Cassie is on fire.

She is wandering around Mathias for half an hour with her heart pondering. She tries not to be clumsy like that high school girl who is excitedly stalking Mr. Raptis.

Whenever Cassie struggles to meet his gaze, Mathias turns to answer a friend. Or when she tries to offer him a drink, someone drags the man to the furthest corner of the garden.

Cassie huffs as her shoulders fall in disappointment. It is getting late and the party is about to end. She has no idea when she can see Mathias after today for-

“Is that Cassie?”

She shivers head to toe after hearing that scratchy female voice.

Oh, no. No, no… Turning around slowly, she looks at the owner of it, at Mrs. Raptis.

Mathias’s wife.

The arrogant woman is examining Cassie with a haughty gaze like she used to do in the past. Like she is trying to find a physical defect on Cassie’s body that she can never find. When their eyes finally meet, Cassie sees the sourness in the woman’s eyes that results from the failure.

Mrs. Raptis is known by her disdainful attitudes toward people in the neighborhood as having a rich family, thanks to her husband’s high-income business. Unlike Mathias, she loves putting their wealth in people's eyes.

Emily Raptis can’t stand that if someone has a nice appearance than hers or a more successful child than her babies. She is obsessed with giving the impression of a perfect family, but Cassie knows that their flawless image is just a false facade.

“Yes, it’s you.” Emily says with a feigned surprise. She is chilling with a few neighbors around her. “I almost couldn’t recognize you, my dear. Looks like you’ve gained weight.”

Cassie struggles to beam a confident smile but fails. “It’s nice to see you, too, Mrs. Raptis.” She anxiously pushes a strand of hair behind her ear. “Actually, I am at my ideal weight.”

Becoming a confident and successful young girl after all those years, Cassie shouldn’t be intimidated by Emily but she just can’t help it. Even lots of male fans who adore her alluring physique is not enough for Cassie to be confident against this woman’s criticizing gaze.

Emily cocks her perfectly shaped eyebrow. “I am sure you have some extras.” She purses her lips disapprovingly. “You should reduce eating fatty foods, my dear.”

Ugh, the audacity!

While Cassie’s heart dips to her stomach against those rude words, another neighbor interjects. “In fact,” Aunt Gilda says. “I’ve been trying to shape my hips exactly the way she has.” Wrapping an arm around Cassie with affection, she looks at her in the eye. “What I wouldn’t give to have a narrow waist like yours, Cass.”

She thanks Aunt Gilda for smiling warmly. This lovely hairdresser is her mother’s best friend and Cassie’s favorite neighbor in Long Island.

Other women ask her questions about her life in Los Angeles. Cassie always wanted to become a manager and do her own business. Four years ago, she left her hometown for education in LA. She graduated from Portes College, Department of Restaurant Management with honor and flew back to her home.

“My Avra will finish law school next year.” Mrs. Raptis says out of nowhere. “You should see how successful she is. I am sure she will be an honor student.” Then she turns to Cassie and sadly draws. “I hope you can find a nice job soon, my dear. It is not easy to become a thing in your field.”

Cassie grits her teeth and inwardly curses that arrogant woman. This is her house and she can’t cause a scene that would embarrass her parents. Also, when it comes to Emily, she always turns into a tongue-tied little girl. This woman has a strange spell over Cassie that she can’t name. So, she just smiles and thanks Mrs. Raptis for her best wishes and turns around to walk toward the cocktail table.

How could an ice floe like Emily pick up a warm-hearted man like Mathias and hold him inside her palm for years?

“I will never learn how.” She restlessly murmurs to herself. Lost in her thoughts, she can’t see her father and his friend getting closer to the cocktails.

"Oh, Cass." Peter calls her, shaking Cassie out of her stupor.

She turns around and sees Mathias is standing right behind her like a marble statue. Thank God he is not looking at her or she would turn into a puddle in front of his feet.

Swallowing with excitement, she looks at her father. “Yes, dad?”

Her father seems uneasy. "We couldn't do it today, but tomorrow I will give you a ride, okay?"

"It's okay, dad." Cassie smiles at him, she needed to go shopping but her father wasn't available all day. "Another time we-"

"I can drive you to the town now." Mathias interrupts.

Cassie surprises against his kind offer, then freezes. The idea of being alone with him in a narrow space makes her speechless.

Hot. It's so hot today.

"You are not going home?" Her father asks with confusion.

"Unfortunately." Mathias casually answers. "I need to catch another meeting."

Is it only her, or is it very hot today?

"Oh thanks, buddy. I owe you one." Peter continues as his daughter still tries to find her voice. He pats Mathias's shoulder and turns to Cassie. "Don't be late, princess." Then he leaves them alone.

Mathias's eyes turn to Cassie again. They slowly travel up and down on her body as he licks his lips. They linger some strategic parts before meeting with her gaze.

"Shall we?" He sighs as looking at her face intensely and adds with a cocky smile. "Princess?"

