Alejandro's Point of View

I could feel it at my fingertips. The monster clawing to get free. Begging to rip this place to shreds. He was insulted. Bruised ego. It took all my strength to run out into the rain. To try and tame him. 

But I could feel my teeth grind together. Heart hammering with each step I took forward. He wanted out. Snarled and paced inside my mind. One of my bones popped. The shoulder. First place the transition always took hold of. I was shuddering with the effort to keep him away.

Camilo had touched a sore spot. The place where we felt most vulnerable. Being picked last. Abandoned. Used and manipulated. He had wanted to paint Farren in such a light as well. That she was only using us and felt nothing. That Rafael was the golden boy. 

I had thought we were past this point. That they had stood together and made a decision regarding our mate. It seemed not. Rafael admitting that he knew Farren best
