The firm but gentle command washed through the haze of confusion. Her eyes widened as her gaze found his, she rose, her legs shaky, and she rubbed her hands down her thighs in an attempt to steady herself.
Then she took that first step and walked around his desk to where he was still seated in his executive chair. He reached for her hand and once he had his fingers intertwined with hers, he dragged her down onto his lap. She landed clumsily but he adjusted on the chair to create more room for her so she was nestled against his chest and tucked into his side.
With his free hand, he went gentle for her neck and gentle dragged her face so she was looking directly at his. Eyes matching and their faces just and inch away from each other. With the other hand he held back closer to him. “The relationship I’m proposing is not a quite different,” he said. “I’ll not have you agree to it without knowing exactly where you stand and what you can expect from it.”
“How nice of you Mason,” she said dryly.
He gave her hair a slight tug. “Little Tease.” They could feel each other’s breath now and it just made the situation they were in hotter.
He stared into her eyes. He moved his hand upwards to her lips where he traced the outline of her mouth with the tip of his index finger. “I want you, Lisa. And I’ll warn you. I’m very used to getting my way, and I always do”
“So, you want me to work for you and you want…me. Physically, I mean.”
“Oh yes,” he murmured.”
“And this relationship you propose. What exactly do you mean by different?”
He hesitated for the briefest moment. “I’ll own you,” he said bluntly. “Body and soul. You’ll belong to me.”
She paused, that sounded so…heavy. She couldn’t wrap her brain around it.
“I’ll guide you through this,” he said in a gentler tone. “I’m not going to it all out on you at once throw. I’ll be patient as you learn your way through the kind of relationship I expect.”
“I honestly don’t even know what to say right now,” she blurted out.
They were still on eye level, their mouths just a few breaths apart. “I think this is where you tell me that you accept my proposal Lisa,” Mason prompted.
“I know you want me as badly as I want you?”
Oh God, was this really happening? Did she dare to say the words out loud? It was like standing on the ledge of a skyscraper and peering over the edge. Wind in your face, knowing one misstep and you will fall. His mouth moved closer, skimming over her jawline, his lips just brushing her skin. He nipped at her earlobe that sent chills racing across her flesh.
“Tell me what I want to know now Lisa, I am not such a patient man” he commanded in a husky voice that whispered over the shell of her ear.
“Y-yes,” she croaked.
“Yes what?”
“Yes, I want you.” The admission escaped with a sigh from her lips. She couldn’t even look him in the eye.
“Lisa, fucking look at me.” There was a calm authority in his voice that registered with her. Made her aware of his presence, of him as a man. And made her want him all the more. She turned her gaze on him, saw the desire in his eyes. He caught her hair then, tugging slightly as he delved his fingers into her hair, twisting the strands around his knuckles.
“I have a contract,” he said.
“It outlines every arrangement involved in our proposed relationship. I want you to read over it very carefully this weekend and then I want your decision on Monday.”
She was a bit startled that she didn’t immediately find words. “A contract? You want us to have a contract?”
“It’s for your protection. And mine.” She shook her head in confusion.
“I don’t even understand.”
“My tastes are extreme, Lisa. Read the contract and read it carefully. And then consider whether you can commit to the kind of relationship I demand.”
“You’re serious?” She asked still staring wide eyed at him. He was probably pulling her legs she thought. He’s such a joker.
His brows drew together, then he leaned over, putting his arm tighter around her waist to prevent her from falling out of his lap. He reached into his desk drawer and pulled out a thick document that was paper clipped together. Then he dropped it on her lap.
“Take the weekend. Read over it. Make sure you understand it. I’d like your answer Monday morning. If you need clarification on anything, we can discuss them then.”
“So that’s it then,” she said, still bewildered by it all. “I go home, read your contract and then we meet on Monday to finalize the terms of our relationship?”
His lips tightened and he nodded. “In a nutshell, yes.”
“You make it sound like a negotiation, like it’s one of your hotel or business deals”, she said.
“This not a fucking negotiation,” he said a bit harshly. “Just remember that, Lisa, read the contract. You either sign or don’t sign. But if you do, you’ll adhere to those terms.”
She sucked in a deep breath then and lifted the document from her lap. She then slid from Mason’s lap.
