LOGINI moved quickly behind my desk, trying not to think about the way Mr. Blackwell had looked at me and the way his touch had made my heart beat faster. I grabbed my name badge off of my black leather bag, the one I had spent far too much money on. I quickly rushed towards the elevator and pushed the button to take me to the basement. As I waited I nervously tapped my foot and pushed my glasses up my nose, I glanced back towards his office.
My thoughts were racing as I waited, I needed to just let it go. Maybe I was reading too much into the situation? The short time I had been working here I had heard rumors in the breakroom, about Mr. Blackwell and the women he liked and the things he liked to do behind closed doors.
Biting my lip I looked back at the smooth metal elevator doors in front of me, I hadn’t seen him bring anyone to his office and we’ve worked plenty of late nights with no one bothering to check in on him. Maybe he was having a dry spell as well?
The elevator dinged open, cutting my thoughts short as I stepped into the small confined space. I watched the doors slip closed as I thought about the water-cooler gossip I had heard when I first started, I leaned back against the cool metal wall and closed my eyes thinking about what I had heard that started my little daydreams.
“Did you hear about Mr. Blackwell and Sarah from accounting?”
“What, no. I didn’t think she was into the kinky stuff that I’ve heard he likes.” A shocked feminine voice said in hushed tones, causing me to glance up from my salad.
Two overly polished women stood by the espresso machine, their blonde hair perfect and lustrous reminding me of a shampoo commercial. I looked back at my lunch, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, trying not to call attention to myself as I eavesdropped in on their conversation.
“Apparently he likes to spank beforehand, or at least that’s what she told me.” The one with long perfectly curled blonde hair said.
“I’d let him spank me anytime,” Blonde number two said, at least that’s what I had labeled them in my head. It made me smile thinking about a factory mass-producing perfect looking secretaries, I could never be one of them try as I might.
“Tiffany from advertising said he’s a literal beast between the sheets.” Blonde number one said turning away from the counter and heading towards the doors, blonde number two’s heels clicking behind her.
“Shut up, they did not sleep together.” She said in hushed tones, I could feel my ears burning from their conversation and I felt a little guilty about listening in.
“They so did, she told me so herself-” I could hear the clicking of their stiletto heels and their voices trailing off down the long corridor.
One thing I had learned through that day, my new boss and I had the same kind of kink. Although with what they had said I decided that I would try and stay away from him as best as I could. I wasn’t going to be some notch on his bedpost, a fantasy here and there was okay.
It didn’t need to go further than that, or so I had thought until he had used that voice earlier. I could feel my cheeks warming up again, the elevator opened and I looked up checking to see which floor it had stopped on, it was the basement. I looked down at the list as I walked out of the elevator, hopefully, everything would be easy to find and I could carry it all up in one go.
I ran into something hard and firm, I lost my balance teetering on my heels when his hand grabbed me firmly pulling me into his chest. He smelled amazing, I looked up into a set of twinkling violet eyes.
“If you wanted me to hold you all you had to do was ask little one,” he said smirking down at me.
“Louis,” I said backing up and straightening my blouse.
“I love the way my name rolls off your tongue.” He whispered stepping closer to me as I stepped back.
“So not appropriate,” I said warning him, this was a place of business and his casual flirting could get us into trouble or at least called into HR.
“When did I ever say I was appropriate?” Louis said with a low chuckle making me roll my eyes.
“This is why they keep you in the basement, I’m here to pick up some things for Mr. Blackwell,” I said holding up the sheet of paper.
“You wound me so,” I watched as he clutched his chest in mock pain, “I thought you were here to finally confess your love for me.” He said plucking the paper from my hand with two long elegant fingers.
“You’ll survive,” I said rolling my eyes a small smile playing across my lips even as I tried to fight it.
“Will my heart though?” Louis said glancing back at me with a smirk on his full lips.
