Sawyer had asked for some time from the council while he figured out what needed to be done. I had heard some gruesome details of what happened to Ashley and how her boyfriend had used a bottle to assault her until it broke. There were pieces everywhere, and it made me feel bad for her. But that didn’t mean I would hand over my mate to her.

“Ugh!” Sawyer was pacing from one corner of the room to the other while I sat on the sofa near the window, watching him wander around.

He finally stopped and grabbed his phone to call someone. It was a warrior he summoned to his bedroom.

A few minutes later, a young man in his late twenties appeared before Sawyer.

“Jared! I have a favor to ask of you,” I frowned, watching Sawyer sit down with Jared, keeping his head down.

“Your Highness, you can ask for my life, and I won’t complain,” Jared replied softly and gratefully.

“I heard you haven’t found your mate yet. I’m afraid it will be hard for you to do that, but someone needs saving,” Sawy
