Elaine’s POV

“It’s here.” I said to the driver who stopped right in front of the little house that my mother… Selene and I used to stay at. It was still a rundown apartment… Was it even fit to be called an apartment at all? Anyways, that is where I had always stayed even when I was dating Zade, I had only moved out after I got married to Cakeb. My mother moved out as well as Caleb’s grandfather could not bear to see a member of his family live in such a place. However, hearing the noise from inside, it seems she had returned back here, she must have been sent away from the apartment after my divorce.

I raised my hands to knock at the door, pausing for a moment to catch my breath and then finally knocked, twice.

“I’m coming!” I heard her voice, a voice that I had not heard for so many months. I wondered how she would react if she saw my face after thinking that I was dead. The door opened to reveal a very old and stressed Selene who held a sponge which fell from her hands the mome
