Camilo's Point of View

Dominique had dragged me out of the house. Tossed me to the grass in the front yard. No one was around to witness their great leader falling. Or the curse words flying from my mouth at the man in front of me.

Tristan had remained inside. A bloody mess leaning against the wall. Both his eyes would be swollen shut by tomorrow morning. Some ribs might be bruised from my lower blows. But Dominique had barely paid the boy any attention. Flung himself at me the moment he could instead of helping his son.

The spark of anger on his face told me enough of what he had thought of the altercation. That it was nothing more than a nuisance. Alejandro had been dragged off by some of our men. The second in command had given them hell, meaning more men had come from their various stations to help get him away from Tristan.