So. Fucking. Hot.

Cassie tries to sound calm like she isn't melting inside. "I don't wanna cause you trouble, Mr. Raptis."

"Nonsense." He murmurs and opens the garden door. "Call me Mathias, sweetheart." He gently waits for her to go first.

Cassie gives him a confident smile as an answer and bites her lip again. Sweetheart!?

On their way to Mathias's house, they walk in silence. Cassie feels her heart pounders harder with every step she takes. They reach the garage and enter the dim place.

Cassie approaches his car and turns around to see him closing the door. Playing with her long hair, she asks. "How many minutes will it take you to drive us, Mr. Rap- Mathias?" She emphasizes his name in a sensual way.

He chuckles at her audacity and licks his lips. "How long do you need, sweetheart?" Mathias murmurs as coming closer to the other side of the car.

"I can't guess." Cassie is being sassy now, she tosses her hair over her shoulder and turns back to the car. Feeling bold under his intense gaze, she seductively sways her hips as walking to the backseat. "When is your meeting?" She looks at his face.

Mathias chuckles at her tempting attitude again, his eyes are piercing hers. "There is no fucking meeting sweety." He declares with an impatient voice. "Now, get in the car."

Cassie bites her lip with enthusiasm, her intimacy begins to throb again. She opens the door and looks at Mathias as smiling mischievously. "I think the meeting is here."

  • Her Father's Friend   56. Not Today

On the right side of Cassie’s neck, there is a giant hickey with tiny teeth marks, along with purple dots within its boundaries. Did her mother see it? God, did Hazel and her grandmother see it?!She rapidly scans the memories of last night and remembers that she had her hair down and covering her neck at Hazel’s house.Thank God.And earlier, when her mother was inside her room, she was lying down on her right side on the bed.Again, thank God.She touches the tender skin of her neck and watches her reflection in the mirror. Remembering that exact steamy second Mathias brutally bit her neck when he came as his muscled body crushed hers, Cassie blushes like a fresh tomato. Her breathing quickens as she caresses the purple mark with the tip of her fingers. Biting her lower lip, she suddenly misses his hold around her body. The possessiveness of his gestures when he was taking her made Cassie feel more feminine than ever. She wasn’t a naive virgin before him, of course, but somehow, M

  • Her Father's Friend   55. The Trust in His Eyes

Cassie is walking on the street with a bag full of frozen coconut slices in her hand. Hazel's grandma insisted Cassie take as much she can carry as and try her Buko Pie recipe at the first opportunity. If Cassie can't follow the recipe, she is always welcome to their house to try grandma’s pie anytime. They are the nicest people she has ever met, for real.Remembering their hospitality, Cassie reaches the garden of her home with a warm smile. While getting in, she glimpses at the house across the street, the place that witnessed her night full of sin and forbidden pleasure with its landlord. Her smile freezes as she shivers and her heart pounds at the memories of those passionate minutes. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she turns around and walks inside the garden, toward the patio. When she was a high school girl who was doing desperate yoga shows there to catch that cerebral man’s attention, Cassie would never guess her teenage dreams could become real one day. Now, as a grown

  • Her Father's Friend   54. The Dusty Barn

Cassie looks at his eyes defiantly. “You just knocked over the bucket.” She lifts her chin with attitude. “There is no more milk.” Resilience. Mathias’s lips curl upward. He likes it. “Too bad, little girl.” His hands roam over her curvy sides, then he squeezes her thighs. Cassie’s body shivers against his touch, Mathias can see flames dancing behind her challenging eyes. “Then you will milk me.” She gasps as her large breasts are squeezed between their bodies. “What do you mean- ah!” Mathias lifts Cassie off her feet and she grabs his shoulders for support. He walks toward the window and throws her curvaceous body onto the haystack between the bales. Then he takes his cowboy hat off and tosses it aside while his eyes wander over her. That pink dirndl wraps Cassie’s curves tightly and makes her breasts look more alluring. She balances herself on her elbows with a condemning smile. Unable to wait to tame this sassy girl until the morning in this barn, Mathias begins to u

  • Her Father's Friend   53. Magst du Milch?

Mathias opens his eyes to find himself in a wide, open meadow. The joyful atmosphere surrounding him is filled with the cheerful sounds of laughing children, mingling with the lilt of traditional music. There is a massive carousel turning slowly, and vibrant banners fluther overhead as people dance beneath them in celebration. The scene is familiar to Mathias but he has no idea what the hell he is doing there. Plus, why is everything so big? It's like he turned into a cockroach like Samsa out of nowhere. The vibrant colors of the festival wash over him, and the crisp breeze carries the faint scent of fresh-baked bread. Confused, Mathias slowly turns around and gets even more surprised against the familiar view in front of his eyes. There are busty milkmaids carrying wooden milk buckets with bright smiles. They all look attractive in tight dirndls as they wander around while swaying their hips. Oh, God. Mathias is back in the German festival when he attended middle school at age twel