He picked up his phone. “I’ll have my driver arrange your ride here Monday morning, even if you do drive yourself there, you definitely won’t be able to drive back home when I’m done with you.”
“You’re so sure of yourself,” she murmured.
He smiled sheepishly, his eyes on her, fixed on her gaze “The only thing I’m sure of is that I’ve waited entirely too damn long to have you.
Instead of driving back to her apartment where she knew Ross might be waiting, she stopped at a park, just two blocks from where she lived. She had to tell him her real feelings now, she knew she had already accepted Masons proposal, there was no way she could say no to him. She didn’t have the guts. The small park wasn’t often overcrowded at this hour of the morning. Mostly children and nannies or young pre-schoolers playing. The contract was stuffed into her bag and she clutched it against her side as she made her way to an empty bench the farthest distance from the playground where she could be sure of some measure of privacy.Mason’s autocratic demand that she quit and come to work for him echoed in her mind. Although she could very well live off of the men in life for as long as she wanted but the money Chris had put into her education, she needed to figure out her next step, and to somehow make her feel good that she wasn’t completel
Mason Remington was going to burn in hell for eternity and he didn’t give a care. Lisa Woods walked into the room where Remington Atlantic was holding its grand opening for its newly launched Hotel and he hadn't been able to take his gaze off her.She was fucking stunning but sadly a forbidden fruit. His best friend’s little sister. As if that wasn't enough, she was engaged to be married to her long-term boyfriend, Ross or Ryan, whatever his name was he absolutely hated him.The little girl he watched growing up wasn’t so little anymore. She’d become somewhat of a burden for him whenever she came close. Her scent, her eyes, her freakishly cute smile. He'd try to fight it but found himself unable to resist her powerful lure. But he was done, he wasn't going fighting it any longer. She was here, tonight, and his best friend Chris was nowhere around, along with her stupid boyfriend which only more than confirmed to Mason that t
Lisa Woods was stunned. There was something about the man that just made her stupid. She couldn’t talk, couldn’t think, couldn't form a single coherent thought. Oh no her fantasies, her imagination…they had nothing on the real thing. Her legs wobbled and shook, and she prayed she wouldn’t go down, a victim of the heels she’d worn. Nothing in the world could have prepared her for what just happened. Mason had kissed her. Not just kissed her, but he’d dragged her away from the crowd and ravaged her.Her lips still tingled from his sensual assault. She was wrecked. Totally wrecked. Was she dreaming? -- She knew she hadn’t drunk that much so she was sure it wasn't the alcohol. It was Mason. The man lethal to her senses. Her fixation.Oh God she felt sorry for Ross, any little feelings she had for him had just been flushed down the drain. In totally honesty she was never really in love with hi
“So let me get this straight. You bailed on coming to my place for dinner so you could go to some stuffy grand opening of Mason Remington, your brother’s friend hotel, and while you were there, Mason offered you a job. Which you are to go for the interview in his office at Eleven this morning.”Mia slouched on the couch across from her boyfriend Ross, rubbing her eyes in an effort to get rid of the sleep hanging over her. She hadn’t slept very much all night. How could she?She should be doing this or lying to him, she doesn't even need a job or money. Chris always provided generously for her. An apartment, whatever she needed, even though after graduating she’d made the effort not to rely on him for support. It was a miracle that she actually completed her degree and graduated with honours. Chris and Mason had pointed out that much earlier that it was a perfectly useless degree. Chris had wanted her to pursue a business degree. He
Lisa got out of her car and gave the keys the valet, she was driving a CRV nothing fancy, she just needed to be mobile and she hated the thought of having to wait for a driving to take her anywhere. She was in front of Remington Atlantic, she m sighed at the positively gorgeous weather. The wind ruffled her hair, hinting at the little chill was inevitable. The days were getting cooler than usual. She hurried into the high-rise building and dug out her security pass. To get by the turnstile leading to the elevators. She been given the pass when given a tour of offices when it newly opened a few years earlier, but she hadn’t had to use it very often since she was usually with Chris when she visited. She checked her watch when she got on the elevator. It was five minutes to Eleven, and she hated being late. Not that she was—at least not yet—but she was one of those people who was always early. Being late made her anxious,
