Tears streamed down my face.

On my knees, I signed the divorce papers, desperately begging Fiona Wainwright to spare my family.

However, in the next instant, my parents—Neil Grant and Deidre McCurdy—were thrown from the drop tower ride.

"No!" I screamed.

When I came to, I found myself back on the very day Fiona handed me the divorce agreement.

This time, I threw both the divorce papers and my resignation letter at her, saying, "This is what you wanted."

The moment the words left my lips, Fiona let out a mocking laugh.

"Logan, I asked for a divorce, not your resignation. Did you really think such a threat would make me bend to your will?"

Without hesitation, she grabbed a pen and signed the divorce papers.

Throwing them back at me, she snapped, "I already gave you a chance, but you didn't appreciate it. Since you're so eager to cause a scene, don't expect me to go easy on you."

After signing the divorce papers, she didn't even glance back and simply turned to walk away.

As I watched her retreating figure, my thoughts wandered back to five years ago—when we first started the company.

At those initial business dinners, I always took her drinks since she was allergic to alcohol. However, one night, it finally took its toll. I was rushed to the hospital with a bleeding stomach.

As her husband, I gave my all every single day for three years, pushing the company forward until it went public.

On the day we celebrated, she clung to me, her tears streaming down her face.

"Logan, I can't have children. I'll never be able to give you the family we hoped for. But you married me anyway and stood by my side. Thank you for sharing every struggle and every joy with me. If I betray you in even the slightest way, may peace forever elude me."

In my past life, that promise weighed on me for most of my days.

I truly believed we would grow old together. I had cared for her without hesitation and faced every hardship alongside her.

Even after I learned of her affair and that she was pregnant with another man's child, I foolishly held onto the hope that she'd come back to me.

It wasn't until she had me imprisoned because of that college student and caused my parents' deaths that I truly woke up.

I realized even the purest love could turn into bitter hatred.

After all, feelings were never set in stone.

As I touched the folds of my resignation letter, my eyes remained steady and composed.

This time, I vowed not to repeat the same mistakes.

If Fiona was cold-hearted, then I would have no choice but to let her go.

I decided to call my parents.

"Mom, Dad, I've launched a new business in Germovia. Could you go ahead and keep an eye on things for me? I'll join you in about two weeks once I've settled everything here."

My parents didn't ask any questions.

After ending the call, I handed the divorce agreement to my lawyer.

With that out of the way, I returned to the office, ready to pack up my things.

However, just as I pushed the door open, I froze.

A young man with refined features was sitting arrogantly in my chair.

"Mr. Grant," my secretary, Frank Pena, called out.

He spoke in a low, restrained tone, his eyes burning red with frustration. "Ms. Wainwright made a sudden decision this morning to have Mr. Chamberlain take over your role. The problem is, he hasn't even graduated from college. And on top of that—"

Fiona bent down and picked up Ed's phone. He hadn't even bothered to hang up.Out of nowhere, Ed grabbed a vase and hurled it at her."Go to hell! If it weren't for your money, I wouldn't waste a second pretending to care about you!"She tilted her head just in time. The vase shattered against the wall, shards spraying across the floor.Without a pause, she seized a baseball bat and brought it down on Ed's skull. In an instant, he was sent sprawling across the floor."So, the doctor said I'll never have kids, huh?" she whispered in his ear. "Today's exam revealed a tumor instead, didn't it?"Ed's eyes widened. "Maybe... Maybe it was a misdiagnosis. You had morning sickness, didn't you? Plus, your belly seems a little bigger now."Fiona let out a bitter laugh before striking him hard across the face. Letting go, she watched him crumple to the floor in a pathetic heap."How dare you lie to me again!"Ed suddenly spat in her face."You piece of shit! If it weren't for your money

"Ms. Wainwright, you wouldn't believe what a bunch of fools Mr. Grant's sales team was!"Despite Ed's desperate attempts to quiet them, his so-called friends continued mocking me and my team without mercy.Fiona's gaze grew icy by the second. Her slender fingers drummed softly on the desk, each tap cutting through the room like a cold wind."Are you finished?"Her hushed voice was enough to silence the entire office. In that instant, the college students caught the spark of fury in Fiona's eyes."Security," she commanded, pressing the intercom. "Escort all of them out. From this moment on, they're banned from ever setting foot in Wainwright Group again.""Fiona!" Ed yelled, trying to stop her. "They're my friends! Even if you throw them out, their salaries still need to be paid!"Fiona brushed his hand aside. "Salaries? I haven't even asked for a single cent from them." She jabbed a finger at the graffiti-covered project proposals. "Look closely. Are these really the 'capable

"What nonsense are you spouting?" I retorted, my eyes cold as ice. "Should I call Ms. Tillman and have her set things straight?"Suddenly, a sharp slap landed across my face.I stumbled back, my cheek burning with pain."Logan," Fiona said, her bloodshot eyes fixed on me. "Apologize to Ed right now, and I can overlook the watch."Ed cowered behind her, a smug smile playing on his lips.I shut my eyes, quietly blaming myself.
