Chapter 14: The Rejection

With his continuous silence, Lucianda felt he wanted out and she would be forced to actually make good on her threats.

“I will appreciate it if you can take your leave now, since you obviously have nothing to say for yourself.” She continued in that cold tone, while praying he would say something to make her change her mind about sacking him.

Seeing that the madam was angry, he turned for the door and left. Lucianda wanted to scream as she watched him leave.

When he closed the library door behind him, Lucianda felt so frustrated by the turn of events, she picked the coffee cup on the table and threw it against the wall.

It was when she saw the shattering mess on the floor, she realised she just destroyed another memory of Alex Castos. That was his favourite coffee mug.

What a message!

Just as Lucianda picked another thing to throw, in order to vent her anger, she saw the man standing by the door and she froze.

Lost in her thoughts, she did not hear the door being opened.
