Prologue

Rose was going back to the ball when she felt a pang on her chest. It was as if someone just ripped her heart out of her body. She couldn't bear the pain anymore and fell to the ground. A maid came running to help her.

"Princess are you okay? What happened? Should I call the King or the Queen?" she asked Rose. But Rose couldn't reply to her questions. She let out a deep howl and her wolf started crying and howling in her head.

"Our mate is dead Rose," stated Serene, Rose's wolf. Rose heard some voice behind her before she lost consciousness.

At Rose's room......

King Luther was pacing around the room while the pack doctor was checking on Rose. The Queen was seating beside her head on the bed. After examining Rose the doctor went to the King.

"What happened to my daughter?" King Luther asked in a worried voice.

"The Princess had just now suffered from the heartbreak because of the death of her mate." said the doctor bowing his head. No one dared to look directly at the Royals.

"How can she suffer from a heartbreak when she doesn't even meet her mate till this afternoon?" asked the King. It was more like he was asking himself.

"She met her mate this afternoon my King but he is dead now," said Sheila from the doorway.

"What do you mean he is dead? Who dared to kill the Royal Princess's Mate?" asked the King in his Royal wolf tone. Everyone present in the room immediately knelt down bowing their head.

"My King nobody knows how he died. When I reached there I only found his body. His head was ripped from his body. With my experience I can say that he was killed by a powerful Alpha or any ranked wolf." said Jason, he is the second in command of the King.

"How could it happen in my territory that too without me knowing anything?" yelled the King.

"We do not report an omega's death to the King. Their death is normal and their life means nothing to us. Moreover, he was not from our territory, he was with an Alpha who came here to attend the mating ball. We would have let this matter go like other omegas unless he was the mate of the Princess," replied Jason.

"An omega was mated to my daughter? How could it be possible? How could the moon goddess become so rude to my only daughter? She must have a strong mate to gai.." the King was stopped midway when he felt a hand on his shoulder. The way his anger calmed down by the touch, he knew it was his mate, his Queen. When King Luther looked at his Queen she squeezed his shoulder and forbid him to say something unexpected by moving her head. King Luther calmed down and left the room.

After two days Rose gained her consciousness. But she started crying from the moment she got her consciousness. Her wolf Serene was also weeping because of the loss of her fated mate. Queen Daisy tried her best to persuade her daughter but Rose was adamant. In the afternoon Sheila came to meet Rose and from her Rose got to know the truth of her mate's death. Some brutal Alpha or ranked wolf killed her mate without any reason. This news only increased her crying and hatred towards the title Alpha. She closed herself in her room and stopped eating or meeting with someone.

It was the second day of Rose being closed in her room when The King came and opened the door with the spare key.

"Why are you here father? Please let me be alone for some time." Rose pleaded to her father.

"You have closed yourself here for two days and you didn't eat anything for more than three days. What do you expect from a father?" asked King Luther angrily.

"How can I eat father? I lost my mate." Rose said while crying.

"Don't weep over a shaky omega. Rose, you are a royal princess; the next line Queen of the Northern Kingdom." yelled king Luther Frost.

"He wasn't just any omega father; he was my destined mate," Rose shouted in between sobs.

"He wasn't cut out to be your mate. Stop squandering your time on a deceased servant. You should choose a powerful Alpha as your mate. Who could rule this kingdom and fight alongside you," said the king.

"Just because he was an omega under some manipulative alpha doesn't mean he wasn't my mate. And just because someone has the rank of alpha doesn't mean he can be my mate." Rose said to her father.

"Don't yell in front of me. Remember, I am your king. Without a king, you cannot rule the kingdom. As a consequence, you must find a strong alpha to be your chosen mate." Declared the king and was about to leave the room when he heard Rose's voice.

"All right, father, I'll choose the alpha who is strong enough to defeat me." Said Rose with determination and venom in her voice.

"What do you mean by that?" asked King Luther. He was a bit stunned by his daughter's words.

"I mean what I said, father. I will only marry an Alpha if he can defeat me." Rose replied bluntly.

"So now you are going to challenge all the alphas who want to marry you? Are you out of your mind? Do you know how cruel an alpha can be if you challenge his strength? You are a woman Rose, so behave like one." said her father.

"I am a woman but not a weak one and I am a princess, whoever will marry me will be getting the title of a king so he must have to prove it as you said I have to marry a strong alpha. And this is my final decision father." Rose said and closed the door without waiting for her father to reply.

'I will rip the arrogance from the alphas and prove that they are no match for me in place of my destined mate.' Rose thought herself. Only if she knew that she is going to meet her second chance mate soon.
