I
Hours before . . . “Are we ready now?” The Lycan Princess of the Kingdom of Gold Valley asked Krista, her Personal Assistant who happened to be her first cousin also. She walked out of her room, well dressed; an epitome of a true Princess with such grace and beauty. “It’s almost five o’clock in the morning already.” She added. “Yes, Princess Shelyca; the Palace’s Royal Jet is waiting for us now at the heliport,” Krista answered after vowing her head to the Lycan Princess. Princess Shelyca smiled at Krista, “That’s good Krista; we need to go then. The Duke of Sussex is waiting for me.” “Right my Princess. I am wondering what he looks like in person.” Krista smiled. Princess Shelyca nodded. “He seems to be a refined and dignified man; no wonder the King and Queen, like him for me. I need to see him first though before I accept his marriage proposal that he sent through our King and Queen. I need to know if he is my destined mate.” “Absolutely my Princess; You need to check if he is your mate and if your personality would click.” Krista who truly loves her first cousin Lycan Princess always wanted the best for her. “Thank you Krista; I know you always wanted the best for me.” Princess Shelyca held Krista’s right hand and they walked hand and hand going to the waiting Bentley car that will bring them to the Palace’s heliport. Krista looked at the Princess and suddenly said, “Princess Shelyca, if I need to die to save you, I will. Don’t forget that. That is how much I treasure you because you never made me feel low, even if the rest did, just because I am my father’s child, out of wedlock.” Princess Shelyca gently tagged Krista’s hand that she was holding. “Don’t you ever say that; no one will die among us. I am a Lycan Princess and no one will dare to hurt us,” she smiled at Krista. From the Palace’s veranda; Trisha, the Second Princess and the adopted daughter of the King and Queen of the Kingdom of Gold Valley watched as Princess Shelyca and Krista got inside the Bentley. Her eyes followed the Bentley car until it was already nowhere in her sight. A smile crossed her face as she turned around and walked down, going to the thrones’ hall. Trisha intensely looked at the Princess’ throne with full admiration and intent to take a seat thereon. She glanced around and seeing that no one was nearby, she slowly walked to the Princess throne and settled herself on it with a fierce desire to make it hers. The head of the palace guards saw what the Second Princess had done. He shook his head with disapproval on his face. If she would tell the King and Queen of what the Second Princess has done, she might be reprimanded. No one should sit on the Princess Throne except the Lycan Princess Shelyca. After a minute ride on the Bentley car, Princess Shelyca and Krista reached the heliport where the palace jet was waiting. They entered the aircraft and settled themselves on the middle part that is truly intended for them. Princess Shelyca closed her eyes as the jet started to rise from the ground. Just a matter of hours and she will know if she found her mate already and her soon-to-be partner in life. As they watched outside the window, all they could see now was the clear sky. They were sitting in this Royal Jet for more than an hour already. “Can you see what is below us, Princess?” Krista asked. Princess Shelyca looked out of the glass window. “I can only see seawater beneath Krista. Maybe, we are up in the Pacific waters already.” They were having that conversation when a man in a black suit and a gun in his hand came out from the back part of the jet and aimed to shoot the Princess. At that instant, as if sensing some danger, Princess Shelyca turned her head and was so shocked to see the man with a gun pointed at her. Even in shock, however, she was able to find her voice and shouted before the man in black suit touched his gun’s trigger. Krista automatically grabbed the Princess and made her body the Princess’ shield against the bullet that came rushing in the air and pierced through her back. “Krista!” “Princess, save yourself … save yourself…” IIFive years ago . . . He was in the training field, showing off his prowess to fight in his human form. None in Dragon Land, except the Dragon Lord, could beat him. He is magnificent, fearless, gorgeous, and robust but somehow, cold-hearted. He is more magnificent every time he transforms himself into his reddish Dragon form and flips his big, mighty wings while transcending into the sky. Each time he will visit the human world, in his human form, he would usually gain glances from women, young or old. He would sometimes go to the city and spend his nights with women, who would cling to him and would regret sleeping when they found out the next morning that he already left without any word; without any promise of returning. He is next in line to the throne of the Dragon Lord. So, what else could he ask for? Nothing more; but something is still missing in him; he never felt complete all throughout this time. The Dragon Lord senses this. He then thought of something that would bring fulfillment into his life; something that will bring out kindness from within and selflessness in the end. “Dareon, you are my youngest yet strongest warrior; I chose you to rule the Thregonad Village in the East. The people there need someone to lead and protect them. They are weak, untrained farmers and fishermen who just live by day fearing for the attacks of werewolves, Centaurs, and pirates around them.” The Dragon Lord, without listening to Dareon’s refusal pointed his open hands to Dareon and the latter automatically shifted into his dragon form. “Fly to the East and rule the people there Dareon. They will hail, respect, and love you.” With the Dragon Lord’s hand compass, Dareon’s wings flipped and even with his resistance, his wings flew him into the East part. He was about to land in the nearby mountain when he heard cries, shouts, and running feet of horses. As a dragon, his sense of hearing is too strong compared to an ordinary human. Dareon’s wings flipped and just for a second he was up there witnessing the Centaurs running around killing men and women, old folks and children of the Thregonad Village. Dareon roared and spitted his fire on the group of Centaurs, who