Camila

I couldn't bear to look at the disgusting scene in front of me, so I turned and ran out, slamming the door behind me so forcefully that even the deaf would have heard it.

My hands trembled as I grasped the door handle, anticipating the impending confrontation.

I saw the bottle of champagne on the floor and grabbed it. I raised the bottle ready to hurl it, but restrained myself because I knew, I wouldn't stop until every breakable item in my house was in pieces. However, I didn't care because that's how intense my anger can be.

My chest heaved, and my body shook with sobs. Tears streamed down my face, and my legs trembled beneath me.

I hurled the bottles against the wall, watching them shatter into shards on the floor. As I stopped to pick up the other glass, Leo's sweaty hands grabbed my arms, halting me.

He lifted my arms gently, and as I stared at his hands gripping my arm, my gaze hardened. As I met his gaze, a fiery rage burned within.

‘How dare he try to manipulate me again?’ I thought, glaring at him and he released me like a burning flame.

“You are overreacting, Camila. It’s not what you think," he said in a smooth, manipulative voice, trying to reach out to me again.

I took two steps back, avoiding his touch. "I can explain," he muttered, lowering his gaze in shame and embarrassment.

I stormed towards Leo, my anger boiling over. “How could you betray me like this?!” I shouted, pushing him back. He tried to grab me, but I slapped him across the chin, my palm stinging.

"You ungrateful bastard, I’m done with you," I yelled, walking past him and brushing my shoulder against his.

“And you believe you're a saint?" He suddenly retorted, causing me to stop in my tracks. I slowly turned around to face him and was surprised to see Leo’s eyes, once warm and loving, now seemed cold and calculating as he met my gaze.

‘Oh my God. He was pretending this whole time? Was this his true color?’

Leo’s Laughter echoed through the room, cold and mirthless, sending shivers down my spine. He rubbed his chin, savoring the spot I’d slapped him, tracing the reddened skin with his finger, and a sly smile spread. He began walking towards me slowly, still wearing the evil smirk on his lips.

“Speaking of betrayal? Speaking of being deceived? You dished it out to me first!" He yelled at me as he approached, "Why didn't you tell me I was dating a half-dead woman!" He quickly added in anger, "Damn it!" He cursed and slumped onto my couch, running his hands through his hair in frustration.

‘Why did Leo say those cruel words? Did he ever truly love me? My heart aches, torn between anger and sadness.

"What did you just call me?" I asked, my voice trembling as I struggled to come to terms with his words. "What the hell did you just call me, you fucking bastard?!” I shouted, pushing him back when he remained silent.

“Half-dead woman! Yes, that’s what you are! " He boldly shouted in my face.

My eyes widened in horror as his words sank in. ‘How could he say that, again ?’ I thought, reeling. My voice caught in my throat suffocating me.

"And you said you were done with me? I ended things long ago. I was only here for the benefit." He added in the cruelest voice I have ever heard from him.

"No!" I screamed, my chest tightened, and I struggled to breathe, I stumbled backward. It was all too overwhelming, and I couldn't hold back the tears.

Looking behind me, I saw Sia stepping out of my bedroom dressed in Leo’s shirt and shorts.

She ignored me completely and walked past me, scoffing loudly, “Leo, that’s enough.” She whined like a baby, smoothing his chest with her hand, which only fueled my anger and I stood up from the floor.

“How could you betray me like this? Why Leo? Why him?” I yelled out in fury, trying to put myself under control.

She rolled her eyes, “I snatched Leo, just like the way you snatched Mom from me. Hope it hurt?” Her lips stretched into a smirk.

I was taken aback by her response. ‘Where did she get those weird thoughts from? How can she accuse me of Miss Abigail’s death.’ I thought, as my brows furrowed in confusion.

"I'm shocked you'd stoop this low, Sia," I said, my voice trembling with anger and hurt. "Miss Abigail's death was an accident. I loved her just as much as you did."

"Spare me the lies, Camila," Sia's eyes flashed with anger, and a hint of jealousy simmering beneath, “You’ve always been Mom’s favorite, Camila. She spent all her time and money on you, leaving me with nothing.”

"That's not true!" My eyes flashed. "I've always been there for you, supporting you through thick and thin. How can you do this to me?

"Supporting me?" Sia's laughter sent chills down my spine. "You've always been the center of attention. Mom sacrificed everything for you, and you repaid her by killing her."

My face burned with anger. "That's a vicious lie! I would never harm Miss Abigail. She was like a mother to me."

