Hello loves, thank you so much for your interest in my book and continued support. I can't express how happy I am to have you all :)
The wrecked packhouse is where we'll have the meeting, it's the only place that's left with a little privacy and right now that's what this meeting required, I suppose. Not that more secrecy would be helping our cause. The sight startles me to find Jax outside just a couple meters before me. Perhaps he wanted to spend as much time away from our parents as usual. With Oliver indisposed, it would just be us two. Like old time sakes. Yeah, maybe a few minutes of not getting our ears boxed about was good thinking after all. His head lifts when I come to stand next to him, releasing an exasperated sigh. "Doesn't look promising asshole. " His eyes lift once more to survey the area, giving out a light chuckle. "No it doesn't, but at least the women and pups are safe and we still have a camp. " "True, " I concede. "Mom wants them to return, but I think it's a horrible idea right now. " "Meaning, she wants to see Allison and know if her grandchild is okay. " "Yeah, " he nods. Jaxon go
RIDERGreen trees pass by in my peripheral vision, blurring together and morphing into something that becomes insignificant. I want to find my mate, I need to hold her, convince myself she's alive, even if she won't talk to me. Though we did make up, didn't we? "Look at us looking like busted rejects and about to kick the bucket anytime soon, " Quinn laughs hysterically, tapping his hand against the back of my seat. "Yeah this scene will definitely go down through the annals of time." "What the f***k?!" Veron barks. "Did you just hear what you said asshole? What anal?!" "Annals you dimwit, " Quinn retorts with a snort, moving to spell it out for him "ANNALS not anal. There's a difference. Why the hell would I think about talking about asses right now?" "Because you've been known to talk garbage that's why. " "Listen man-" Quinn starts getting defensive. "Just shut up. Everyone's ears are begging for a rest. Shouldn't you even be sleeping? It'd help speed up that busted clavicle o
There's only so much to do when you're a prisoner, but sitting around and playing queen isn't my style. It's been days since the last conversation with Ragna that scared the living daylights out of me, but that didn't mean I was gonna throw my plan of escaping out the window. My door creaks open slowly, peaking through the small crack as I slip through, hurrying down the hall. There are disgruntled murmurs down the corridor and as I draw closer, I realize it's Gale and Celene arguing about something, that by the looks of it won't be quelling anytime soon. "I don't want that, " Gale rebutts. "Well, you don't have much of a choice do you? It's what I want and what I say goes. " Celene replies smugly. "I'm the Luna!" "Please, you're just the entanglement that he just can't get rid or out of. You're no Luna here. You're a doctor, accept what you are and run along. " Gale grits her teeth and I could hear her growls from all the way back here. "You're right I'm also a doctor not the w
I blink, taking a closer glance at my palm, finding it devoid of any scars or wounds for that matter. Relief washes me immensely. The nightmare felt so real not to be, thank goodness it is. However, it's only a pity he can't be one. My gaze moves back to Ragna who has moved inwards of the room during my mounting panic, the door now shut, trapping us both within this small space. I move to sit up, wrapping the covers around my feet, watching wearily as he takes a seat at the edge of the bed, the poor thing, dipping beneath his huge weight. A weight I'd have to get used to bearing quite soon if I didn't figure a way out in time. Photos of Ragna pounding into me suddenly clouds my mind and I quickly shake the trauma away. One struggle at a time. "The Luna ceremony is in the next two days," Ragna says. "You do know that right?" "How would I know that? No one tells me anything. " "Are you getting cold feet?" I pause, a little stunned at the tenderness in his voice, before recovering.
RIDER I glanced inside the wrecked truck finding Oliver staring back at me. "Hey" He says as if he's not hanging upside down and bloody. Taking a deep breath, I grabbed hold of the door, pulling it off. "Get the hell out. " "Yeah, I don't need any help at all," Oliver says flatly. My baby was dented, the bonet blown, resting against the tree that it crashed into. Engine smoking, probably fried, and in no condition to get us anywhere or be mended for that matter. Don't think about how hard you worked on it Rider, just don't think about it, I chastised myself. I tore through all the baggage, throwing most of them out, before pulling the seat belt off releasing him from the seat. "Sam's on the other side. " "Fine," I grunted. I take Oliver beneath the arm, helping him out from the car, assessing his injury as he slumps against a tree. His eyebrow were bleeding as was his lip as he ran his hand through his hair. I poked my head on Sam's side of the car finding her unconscious an
RIDER "Are we gonna talk about last night?" "No", I brushed Oliver's question to the side and kept walking, a scowl on my face. "Wait, " he grips my upper arm but I yank it away refusing to stand and talk. I already said no, he should just let it go. "Hey! " Oliver runs up blocking my path. "I get it okay. You don't know what to do about your mate, you don't know if you'll be able to save her. I get that. " "Really?" "Yeah, " he answers, either oblivious to the sarcasm in my voice or he chose to ignore it "No, no you don't get it. " "I'm a brother too, you know. I'm a part of the family. I get it. I'm the outsider between you and Jax. We all know you both grew up together. The only other reason I'm here is because Allison is my mate. So I get how you feel. It's the same way I felt when Jax took his sister away without even consulting me first. It made me feel insufficient, makes me question my role as the pack's Gamma. I wondered if he didn't trust me enough. But most of all, I
I glance up and down the hall ensuring that no one sees me before slipping into the room, hearing a groaning wolf toss and turn in her bed. Gale had given me monkshood a few days ago and I've managed to get a little of it into the she-wolf's water. I know it poisons, but just enough will render her powerless for me to do what I need. The door slips shut with a click and I hurry over when she moves to sit up groaning and clutching his stomach. "What the hell are you doing in my room?!" Celene hisses at me. "Careful, you're already in a bad state, don't want to worsen your situation do you?" Celene grits her teeth at me from her position against her bed, glaring at me. "You're the runt that poisoned my water?!" "I'm the runt that could potentially cure you should you heed my instructions. " Celene laughs, throwing her head back against the headboard. "Oh you've got some balls on you, waltzing into my bedroom with ultimatums. Who says I can't just rip your head off and do the ceremo
My body feels heavy, like lead, my mouth dry and when I open my eyes, everything is suddenly too bright. I lifted my hand to my eyes, feeling my body suddenly spilling over and I fought to catch myself, hands pulling me backwards instead. When I finally open my eyes, it's almost noon, and I'm strapped to a chair, a cream-colored lace grown attached to my person while women placed the remaining decorations in my hair. My feet are bare, my shoes confiscated and if I run away by some weird chance, I wouldn't be able to get far. Flower petals and blossoms line the way to some final destination, children running around happily as if sealing my fate with a monster was a royal decree. Eventually someone releases the bands that keep my body and feet hostage and I hold onto the chair, standing up. "How was your sleep?" Ragna asks, his unexpected presence making me jump. "What did you do to me?" "Nothing that you didn't cause on yourself, " He says looking me over. His eyes slid down my body