because of surprise was not able to fight back. When Dareon roared and spitted fire once again, Centaurs’ Chief shouted to his team to retreat. All the remaining Centaurs ran without looking back. They were petrified. This is the first time that such a dragon came to help and save the Thregonad people who had been their constant victim of attacks. When all the Centaurs were gone, the dragon Dareon landed down to the amazement and cries of the Thregonad People. As Dareon transformed into his human form, a ray of fire scattered around him, and when it faded, the Thregonad People were all in awe as they watched a God-like creature in his most stunning, spellbinding, and magical appearance.I Dareon, who just woke up and alighted from the King-size, soft bed inside his big hovel, heard the crashing sound not too far from where he stood. Thereupon, a slight sound of a woman’s cry tried to creep through his ears. He closed his eyes and strengthened all his senses. Indeed, he could hear a woman’s tiny voice; wait, he could also hear her controlled sobs.Dareon did not think twice as he shifted himself into his dragon form, flew, and followed the wind to find that tiny voice and controlled sobs. The wind led him to the vastness of the ocean and as he flew more, the sobs he heard became more detectable. The Lycan Princess at that moment was struggling, trying to shift into her wolf form so that she could easily swim to the nearest island. Nonetheless, it was difficult for her; she could not feel Sheenei, her wolf inside. In her human form, she will find it hard to swim unti
I She woke up with a little heaviness in her head. She touched her head, and then suddenly she remembered the wound in her shoulder. She removed the sleeve of her dress covering her left shoulder to check her wound; to her amazement, however, she noticed that it was healed. She could not even see any traces of wound therein. Confused, Princess Shelyca got up and checked her surroundings. She noticed the simplicity yet cleanliness and orderliness of the room that she is into. It is big and the bed is big too. She jumped down from the bed and peeped into the window. She did not know where she was right now. The last thing she could remember about what happened to her was when she tried to shift to her wolf form but she could not then everything became blurred.
IIt has been two days but the Lycan Princess from the Kingdom of Gold Valley has not arrived yet. She was supposed to be in their palace by yesterday.Duke Simon of Sussex has been restless since this morning. He needs to know why Princess Shelyca has not arrived yet. He called on his Assistant to try to contact the King and Queen of the Kingdom of Gold Valley.“Aron, contact King Andreios and Queen Lusica of the Kingdom of Gold Valley. We need to know if Princess Shelyca was able to leave their palace as scheduled.” Duke Simon instructed his Assistant.“Yes your highness.” His personal assistant excused himself from the Duke after vowing his head.
IPrincess Shelyca was in total shock when creatures of half-human and half-horse holding their swords appeared before her very eyes. She screamed, destroying the peace of every living thing inside the forest. The Centaurs laughed so loud when they saw the fear in their beautiful prey.Dareon without other recourse shifted into his Dragon form. If he will not do it, he might be late and might fail to save the Lycan Princess.“Did you hear that?” One of the Centaurs stopped laughing then tried his sense of hearing to ignite.“What?” The other Centaurs retorted.&
I“So what is it that you wanted to tell me Shelyca?” Dareon asked grinning as they entered his big hovel.“Dareon, Can you help me please contact my family? I don’t know where I am now and how I could be able to speak any of them. They might be worried already.” She replied with worry on her face. She sat on the wooden chair and Dareon followed. He sat beside her.Thoughtfully, he looked at her. “I am sure your parents are worried already. However, we have no means of modern communications here. We are a tribe composed of farmers, fishermen and hunters. We are far from the city.”“I was quite right then with my guess. There is no modern way of communicating from here.&rdqu
IPrincess Shelyca is not a woman who will just easily give in to something that she is not sure of and does not conform to her standards and principles.“Dareon, I am not sure what to do right now. I cannot just marry someone just because I need to, more so that I can give my whole self to him.” Princess Shelyca stated with dissatisfaction in her voice. In her mind, Princess Shelyca is asking how come her almost perfect life became a mess now. She sighed and stood-up trying to inhale some fresh air as she looked outside through the open window in Dareon’s house.Without her knowing it, her mind is so open, it has no barrier that the master dragon could easily penetrate it and sees what lies within. He could read her mind like an open book.
IOn the night prior to the wedding, Dareon flew to Dragon Land and sought the approval and blessing of the Dragon Lord to his upcoming marriage. The Dragon Lord was ecstatic when he heard Dareon’s news. “Dareon, finding your right woman is the happiest thing that you are going to do in your dragon life and I want to be a witness to that. Let me bless you and your bride tomorrow. I will come to grace the occasion and wed you.”“Thank you my Dragon Lord; however my bride is still innocent as to who I really am.” Dareon intimated to the kind and wise Dragon, heading the Dragon Land. The Dragon Lord shook his head with what he heard. “Dareon, honesty or transparency is the foundati
I“Shall we?” Dareon with a grinning expression offered his hand to Princess Shelyca.Without thinking twice, Shelyca gave her right hand to her magnificently looking groom. Dareon accepted her hand and even kissed it before finally leading her out of his hovel.“Ms. Shelyca, you left your veil.” The English speaking teacher who is now married to a Thregonad man handed to Shelyca her veil. “By the way, my name is Mercy,” she added after giving the veil to the bride of their Dragon Master.“Thank you Mercy.” She gave Mercy a smile.Without any word, Dareon helped her bride put the veil on her head. Mercy has be