"Save your lies, Camila," Sia spat. "You're just trying to manipulate everyone into feeling sorry for you. Well, it won't work this time."

I gazed at Sia in astonishment, wondering why I had never seen this side of her before, even though we had been close since childhood and always treated each other like sisters. I was puzzled by her accusations, as I was unaware of any wrongdoing.

It is true that Miss Abigail used her life savings for my health and often prioritized me over Sia.

She believed that I needed extra attention and care to help me cope with my health issues without feeling overwhelmed. Despite this, she tried to show love and support to both of us. I believe Sia misunderstood her actions and felt neglected.

“Sia, I never killed her.” I restored firmly, trying to sink my words into her head.

“But she died because of you. Mom neglected her cancer because she was looking out for you. She used all her savings on you after your useless birth mother abandoned you in front of the orphanage to die!” She yelled as a few drops of tears streamed down her cheeks.

I gulped down nothing as my gaze averted to Leo, as he sat on the couch with his fingers intertwined lost in his thought, suddenly he stood up and walked out of the house, leaving just me and Sia.

I pushed past Sia, unable to bear her venomous words because I needed time alone to process everything. The door slammed shut behind me, and I stumbled into the night, gasping for air.

“It’s not over yet, watch out.” I could hear her yelling voice behind the closed door.

The city lights blurred around me as I walked, tears streaming down my face. I needed to escape, to drown my sorrows.

That's when I saw it – a neon-lit club, pulsating with music and life.

I stepped inside, losing myself in the crowd. The bartender handed me a whiskey, and I downed it in one gulp.

“Another,” I slurred at the bartender, raising my glass.

I stood up and began dancing, swaging my hips sideways, and jumped into the crowd and began dancing crazily. Suddenly a tall, imposing figure emerged from the shadows. His face was covered with a gold shining mask, while the other part of his uncovered face was flawless.

His piercing eyes seemed to see through me, his voice was low and smoothing, "Want to dance?" he asked, his deep voice laced with a hint of mystery.

I nodded, my vision spinning. We moved to the rhythm, our bodies entwined.

But as the night wore on, I sensed something unsettling about him. His gaze seemed to hold a mixture of fascination and contempt.

In my drunken haze, I didn't care.

The next thing I knew, we were in a dimly lit room. His hands explored my body, sending shivers down my spine.

"Who are you?" I whispered, my words barely audible.

He didn't respond, his lips crashing onto mine.

As we succumbed to passion, I felt a strange, primal energy emanating from him, however, I didn’t care. All I wanted at the moment was to have him inside me.

We both eagerly explored each other's bodies with our hands. He gently pushed me onto the bed and took off my clothes. I closed my eyes, permitting him to do as he pleased.

‘Why not? A one-night stand won't do any harm, will it?’

“Sure?” He whispered, in the sexiest voice I have ever heard.

I nodded, my eyes locked on him, “Yes,” I whispered permitting him. He leaned in, his lips brushing against mine, and then he deepened the kiss.

"Mmm," I couldn't help but let out a soft moan as I explored his mouth with my tongue, tasting the hint of whiskey on his lips.

He raised his hand and gently grasped my exposed breast, causing me to let out a moan as he continued to deepen the kiss.

I attempted to caress his chest, but he firmly held my hands and placed them above my head, making me realize that I was not the one in charge.

He continued kissing my neck and used his hands to spread my legs wide, positioning himself in front of me at the edge of the bed.

With a single fluid movement, he entered me, and I gasped at how perfectly he fit inside. I could hardly stay still as he began thrusting, each movement going deeper and deeper.

“Uhmm!” An electric sensation coursed through my body as he pulled out and teased my cl*t with the tip of his cock before plunging back in. It was a sensation, unlike anything I had ever experienced.

Moving his head down to my breast, he started sucking on my right nipple, increasing the speed of his thrusts.

The pleasure was overwhelming and intense. My body was ablaze, and I could feel myself nearing the edge with each thrust. He intensified his movements, and my moans grew louder.

My legs trembled uncontrollably, unable to withstand the intensity. Yet, he continued to thrust with renewed vigor, his pace seemingly superhuman. Finally, he pulled out and released on the bed, and so did I, before drifting off to sleep.

***The Next Morning***

I awoke with a pounding headache. Where was I? The unfamiliar room sparked a moment of panic.

A figure lay beside me, his face still obscured by a mask. My vision was blurry, and a sudden headache reminded me of the hangover from the excessive drinking the day before.

