Chapter Twenty-two

As I stood in front of the hospital, I clutched the strap of my bag tightly. It was as if my feet were nailed to the ground, refusing to enter the hospital.

"You want me to go inside alone?" Ellias asked as he waited for me to stop crying.

We've been out here for a long time since we arrived at the hospital. But I still can't calm down.

How can I calm down? How am I supposed to stop crying when I know I'm going to see Eugene's lifeless body when I walk into that place?

"Don't cry, I'm sure Eugene is waiting for you; his body is inside, so come on," he persuaded me as he pulled my arm, helping me in taking a step forward.

Because of my loud crying, the pastors, guards, and nurses of the hospital were distracted after we entered.

"Shh, just relax," Ellias said, patting my back repeatedly.