Chapter Thirty-EightNash would have been handsome if he wasn’t so broken. So cruel to those he considered beneath him. He dragged a hand through his short cropped hair as he let out a snarl. I could tell that he was in the mood to do damage, and I had a moment where I felt pity for his latest pet.“Where is she?”I lifted an eyebrow at him as I moved closer to the door.“My pet, she’s out of her room.” He growled out at me.“Nash, I don’t concern myself with your lovers. You should keep up with your pets better. Losing your dragon, your demon, now this one.” I said, looking over my shoulder at him, “You could always find someone else to hunt.” “I can’t head out like this.” He said, gesturing to his face and chest.“Not my concern.” Shrugging, I stepped into the hallway as he stomped past me. “Next time, don’t take on someone you can’t win against.” “Oh, I won’t.” He called, his heavy footsteps moving deeper into the cave as I walked to my room. My body ached for sleep and I longe
Chapter Thirty-SevenI wanted to be with them, I wanted to say goodbye to Amelia. To bury her, to beg her for forgiveness. Opening my eyes, I looked at the metal plate that was bolted into the wall. I had to get back to them. Had to find a way out of this that wouldn’t bring the council down on them. Laying down on the floor I closed my eyes, I couldn’t bring myself to lay in the same bed that Vega slept in. I could only hope that she would let her guard down around me. That she would give up this idea that her father had, that we would be mated. The idea was repulsive. Keys moved into the door and I brought my arm up over my eyes. I needed to rest. If Vega was going by traditions, then tomorrow she would be sending out invitations for a feast to do our engagement announcement. A ball would be held after that.I wasn’t going to let that happen. If I couldn’t get out of this, I’d get myself thrown into the pit. At least there I could fight for my freedom. Or die trying. The d
Chapter Thirty-Six“Tarak.” He addressed me by my title instead of my name. “You should never tie a lady up unless she asks for it, and our Vega has not asked for it. Nor will she ever.” He dug the blade in deeper and I released the chain. Vega let out a breath, I rolled my eyes. The blade eased up as he stepped back away from me, Vega dipped under my arm. Moving away from me, spinning around, I looked at Izar. His face smooth and unreadable. If Vega could have picked a mate. He would have been perfect for her the way that he played the council’s games.“If you’re quite done.” He said in a curt tone as he tucked his dagger back into its sheath at his waist. His skin looked like marble in the dimly lit room. His shimmering dark blue suit was immaculate tailored. Pale fingers moved over his blazer. Straightening the fabric, he fastened one of the silver buttons. “Vega and I have announcements to look at.”“Announcements for what?” I asked, leaning against the stone wall behind me, watc
Chapter Thirty-FiveI brought my hand to the back of his head, pinning him against me. I didn’t want this feeling to end. My beast was beneath the surface. She wanted to flip him over, to dominate him.Show Sin who he belonged to, who he was bound to. My succubus wanted to keep feeding from him, even though she’d had her fill. He moved his hand, threading his finger through mine. Pulling them away from his head as he kissed my shaking thigh. Silver eyes peered up at me as he gave my clit one last kiss before he climbed up my body. Pushing up, I pressed my lips to his. Moaning, he pulled back, smiling down at me “I think I’ve created a monster.”“No, one has been awoken.” ***Marcus POV***I didn’t want Louis to feel what I was feeling. The pain from Amelia, I worked hard to buffer it away from him. Worked harder to hide my worry as they’d dragged me away. How I’d felt watching Louis wrap his arms around Amelia. Dragging her to the ground to put Nash’s flames.Nash who I was going
Chapter Thirty-FourMy sisters may have healed me to a certain point, but I knew that Sin would take care of me. Tomorrow morning I’d be going home with my mates. Moving my hand to the waistband of his jeans, I let out a frustrated growl as I realized I couldn’t undo his jeans with one hand. “Patience, my fire walker.” He chuckled against my lips as he brought his hands down between our bodies. “Let me take care of you.”Sin undid his jeans. His hand skimmed over my side as he moved the head of his cock against my slit. Coating himself in my arousal, he growled in my ear when I tried to roll my hips. The sound sending shivers down my spine, “You always feel so right.”He inched his cock inside of me and I pushed my hips up, bracing my hands on the bed. Trying to anchor myself to keep from getting swept up in the feelings that I knew he’d pull from me.“Like you were made for me, like I was made to be bound to you.” He said sinking deeper, not letting me take control. “Ah, ah, ah.
Chapter Thirty-ThreeI watched my sister glare at her mate as he held her against his chest and Sin let out a chuckle, “Some things never change.” Looking over at him, I couldn’t help but feel the warmth from our bond. He was happy, even if that happiness held the tinges of sadness. I could feel something in him that gave me hope. Sin was sure that we would get Marcus back. My sister and her mates left us alone with Doc. I watched the older woman move about the room. Returning to the bedside with a bag of saline that she swapped out with the now empty bag. Sin looked at her and she pressed her lips together, I could tell that she wasn’t happy they were still with me. It was good that she wasn’t trying to kick them out. I felt better with them near me. “It’s just fluids.” She said, "Dragon’s fire and the healing has left you a little drained. After this bag you should be fine. I’m going to try to get some rest, you should too."Sin’s hand gripped mine, I watched her go. Peekin
Chapter SevenLouis Sighing, I placed my hands on my desk. Rolling my shoulders, glad to be done with my search. I glanced at the clock, wondering if Marcus had sent Amelia home yet? It was strange, I had never wanted to hunt someone. With her I wanted that, I could only imagine watching her as sh
Chapter EightMarcus and I made our way to the parking garage. He moved to the passenger side and I slipped in the driver’s side. Closing the door, he loosened his tie and unbuttoned the top button of his collared shirt. There was just something about being alone with him and the way he let down hi
Chapter NineMarcus Leaning closer, I pressed the button to open the garage. Smiling as Louis gasped at my nearness. I liked that even after all this time, I still had this effect on him. The confined space smelled of his arousal. It made me hard. Knowing that he wanted me just as much as I wanted
Chapter Six“Vega requests an audience with you.” The voice said on the other end purred through the phone and had to bite back a growl of frustration.“How many times will I have to ask you not to do that?” “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He said with a chuckle that I could feel moving
