Chapter 13

-MILA-

After yet another lecture from Lowell, I went to sleep.

But I woke up when it was still dark out. I took a shower and got dressed. I couldn't fall back to sleep no matter how much I tried to.

I sent Lobo a text before getting into my car. I had been thinking over what he said about his mate and wondered what he meant when he said he had found his mate.

But I couldn't worry about that all day so I let him know where I was going to be in case something went wrong.

I was going to inspect the wooded area where the bodies turned up.

By logic, it was a stupid idea, but I wasn't focussing on logic. I needed to find out if Lobo was actually the killer before Selene got herself too involved with him.

I would hate if something happened to her, she was my best friend for so many years. We were practically family now. By the time I pulled up at the woods, the sun was beginning to rise.

I tucked my phone into my pocket and locked my car.
