TWO DAYS LATER.

The pack’s prison is set in a valley. It’s a really wide, ten-story structure with nothing except the empty rooms, the bars, the muddy floors, the darkness, and the stink of dust and mud in each room.

Zeedar’s sitting cross-legged on the floor in one of these rooms, resting against the wall with his eyes closed.

He hears the prison main door creak open before his sharp hearing picks up the slowly approaching footsteps.

He can tell it’s the Alpha from the rhythm of the footfalls