"Who...?" I stammered.

He turned, revealing piercing eyes that seemed to see right through me.

"Alpha Zedex," he whispered, his voice sending shivers down my spine.

But as our gazes met, I saw something that made my blood run cold: A flash of disgust. A hint of hatred. He stood from the bed and dressed up, all this while my gaze was on him as he walked out.

My heart skipped a beat. What had I done?

  • Her Mate, His Redemption   Chapter 72: Tyla’s Attempt.

Camila “Tyla!” I exclaimed, springing to my feet and leaping toward the doorway where she stood. She held a plate piled with steamed buns, her expression bright with a warmth I found unsettling, but I shrugged it off. Damn! Madam Gabby never mentioned this surprise. Since our last encounter, I hadn’t seen Tyla at all—though, when I’d woken up that morning to Dixie and Bianca’s chatter, I’d secretly wished she were there with them. Now, seeing her in front of me, joy surged through my chest. Without hesitation, I pulled her into a tight hug, the plate wobbling precariously in her grip as she let out a dry, humorless laugh. That laugh isn’t genuine. Tyla’s pretending. Madam Gabby must’ve forced her to bring these buns. I stiffened, withdrawing from the hug. How much I’d missed her, despite everything. “It’s good to have you back safe and sound,” she said, brushing past me. Her voice dripped sarcasm as she slammed the plate onto the dining table and slumped into a chair. “Th

  • Her Mate, His Redemption   Chapter 71: Sharing Her secret

Camila The moment Dixie and Bianca left the room and closed the door behind them, Madam Gabby leaned closer and began examining my body. My jaw dropped in awe, and I wondered why she was doing so. “You aren’t feeling any pain, are you?” she asked, concern lingering in her voice. Tears clouded her eyes as she held my hands, smoothing them gently. Her personality and reactions were exactly like Miss Abigail’s when she was still alive. Just like a mother, she had always looked out for me, wanted me to be safe, and dreaded the thought of me getting hurt. I shook my head. “I’m fine. Your secret weapons were helpful,” I muttered, flashing her a smile. She tried to smile back, but her clouded eyes blinked away tears. I leaned forward and wiped them with the back of my hands. “I’m glad they did,” Madam Gabby said, her shoulders dropping in relief. “I’m also relieved that Alpha Zedex paid them back in their own coin,” she added, smiling. I smiled back. After a silent moment betwe

  • Her Mate, His Redemption   Chapter 70: Madam Gabby.

Camila POVI’d known Lan hated me from the moment he first saw me in the icy dungeons. He despised how I fearlessly talked back to him, how I stood my ground against him—but wanting me dead? Nah. That was something I wouldn’t bet on—though maybe it just hadn’t crossed my mind yet. But come to think of it, now I see why there was so much disdain and hate in Piro’s eyes. The words that came out of his mouth, down to the venom in his glare and dreadful threats—now it’s all coming together in one piece. Bianca shook her head. “So sad that he always pretends to be so naive and clueless in front of the Alpha. Trust me, the Alpha would be disheartened to learn that Lan turned out worse than his brother.” Dixie nodded. “I knew Lan was up to something when he chose his half-brother over his blood brother. Deadlier than a snake—now I wish Alpha Zedex had known this sooner to avoid future trouble,” she voiced in concern. Bianca hastily held my hand. “From now on, you need to stay away fr

Camila “Trust me, Mogan,” I whispered, pulling away from him to sit on the edge of the bed. His gaze burned into my back as I walked, heavy and unyielding. When I lifted my eyes to meet his, he released a heavy sigh of relief, as though my closeness had been suffocating him all along. Mogan’s stare snapped toward me. Even in the dim light, I could see the doubt flickering behind his hardened expression—how he blinked rapidly, his eyes darting to the walls, the floor, anywhere but me. Convincing him would be difficult, I knew. But I couldn’t force him. If I pushed too hard, he’d only grow more wary, suspecting some hidden scheme. Yet, deep down, I clung to one certainty, he didn’t hate me. Since my arrival in this strange, shadowed world, he’d saved me countless times. Even when I feared he’d betray me for asking Madam Gabby about Zedex’s past, he’d stayed silent. That small mercy had spared me harsher punishments. “I’ll give you time to think, Mogan,” I said softly, climbing o