  • Her Father's Friend   52. Before Me

Groaning, Mathias throws the phone onto the couch and rests both arms over the back of it. He is acting like a teenager again. There is no way he would jerk off on the same night he had sex.Tilting his head backward, he watches the ceiling with unpleasant thoughts. There is another thing that’s making him uncomfortable. It created a shock effect when he learned that Cassie was in a stranger’s house. A girl, alone outside at that late hour and finding a place to spend the night that quickly? Even a close friend would consider it a fait accompli and reject her. But that person who accepted Cassie was available for her all the time, huh?Mathias has never asked if she had a boyfriend, and the thought of it makes him uncomfortable. More than he is comfortable to admit. The possibility of Cassie lying down on some guy’s bed when Mathias was tidying up their mess leaves an unpleasant taste in his mouth. That’s why he implied that Cassie might have been with a male friend. She didn’t und

  • Her Father's Friend   51. Naughty Fingers

After ending the call, Mathias throws the rest of his scotch to the back of his throat. It burns his chest, but it’s nothing compared to the ache in his groin that the girl on the other side of the line caused. The little vixen just pleasured herself while they were on the phone and left Mathias with his boner. Like an hour ago, another phone call made him more uncomfortable, though. It was Emily and she talked some nonsense about Cassie having an affair with Chris.Knowing how his wife’s imagination works beyond borders, Mathias didn’t believe it for one second. Also, a smart girl like Cassie couldn’t find something to get aroused by an ordinary guy like Chris.Emily never liked Avra’s fiancé, since the boy wasn’t coming from old money. It meant nothing to Mrs. Raptis that Chris’s family was a wealthy one. His surname wasn't worthy of being added to the Raptis for Avra.Mathias also didn’t appreciate the boy but he didn’t give a shit about his money. As a father, he only cared about

  • Her Father's Friend   50. Yes Daddy

Why is Mathias calling her at this late hour? Did Emily mention to him those false accusations about Cassie having an affair with Chris behind Avra's back? He wouldn't believe her, would he? Biting her lower lip, Cassie considers ignoring his call. However, she can't wait with anxiety till they meet again. She swipes the green line on the screen and brings the phone to her ear. “Hello?” First silence, then a deep sigh. “Hello, Cassie.” She swallows, hearing his voice makes her insides tingle. “Hello.” Jesus, she already said that! Mathias doesn't sound like taken aback at her stupid second greeting. “How are you doing?” He doesn't sound angry at her and Cassie relaxes against his calmness. So, this call has nothing to do with Emily. “Nothing.” She answers. “Just lying on the bed.” A little sound comes from his side. Like ice crashing to glass. “Did I wake you up?” His deep voice is laced with weariness. The drama in the garden must be the reason, for sure. “No, no. I wasn

  • Her Father's Friend   49. Cheaters will be Punished

Cassie gasps loudly, putting her hand to her mouth. Emily… Did she…Did she learn that Cassie was at her home, on her couch, doing sinful things with her husband?A cold chill runs down her spine and her hands start to shake. Before Cassie can gather her thoughts, Emily sends another text that makes her breath hitch.Unknown number: This betrayal won’t be forgotten. Cheaters will be punished and I will make sure of it.Her breathing gets faster as her heart pounds. She learned it.Emily Raptis learned about Cassie and Mathias. No, no, no…Emily knows that Cassie is fucking her husband. And she will tell everyone. Her mother, her father, everyone in the neighborhood. Even to the people in her workplace!Oh, God. Oh God, oh God…“Cassie?” “Ha?!” She startles and looks up, seeing both hosts are watching her with concern.“Are you okay?” Hazel asks. “Your face just went pale.”“I, umm…” Cassie struggles to get to her feet. “Can I… use the bathroom?”Hazel immediately points to the ha

  • Her Father's Friend   48. Buko Pie

The old woman gets closer to Cassie with curiosity. Her almond shaped eyes and tanned skin shows that they are relatives with Hazel.“Cassie.” Hazel says. “This is my…”Before she sees it, the old woman reaches Cassie’s face and squeezes her cheeks with a broad smile.“Oh.” Cassie gets surprised but doesn't push the woman.“Lola!” Hazel whines, briefly covering her face with a hand out of embarrassment.“Ang ganda mong babae.” The woman speaks in a different language, still caressing Cassie’s face. Oh, Hazel is from the Philippines, if she remembers correctly. So, it must be their language.“Hindi gusto ng mga tao ang mga ganitong bagay sa America!” Hazel keeps whining, then she gently pulls on the old woman’s small hands to save Cassie from her grip. “It’s okay.” Cassie murmurs, smiling. Hazel probably warned her about the personal space obsession of American people. Unlike her colleague, Cassie likes the warm attitude of this genuine lady.“Umm, sorry for the extra sincerity.” Haze
