Chapter Seventeen

"Good morning" she greeted him, all smiles. "Good morning, how are you?" He asked, returning that smile.

"Iam fine, thank you. Are you on your way to the airport?" She asked, the smile still on her face.

"Yes"

"Okay" she waved, " enjoy yourself"

Michael waved back, " I will, and you do the same" He reached the car and entered into the back, while the driver put the luggages in the boot, as the car was pulling out of the compound, Michael could not help but glance again in Vera's direction.

Michael never called Sophia until Wednesday evening, " How is the kid?" He asked in a dry tone.

"He is doing well" she answered in an equally dry tone.

"I hope everything is okay?" He asked.

"Yes"

"Fine" there was some seconds silence before he said, " well, I just thought I should call, I will call again tomorrow"

"Okay, goodnight".

"Goodnight" he said and hung up.