  • Her Mate, His Redemption   Chapter 68: I Will Set Him Free

CAMILA POVIn a flash, he closed the distance between us. His palm struck my chin like lightning, pain jolting through me like electricity. My hand flew to my face as tears spilled over. He gripped my jaw, forcing me to meet his burning gaze. A shiver raced down my spine. The fury in his eyes made me wish the ground would swallow me whole. ‘I should’ve stayed silent. Let him walk away.’ “Trust?” Zedex’s voice dripped venom as his fingers dug into my flesh. Blood trickled down my neck. “Who the fuck are you to speak of trust? You stole from me. Gave my ring to the enemy.” He snarled like a feral beast, then drove his fist into my stomach. I crumpled to the floor, waist slamming against the wooden table. A sharp cry tore from my throat. “Ugh!” I lifted tear-blurred eyes to him. He scoffed, “I'd rather trust a snake than a human. He stalked toward me, a predator circling prey. “You want to flee, don’t you?” he whispered before erupting into manic laughter. “N-no—” I shook my hea

  • Her Mate, His Redemption   Chapter 67: Zedex, Trust me!

Camila POV My eyelashes fluttered open as my gaze landed on the ceiling. The faint scent of Zedex’s sandalwood cologne lingered in the air, grounding me in his space. It was familiar, and I slowly raised my upper body to sit upright on the bed. My eyes wandered around the room, and I instantly recognized Zedex’s chambers. I stretched my arms and twisted slightly, surprised to feel no pain in my body or joints—not even a headache. The usual ache in my ribs from past beatings was gone, replaced by an unnatural vigor. I felt renewed and strong as if energized from within. ‘When did we return to the Vermillion Pack?’ My thoughts raced, scrambling to recall what had happened. In a flash, memories flooded my mind: Max and Troy harassing me, Zedex intervening by severing their hands. Their snarls echoed in my skull, followed by the metallic tang of blood. My face fell with sadness. The rivalry between the brothers showed no sign of ending, and it pained me to know it was all because o

Alpha Zedex.I turned around and walked further into my room, sitting at my dining table. I then untied my mask from my face, showing my scar, before pouring myself a cup of tea. After some time, Mogan didn’t hear a word from me, which made him lift his head. At that moment, I turned and our eyes met. I waved my hand, inviting him to come closer. “Come, sit,” I said softly, sipping my tea. The warmth of the drink going down my throat couldn’t compare to the sorrow in my heart. Mogan stood up and walked over to me, sitting across from where I sat. I picked up the small kettle and poured tea into both of our cups. “Zedex…” he hesitated, studying my face as I looked at him calmly. He expected me to be upset for him using my name, but my steady gaze encouraged him to continue. “I know Grandpa took it out on you,” he said quietly, understanding my pain. I would say Mogan is the only one who truly gets me. He sees right through my attempts to hide my feelings. He has witnessed me at my

Alpha Zedex. The intense pain on my bare chin made me look at him, feeling as if I had been punched in the stomach. The hurt glimmered in my eyes, making them shiny with tears. The shock and pain from Grandpa’s slap crashed over me like a wave, and my mouth fell open because I couldn’t understand why he was defending Max, even though he had planned to hurt me. “Grandpa!” I shouted, my voice trembling. The anger and frustration I held back spilled out like a dam breaking. Tears welled in my eyes, and I felt my face flush with rage. I balled my hands into fists to keep my emotions in check. “Enough, Zedex!” he responded, his eyes filled with disappointment and sadness as he looked into mine. “Why did you hurt your brother?” His expression suddenly softened, and he began to cry. “Hmph!” I scoffed, unable to stop a hurtful laugh from escaping as I stood up from the floor. I wasn't surprised by what he said; it was always the first question he asked whenever Max and I fought. But what

Alpha Zedex Lan kept a steady smile on his face, but his clenched fist revealed his inner turmoil. The sadness in his eyes was unmistakable, though he did his best to hide his sorrow. “Just tell me, did you see Max? How is he?” Lan pressed again, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. No matter what had transpired, as I mentioned earlier, family ties run deep, but betrayal leaves wounds that no relationship can mend. I turned to Grandpa, who stepped closer, his intense gaze fixed on me. I could tell he was anxious—eager for any news about his grandson. There was no escaping this moment; it would come out eventually. Mogan noticed the tension between us and moved forward. The sound of his boots echoed in the quiet hall as he clasped his hands behind his back and began to pace slowly, drawing everyone’s attention. “The Full Mountain Pack deceived us,” he declared loudly. “It was all a lie. There was no human attack. There were no killings. Alpha Troy and Max lured our Alpha there t
