tell her the good news about surviving the blood moon.I finally slowed down after reaching the river and scanned the area. My smile dropped instantly, for the first time, there was no sign of Flora anywhere. "Flora?" I called out her name, which was foolish but for some reason, I thought she was nearby and could hear my voice.I waited before walking further, "Flora?"No response, just the sound of running water and birds. I decided to take a brave step and go to the other side of the river. I suc
"We can't thank you and your coven enough, Celia." Orion repeated. Celia smiled in response, "You are a part of our family now."Between the sounds of knife, fork and spoon, a sharp sigh got mixed in the dining room. I looked at Ruth, who kept cutting a piece of meat on her plate, the pieces kept increasing, but nothing was being eaten by her. She did not like me, it was not a surprise, it was understandable. Maybe she was also not sure about a stranger entering their lives. But she was my sister. They had proved their loyalty to us and now it was my turn to take a step in their direction. "But I must say, Alpha, I am not entirely happy." Silence. Bernadette and Orion shared a look, the lack of expression on their faces made it hard to read what was going on inside their head. But I knew they were thinking, were there any mistakes from their end in the arrangements for our guests?"Did we do something to upset you?" Orion was being careful with his words. Celia was too exhaust
"This is not right." My gaze kept moving between my hand, where I was feeling the faint warmth and the sky. The moon appeared normal...just like any other night. I had been feeling something in the pit of my stomach, at first I was sure it was fear....but it was not fear. It was doubt. The preparations had been made, Celia and Ruth were waiting for me where they had been staying. "Should I trust them?" The question had been bugging me ever since I returned from the forest. How could I trust anyone? I had learned from a very young age not to lower my walls for anyone...but these people were my family...my blood.Shaking my head, I put on a smile I had perfected over the years. The dagger sitting inside my jacket provided some comfort, if they did anything, I would be ready to protect my pack. ..."My dear, we have been waiting for you," Celia grabbed my hand and dragged me to stand inside a circle. Ruth did not bother to glance in my direction and continued feeding something to
The blood moon was almost above our heads. I could feel something in my body, the fear of losing people, the disappointment of letting others down, the confusion of my new identity."And that is why my dear you should always be careful with pronouncing your spells," Celia continued as she added some dry herbs into the cauldron. I smiled with a nod. She had been trying to teach me as much as she could, which meant she did not stop talking about the spells, coven, and moon. But the truth was I could not focus entirely on her words, so much was going on inside my head...I did not know if I should trust her. The boiling sound kept coming along with laughter of Celia as she told the story about 'my mother'."Dear, did you notice any signs of magic yet?" I shook my head, "Nothing so far."I knew Orion did not mention the change in eye color to anyone and I had promised Flora not to utter a word about what happened. She smiled, "It's completely fine, you might be a later bloomer."I just
